Falling or Drowning

Definition: You dream of falling through the air, frightened. You may or may not strike the ground before awakening. A variant of this dream are images of drowning or near-drowning.

Snake

In some cultures snakes are highly regarded and symbolize the ability to transcend into higher levels of consciousness or into areas of knowledge that exist outside perceived time and space. In the pre-Christian days, snakes were considered symbols of fertility, healing, and nurturing (the healing serpent representing a god). Post Adam and Eve, snakes are often considered symbols of temptation and evil, anger, and envy. Snakes emerging out of the ground may represent your unconscious or repressed materials coming to your conscious mind. Freud thought that the snake was a phallic symbol. It is amazing how many people have snake dreams! Most snake dreams seem to be disturbing and they leave the dreamer feeling anxious and afraid. There are no simple interpretations to the snake dreams. Each dreamer must consider their own situation and all of the details of the dream. Sometimes snakes may be phallic symbols and other times they represent negativity in our lives that hampers our progress and constantly threatens us. In the long run the snake may be a positive symbol; it may represent difficulties that lead us to the center of personality and result in feelings of completeness.

Urination

Elimination of body waste is a task that we often prefer not to share with others. We either feel that our privacy is being invaded, or that another is forcing themselves on us. This often reflects not only the base nature of the act, but also the genital exposure that accompanies it.

A 25-year-old student reports dreaming: I am sitting in my flat. One of my instructors enters and urinates in my kitchen. He makes it a point to expose himself to me prior to leaving. Not surprisingly, this student felt as though the instructor violated not just his free time, but also his person.

Upon further questioning, the student revealed feelings of underlying aggression, as well. The student feared the teacher could wilfully affront the student for little cause, simply by "pissing on" a term paper with an unwarranted "D" grade, for example. The message of the dream seems to include a sense that the student felt powerless to prevent the intrusion.

Urination is a symbol for territorial disputes. It is also a signal of dominance.

Water

Water is a very common but powerful dream symbol. Its meaning varies with the details and the mood of the dream. Running

Running is a traditional symbol of health and vitality in addition to being a means of fleeing potential danger. Thus running could be considered a dream of virility, as well as fear.

Usually, in a dream of running in which fear is the dominant emotion, you will find that you can either run all night and successfully escape the danger (albeit with a serious emotional drain), or you find that you continue to falter and stumble, making the object of your fear even more terrifying. Spider

Death

Deer
