Dreaming of Seven: To evoke a specific dream

There is much evidence in existence to support the notion that we all possess the potential to incubate dreams - in other words, conjure up dreams to order. Whether they are romantic encounters, dreams that furnish solutions to problems, or even lucid dreams, with time and effort, they can be evoked. Ancient civilizations were well aware of the potential of dream incubation. The Egyptians, for example, built temples called Serapeums, named after Serapis, the god of dreams. It wasn't unusual for the expectant dreamer to undergo various procedures including cleansing, purging, offering up prayer and so forth, in order to experience the desired dream.

Dreaming of Seven: Precognitive dreams and premonitions

About four out of ten reported psychic experiences involve some seeming awareness of the future. The term premonition is in general use, and the more clinical word precognition, ('before knowing'), tends to be used by parapsychologists. In descending order of frequency, premonitions come in the form of dreams, waking thoughts, waking imagery and sleep-onset, (hypnagogic), imagery.

Dreaming of Seven: Dreams Interpretation Dictionary - Numbers

Numbers Dream Symbols

One Dream Symbols:

Unity, oneness (conscious and unconscious integrated).

Two Dream Symbols:

The number two may be a symbol for conflict: for example, between two parts of yourself (which may be represented in the dream by yourself Dream Symbols:

the dream ego and an adversary, or by hostile brothers, sisters, twins).

(2) Two may also symbolize a union or partnership: for example, of conscious and unconscious or masculine and feminine elements in the psyche. Such union or partnership is always fruitful and creative. (In Indian philosophy one is an arid number; two male and female can create. A Hindu god is always represented as two-in-one, a union of male and female).

Three Dream Symbols:

The number three may symbolize completeness and fulfillment; or anything that may contribute to your personal fulfillment for example, the resolving of conflict between two opposing psychic forces.

(2) Jung says three may signify that something is nearly but not quite complete; or that what is lacking in you can be supplied only by some part of your unconscious elf that you find too frightening to acknowledge and use (Even God, he says, is not quite complete without the Devil).

Four Dream Symbols:

Wholeness; the completely integrated human psyche.

Five Dream Symbols:

Five is a number for change (being the next number after four, five is starting over again).

Six Dream Symbols:

May be number for completeness. Six is a multiple of three (same as three). (2) May symbolize conflict.

Seven Dream Symbols:

is also a number for completeness.

(2) The number seven may also signal time for change as in the 'seven year itch".

(3) Sixes and sevens, of course may symbolize conflict.

Eight Dream Symbols:

has the same significance as four, of which it is a multiple: wholeness; the completely integrated human psyche.

(2) It also symbolizes infinity or eternity; or the endless cycle of death and rebirth.

Nine Dream Symbols:

The number nine is a symbol of completeness, may represent personal fulfillment (in Greek mythology the number nine symbolizes the Goddess, the highest personal fulfillment of the feminine psyche).

Ten Dream Symbols:

one and zero; the same as one.{see 432 for more info on the number nine}

All other numbers are either a multiple of numbers already listed, therefore, having the same meaning, or, can be added together to get a number already listed (example, 117 = nine). Look at the personal significance of any number in a dream for its relationship.

The story of the crow determining the number of people entering and leaving a barn is a possible link to the origin of numbers within the psyche of all of Nature's life. The crow (which the farmer wanted to get rid of and which had taken up residence in his barn) could recognize the number of people entering and leaving the barn and knew when all were gone and could re-enter the barn safely. He could do this up to the number of four people. After that, the fifth and beyond, he saw as "many" and when five went into the barn and only four left, he could not determine beyond the number four, thus the fifth person did him in.

Dreaming of Seven: Reflections on the Dream Traditions of Islam

Meaning of Dreams in Islam

Few Western dream researchers have any familiarity with the rich dream traditions of Islam. The Muslim faith first emerged in seventh century B.C.E. Arabia as a profound revisioning of early Jewish and Christian beliefs and practices. One theme the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) drew from the scriptures of those two religions was a reverence for dreaming. In the Quran, as in the Jewish Torah and the Christian New Testament, dreams serve as a vital medium by which God communicates with humans. Dreams offer divine guidance and comfort, warn people of impending danger, and offer prophetic glimpses of the future. Although the three religions drastically differ on many other topics, they find substantial agreement on this particular point: dreaming is a valuable source of wisdom, understanding, and inspiration. Indeed, as I will propose in this brief essay, Islam has historically shown greater interest in dreams than either of the other two traditions, and has done more to weave dreaming into the daily lives of its members. From the first revelatory visions of Muhammed to the myriad dream practices of present-day Muslims, Islam has developed and sustained a complex, multifaceted tradition of active engagement with the dreaming imagination.

Dreaming of Seven: The Mind and Dreaming

During dream, the mind creates various kinds of objects out of the impressions produced by the experiences of the waking state. The mind reproduces the whole of its waking life in dream through the force of Avidya (ignorance), Kama (desire or imagination) and Karma (action). The mind is the perceiver and the mind itself is the perceived in the dream. The mind creates the objects without the help of any external means

A spiritual view on dreams and the meaning of dreams by Sri Swami Sivananda, an authority in the vedic sciences and traditions.

Dreaming of Seven: Dream Interpretation - Wading

Wading [237]

  • If you wade in clear water while dreaming, you will partake of evanescent, but exquisite joys. If the water is muddy, you are in danger of illness, or some sorrowful experiences.
  • To see children wading in clear water is a happy prognostication, as you will be favored in your enterprises.
  • For a young woman to dream of wading in clear foaming water, she will soon gain the desire nearest her heart.

Dreaming of Seven: A Different Kind of Memory   What do Indigos Dream?

I have taught many parents how to interpret their children's dreams. Knowing the language of mind gives you an invaluable window into your child's consciousness. When Briana was eleven I asked her parents, who are both dream interpreters, how often she remembered her dreams. Her mother, Teresa, said she remembered about four every week. Teresa also thought Bri had an idea of what her dreams meant. I encouraged her to listen to Briana's ideas and build upon them. When Teresa said sometimes it was like "pulling teeth to get her to express her thoughts," I suggested she encourage Bri to draw or even act out her dreams.

Dreaming of Seven: The Seven Planes

There are seven planes. They are Bhuloka (earth plane), Bhuvarloka (Antariksha or the astral plane), Svargaloka (heaven or the mental plane), Maharloka, Janaloka, Tapoloka and Satyaloka (Brahmaloka or the world of Brahma, the Creator).

This is an excerpt from the book What Becomes Of The Soul After Death by Sri Swami Sivananda.

Part III of III of Yoga-Kundalini Upanishad

The Yoga-Kundalini Upanishad is the eighty-sixth among the 108 Upanishads. It forms part of the Krishna Yajurveda. It deals with an exposition of Hatha and Lambika Yogas. It concludes with an account of the non-qualified Brahman. The Non-dual Brahman is the quest of all seekers.

Dreaming of Seven: What is Consciousness?

What raises us above other known sentient beings is our ability to be conscious of our own consciousness. But what does this mean, scientifically?

It is now widely accepted that all knowledge, from the beginning of time, is available to each of us, an intelligence that is carried at the cellular, subatomic level. Highly evolved individuals who have touched the hem of the eternal and communed with the infinite through their higher consciousness, made that quantum leap but have been unable to transfer their understanding due to limitations imposed by language. Because language is incomplete and fragmentary, merely registering a stage in the average advance beyond the ape mentality. But all of us do have flashes of insight beyond meanings already stabilized in etymology and grammar.

Dreaming of Seven: Kundalini Awakens

Kundalini Awakening

When Rob told me my Kundalini had been awakened, I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. The awakening of Kundalini is a spiritual awakening, a major step towards realization of the divine. It is, in fact, a great boon, a great blessing and a magical gift. According to Swami Prajananda,

"The main purpose of its awakening in a seeker is to enable him to attain Godhood" (Muktananda, Kundalini 9).

Dreaming of Seven: Who Am I?

This is a world of diversity. Intellects are different. Faces are different. Religions are different. Sounds are different. Faiths are different. Colours are different. Faculties are different. Tastes and temperaments are different. But one thing is common in all. Everyone of us wants Nitya Sukha (eternal happiness), infinite knowledge, immortality, freedom and independence. These things can be obtained by knowledge of the Self alone.
