Interpretation - Bears
Bears The appearance of a bear in a dream is a good example of dream interpretation as being culturally shaped. For many of us, bears are not very good companions and they represent ill temperament. In Native American traditions, however, they take on a different meaning. For the Navajo and Crow Indians, the bear is a father or grandfather figure that possesses wisdom and knowledge of the sacred.

 | | | Dreaming of Grandfather: The Crystal Children
At age two, Harry was diagnosed as "autistic" when it was apparent his speech development lagged behind normal. At first, his parents and doctor thought Harry had a hearing problem, so they had grommets (protective loops) placed in his ears. But Harry still didn't speak. His mother, Karenanne, says "Harry has always had a very sunny temperament and showed no angst at being unable to speak. It was like talking was something he'd do when he was good and ready. It was the same with his reading skills. He showed no interest in baby books, yet when he got interested in Pokemon, he rapidly showed he indeed knew how to read, and he just pored over those handbooks."

 | | | Dreaming of Grandfather: A Glowing Tribute To The Tenth Guru
The individual's moral fibre had to be strengthened through basic convictions. With this farsightedness, the tenth and last Guru, Gobind Singh, set about honing the faith's dynamics through innovation and personal example. His rigorous self-discipline and inner fortitude were exemplified by his equanimity and poise in the face of tragedies few encounter in their lifetime. He was nine when he received the head of his father Guru Tegh Bahadur, beheaded in Delhi on the orders of the Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb. His father had chosen martyrdom to demonstrate to Aurangzeb - and the people of India - that a man convinced of his moral purpose and inalienable right to practise his own religion, is unafraid to die.

 | | | Dreaming of Grandfather: Inverting the Pyramid - Leaders as Servants
Leadership is often associated with power. Today, the term has acquired negative connotations, particularly in politics. One has come to question the relative importance of being recognised as a "leader" when what we sorely need are individuals who both lead by their service and example and follow the universally accepted principles of responsible living. We are beginning to see that traditional autocratic and hierarchical models of leadership are slowly yielding to a newer model. This model - of leaders as servants - will simultaneously enhance the personal growth of the led and improve the quality of our many institutions through a combination of individual and community teamwork in decision-making infused with ethical and caring behaviour.

 | | | Dreaming of Grandfather: The Matrix Myth and the Price of Freedom
reedom is tough shit. That's the central message of the Matrix movies. The inhabitants of the computer-simulated world of the Matrix live in comfortable, salubrious surroundings and appear secure and content with their lives. The rebels who inhabit the real world live in Zion, an underground citadel that looks like Dante's Inferno. They undergo physical and mental pain and are always prey to fears and doubts. Despite this, they feel immeasurably better off than those in the Matrix. Because Zion is freedom, and the Matrix is enslavement. And if the price of freedom is anguish, too bad. For everyone who's free knows that freedom is tough. Too tough for most, according to Dostoyevsky's Grand Inquisitor.

 | | | Dreaming of Grandfather: Get ready for the Crystal Kids
We hear about the new children and how they are changing our world. The Indigo children are here making a difference now, but what's next? For the past seven years Steve Rother has been receiving divinely inspired information from a collective of angels simply known as "the Group." He and his partner Barbara have presented this information to delegations at the United Nations on two continents on five separate occasions. In 1997 the Group spoke of the Crystal children as possibilities in human evolution. In spite of what we see on the news, the Group says that we are moving forward rapidly. As a result, the Crystal children are no longer a possibility, now they are a reality.

 | | | Dreaming of Grandfather: Departing Or Death Bed Visions FAQWHAT
IS A DEPARTING VISION (OFTEN CALLED A DEATHBED VISION)?
Most
Hospice workers are very familiar with departing or deathbed visions, but
sometimes these experiences are difficult to put into words. A deathbed vision
or Death Bed Vision is a powerful, comforting experience the dying and their
family members often encounter just before death occurs. The dying will report
visions of angels, deceased loved ones or religious figures moments, hours,
days or even weeks before actual death takes place. These visions typically
lessen the fear of dying and make passing an easier transition for all
concerned.

 | | | Dreaming of Grandfather: Encyclopedia II - Time travel - Time travel, or space-time travel? The classic problem with the concept of "time travel ships" in science fiction is that it invariably treats Earth as the frame of reference in space. The idea that a traveller can go into a machine that sends you to "A.D. 1865" and leave through a door into the same spot in Poughkeepsie ignores the issue that Earth is moving through space around the Sun, which is moving in the galaxy, etc. So, given space-time as four dimensions, and "time travel" referring to just "moving" along one of them, a traveller could not stay in the same place with ...
