Neurofibromatosis type II - Incidence Mode of transmission Epidemiology. NF II is an inheritable disorder with an autosomal dominant mode of transmission. The clinical spectrum of the disease is broad. In other words, people with NF II may develop a wide range of distinct problems. Acoustic nerve: 90% of the patients show a bilateral Acoustic neuroma in NMR-Imaging. Other cranial nerves and meninges: About 50% of patients develop tumours in other cranial nerves or Meningiomas. The "cardinal symptom" of the disease is bilateral acoustic neurinoma. (By its cardinal symptom a disorder is defined.) The term "diagnostic criteria" designates the combination of symptoms which allows the doctor to ascertain the diagnosis of the respective disease. Ear candling or ear coning:
a treatment for wax build-up, hearing problems, and ear and sinus infections. Treatment involves placing a narrow, specially designed tubular candle at the entry to the ear canal, while the opposite end is lit. The heat from the burning cylinder creates a vacuum and draws debris from the ear canal.

In the language of yoga, the purpose or the effect of continuous nada sadhana on the human mind is ananda - extreme bliss.
 
Nada, or sound, is divided into two parts - aahada and anhada, heard and unheard. Heard means that which is possible for you to hear 'through the physical ears', and unheard means 'felt', which is the condition of nada before it is musically shaped and regularised. Then come the shrutis, then swaras, notes, which from time to time have been explained by the masters.

Uchchaih-sravas uccaih-sravas (Sanskrit) [from uchchaih aloft, high above + sravas ear]
 
Long-eared, he who hears what is above, one having spiritual or inner hearing; the white horse of Indra, one of the 14 precious things that issued from the waters churned by the gods in Hindu legend, regarded as the prototype and king of horses. In this connection one is reminded of the many statues of the buddhas with pendant ears, symbolizing a spiritual power -- he who hears the cries of all.

Chadayatana (Sanskrit). Lit., the six dwellings or gates in man for the reception of sensations; thus, on the physical plane, the eyes, nose, ear, tongue, body (or touch) and mind, as a product of the physical brain and on the mental plane (esoterically), spiritual sight, smell, hearing, taste, touch and perception, the whole synthesized by the Buddhi-atmic element. Chadayatana is one of the 12 Nidanas, which form the chain of incessant causation and effect.

Medini(Sanskrit). The earth; so-called from the marrow (medas) of two demons. These monsters springing from the ear of the sleeping Vishnu, were preparing to kill Brahma who was lying on the lotus which grows from Vishnu’s navel, when the god of Preservation awoke and killed them. Their bodies being thrown into the sea produced such a quantity of fat and marrow that Narayana used it to form the earth with.

Collyridians. A sect of Gnostics who, in the ear]y centuries of Christianity, transferred their worship and reverence from Astoreth to Mary, as Queen of Heaven and Virgin. Regarding the two as identical, they offered to the latter as they had done to the former, buns and cakes on certain days, with sexual symbols represented on them.
