BIOFIELD: an energy field that suffuses living bodies and extends several inches beyond the body. This concept is employed in therapies such as healing touch, medical qigong, therapeutic touch, and reiki. In these therapies, the biofield from a practitioners hands is joined to the recipients biofield in order to treat an illness or to promote health. There is no consensus on what biofield is; some say it is spiritual energy, others say it is an electromagnetic field.

EMF BALANCING TECHNIQUE

In an hour-long session, clients experience their own electromagnetic field and the patterns within it. The practitioner carries out a series of graceful, t’ai chi-like movements, while the client lies on a massage table. During some parts of the session, the practitioner will gently place their hands on the body to facilitate the flow of energy.

FENG SHUI (pronounced Fung Schway)

local healing: Biofield healing that uses the practitioner's hands on the subject's body, according to Alternative Medicine: Expanding Medical Horizons (the so-called Chantilly Report), released by the National Institutes of Health in March 1995.

The report defines biofield as a massless field that:

(a)           is not necessarily electromagnetic,

(b)           surrounds and permeates living bodies,

(c)           affects the body, and

(d)           possibly is related to qi (chi).

metal and gem therapy: Ostensibly therapeutic application of gems, gemstones, and metals.

Its apparent principle is that different metals and gemstones affect the body's electromagnetic field differently. For example, emeralds, can balance chakras and can heal and cleanse one's aura. Obsidian can eliminate negativity and draw one's aura toward the body.
