The resolving of conflict and the achieving of balance and wholeness in the psyche. A longing for release from unconscious guilt-feelings.

Life's energy source. Love, passion, life itself. Losing blood may suggest you are losing energy because of inner conflicts or waking conflicts. Feelings of being emotionally drained. Dreaming that you are drinking blood may indicate that you have a thurst for vitality and power. Women often dream of blood or of someone bleeding shortly before or during their periods and when they are pregnant.

Also: Blood may be a symbol of life or physical, emotional, and/or spiritual energy. It may also symbolize passion, love or even anger. Dreaming that you are bleeding or losing blood may mean that you are feeling emotionally drained. Shedding blood may also represent guilt. Dreaming that something is written in blood may represent the energy you have put into a project. Drinking blood means receiving new life or new strength. "Displaced" blood may be menstrual blood which for a woman may represent a sexually related anxiety, and for a man may represent a fear of sex and/or of women.

Jesus often represents what in you is really your true self, as opposed to the ego self that you perceive yourself as being.

If the Jesus in your dream is the crucified Christ, it may be a symbol of martyrdom. If you identify with this figure, so that you are the wronged sufferer, ask yourself what purpose is being served by adopting this role> Does it make you happy? Well, pain may give you pleasure if it helps us to feel "different" and superior. (And that is often the other side of a martyrdom complex: an inflated view of self - inflated by fantasy.) But to get happiness by making yourself unhappy is self-contradictory.

Your dream is probably telling you to look at yourself objectively, to get rid of the fantasy that has taken possession of you.

If the Jesus is healing someone - the figures in a dream represent you - the figure probably represents Nature's power of healing that lies within yourself.. The fact that the healing Christ has appeared in your dream is a very good sign. It means that your unconscious is offering you its healing power. Don't refuse it.

If the Jesus figure is pronouncing forgiveness it may mean either you have been suffering from guilt-feelings and you have identified these as symptoms of an inner conflict and are now ready to let go of the guilt and the tensions; or that your unconscious is now offering you the means by which those guilt-feelings and the associated paralyzing anxiety can be laid to rest once and for all.

If the Jesus (Christ) figure is suggesting submission and self-surrender it may be showing you a pattern in your life that you need to change - a negative pattern of submitting to "fate" or "circumstances outside your control".

If the "risen" - resurrected - Jesus appears in your dream it may be taken as an auspicious sign of potential self-renewal: the possibility of rising to a new and fuller selfhood, leaving behind all deep internal conflict, anxiety and discontent.

A desire to escape from your present situation: external constraints or conflict.

A journey to a sacred place may signify you are now aware of your true self, not yet achieved but awareness in your conscious mind.

A destination not reached is an indication you are aware of your true self (or conditions in your life) and have not let it be a part of your life.

A voyage of discovery to unknown - previously unvisited - lands probably means your unconscious is inviting you to make its aquaintance. The sea is a common symbol of the unconscious.

The journey in the dream may tell you what is actually happening in your life at present, or less often - how you ought to live.

(2) Eagles live in high places and have been associated in primitive societies with the Sun God. An eagle may therefore appear in a dream as a messenger from a helpful source in your unconscious. Does it 'say" anything to you? If so, take it seriously and act accordingly. (Sun mat symbolize your true self.)

(3) An eagle has strong wings and may, therefore, symbolize something within you that can lift you - perhaps out of depression, towards the "light".

(4) The sun may be a symbol of consciousness, and so the eagle may signify a need to extend your conscious awareness. Perhaps you need to get better acquainted with the contents of your unconscious and integrate them into your conscious active life.

(5) Eagles have sometimes been associated with fertility. Psychologically speaking, fertility means bringing to life latent (hidden - undeveloped) powers in the psyche.

(6) Is the eagle paired in some way with a snake - holding a snake in its talons, for example? In mythology, eagle and snake represent the conflict of opposites. In psychological terms the opposites may be the conscious/unconscious; thought/instinct; spiritual/animal; masculine/feminine. The dream may be pointing out an area of inner conflict that needs your conscious intention. If so, bear in mind that a lasting resolution of conflict is never achieved by denying the right of one of the conflicting parties. Some balance of forces in the psyche is called for, so that every psychic component gets its proper share of attention and expression without threatening the rights of other components.

Eagle and lion (or some other animal) may have the same symbolism.
