False Awakening: Defense - The Illusion of the Ego

The Illusion of the Ego

Nothing can be taken from you; you cannot lose who you are. You are indestructible and eternal. You are a manifestation of God's light, an individual consciousness just as others are, so what is there to struggle with? Only the perceived threat of loss that the ego presents to us can bring us into fear, delusion and defensiveness. When we understand that loss is impossible, we will not keep falling into the same hole over and over again. We must eventually see the distorted reality that the ego presents to us, and once again embrace love unconditionally.

False Awakening: Secrets of the Five Pranas

Prana - Secrets of the Five Pranas

To change something we must alter the energy which creates it. This fact is true in the practice of Yoga. To bring about positive changes in body and mind we must understand the energy through which they work. This is called Prana in Sanskrit, meaning primary energy. It is sometimes translated as breath or vital force, though it is more than these.

False Awakening: The Colour Indigo

The tertiary colour Indigo is manifest at the convergence of Violet and Blue within the Light Spectrum.

Indigo is the colour of the 6th chakra - often referred to as the Ajna Chakra or "Third Eye" - partly because of its position over the Pineal Gland and between the brows, and partly because of it's association to paranormal "vision" - seeing beyond the capability of the eyes. Whereas Blue is the colour of transition - "the door to the other side" - Indigo, is the "other side". It is the colour of "synthesis"-which is the act of assembling "seemingly" separate - unrelated criteria into a complete or whole understanding. This translates through the human consciousness as KNOWING - but not knowing how you know.

False Awakening: The End Of Marriage As We Know It

Something seems to be seriously wrong with marriage.

During the past 50 years, the rate of divorce in the United States has exploded out of control to its current level of about 50 percent, and it shows no signs of letting up. That is a very sobering trend and statistic. I recently contributed to that number, and it doesn't feel so good, especially when there are innocent children involved. Some people have contributed more than once. Most of them probably feel worse than I do, and wonder where it all went wrong.

False Awakening: Encyclopedia - Awake

Being awake is a metabolic state which is marked by catabolic processes and which is characterized by consciousness, the opposite of sleep, an anabolic process. Communication, ambulation, and ingestion are conducted while awake. Animals can run, walk and eat while awake; humans can also talk, listen, write, read, and productively think and work in the awake state. Awake - Other meanings. False Awakening: Encyclopedia - Zita

Saint Zita (c. 1215 - 27 April 1272) is the patron saint of all maids and domestics. She may also be appealed to in order to help find lost keys. She was an Italian woman who began as a servant at the age of 12 to the Fatinelli household in Lucca, Italy. She was unjustly despised, overburdened, reviled, and often beaten by her employers and fellow servants for her hard work and obvious goodness. The incessant ill-usage, however, was powerless to deprive her of her inward peace, her love of those who wronged her, and her respect ...

False Awakening: Encyclopedia - Faith

The word faith has various uses; its central meaning is similar to "belief", "trust" or "confidence", but unlike these terms, "faith" tends to imply a transpersonal rather than interpersonal relationship – with God or a higher power. The object of faith can be a person (or even an inanimate object or state of affairs) or a proposition (or body of propositions, such as a religious credo). In each case, however, the faithful subject's faith is in an aspect of the object that cannot be rationally proven or objectively known. ...

False Awakening: Encyclopedia - Religious ecstasy

Religious ecstasy is a trance-like state characterized by expanded mental and spiritual awareness and is frequently accompanied by visions, hallucinations, and physical euphoria. Such an experience usually lasts about a half-hour. However, there are many records of such experiences lasting several days, and some people claim to have experienced ecstasy over a period of over three decades, or to have recurring experiences of ecstasy during their lifetime. Religious ecstasy can be distinguished from spirit possession and hypnosis ...

False Awakening: Encyclopedia - Anterograde amnesia

Anterograde amnesia is a form of amnesia, or memory loss, where new events are not transferred to long-term memory. After the onset of the disorder, the sufferer will not be able to remember anything that occurs after his attention is shifted away from one subject for more than a few seconds. Those who suffer from theoretically pure anterograde amnesia will still be able to remember memories laid down before the onset of anterograde amnesia, but will exist in a transient world where anything beyond their immediate attention-span disappears permanently from their consciousness. In reality, anterograde amnesia i ...

False Awakening: Encyclopedia - Prophecy

Prophecy, in a broad sense, is the prediction of future events. The etymology of the word is ultimately Greek, from pro- "before" plus the root of phanai "speak", i. e. "speaking before" or "foretelling", but prophecy often implies the involvement of supernatural phenomena, whether it is communication with a deity, the reading of magical signs, or astrology. It is also used as a ...

False Awakening: Encyclopedia - Criticisms of sexual behavior

Criticism and regulation of sexuality has historically been one of the major aspects of human society. Criticisms of sexual behavior have addressed human sexuality in general as well as its individual practices. Because sexuality is a fundamental aspect of human identity, every criticism of sexuality fails one or more logical tests, and can never rise to the level of a scientific thesis. Nevertheless, it is educational to examine each criticism as well as its flaws. Criticisms of sexual behavior - General criticisms. ...

Adi Da Samraj (born Franklin Albert Jones, November 3, 1939 in Jamaica, New York) is a highly controversial modern spiritual teacher and religious guru and the founder of the new religious movement known as Adidam. At various times, Adi Da has also used names such as Bubba Free John, Da Free John, and Da Love-Ananda, to correspond with changes in his work as a spiritual teacher (see the section on name changes below). False Awakening: Encyclopedia - Beast Machines

Beast Machines was an animated television series produced by Mainframe Entertainment that was a sequel to Beast Wars. The show aired on Fox and YTV from 1999 to 2000. The show initially proved unpopular, mainly from accusations of inconsistent portrayal of characters returning from the previous series. It ran for two seasons, the backlash is still felt today. Story editor Robert Skir ran a message board during the show's run and after several unfortunate comments made to fans, he was asked by Hasbro not to attend the Transformers conv ...

False Awakening: Encyclopedia - Nicolaus Ludwig Zinzendorf

Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf, Count of Zinzendorf and Pottendorf, (May 26, 1700 – May 9, 1760), German religious and social reformer, was born at Dresden. Zinzendorf had a naturally alert and active mind, and an enthusiastic temperament that made his life one of ceaseless planning and executing. Like Luther, he was often carried away by strong and vehement feelings, and he was easily upset both by sorrow and joy. He was an eager seeker after truth, and could not understand men who at all costs kept to the opinions they had ...

False Awakening: Encyclopedia - Guru

A guru (गुरू Sanskrit) is a teacher in Hinduism, Buddhism or Sikhism. Based on a long line of philosophical understanding as to the importance of knowledge, the guru is seen in these religions as a sacred conduit, or a way to self-realization. In India and among people of Hindu, Buddhist, or Sikh belief, the title retains a hallowed meaning. Guru also refers in Sanskrit to Brihaspati, a Hindu figure analogous to the Roman planet/god Jupiter. In Vedic astrology, Jupiter/Guru/Brihaspati is believed to ...

False Awakening: Encyclopedia II - Development of religion - Religions as absolutely true

In the following models, religions are seen as absolutely and unchangingly True. They contrast with both the first group of models (which held religion to be false), and the second group (which held religion to develop over time). Development of religion - Jewish model. Traditional Judaism teaches that God relates to humanity through a series of covenants, which are initiated by him, and in which God promises to perform certain acts on the condition that humans "keep their side of the bargain." Jews believ ...

False Awakening: Encyclopedia II - Development of religion - Religions as progressively true

In contrast to the above models, the following models see religion as "progressively true." These models differentiate between major world religions and the cults and false religions which develop in the above ways. Within these models, and in contrast to cults, religions reflect an essential Truth to one degree or another. The development of religion is therefore the course of religions aligning themselves more closely with the Truth. 1) Within these models, religions are developed by prophets and teachers who bring genuine ins ...

False Awakening: To evoke a specific dream

There is much evidence in existence to support the notion that we all possess the potential to incubate dreams - in other words, conjure up dreams to order. Whether they are romantic encounters, dreams that furnish solutions to problems, or even lucid dreams, with time and effort, they can be evoked. Ancient civilizations were well aware of the potential of dream incubation. The Egyptians, for example, built temples called Serapeums, named after Serapis, the god of dreams. It wasn't unusual for the expectant dreamer to undergo various procedures including cleansing, purging, offering up prayer and so forth, in order to experience the desired dream.

False Awakening: Encyclopedia II - Michael Myers Halloween - First sequel continuity

In Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, we learn that both Loomis and Michael survived the explosion at the hospital. Loomis has been facially scarred and walks with a cane while Michael has spent 10 years in a coma. Once again, on Halloween eve, 1988, three EMTs are given the task of transferring Michael to another facility. While in the back of the ambulance, they discuss Michael's history and we learn not only that Laurie Strode was killed in a car wreck (which later turns out to be false), but she left behind a daughter, Jamie Lloyd. Upon hearing this news, Michael suddenly awakens, kill ...
