Dream Dictionary Sky: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Sky

Sky [208]

  • To dream of the sky, signifies distinguished honors and interesting travel with cultured companions, if the sky is clear. Otherwise, it portends blasted expectations, and trouble with women.
  • To dream of floating in the sky among weird faces and animals, and wondering all the while if you are really awake, or only dreaming, foretells that all trouble, the most excruciating pain, that reach even the dullest sense will be distilled into one drop called jealousy, and will be inserted into your faithful love, and loyalty will suffer dethronement.
  • To see the sky turn red, indicates that public disquiet and rioting may be expected.

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Sky

Sky

Sunny skies denote happiness and prosperity, while cloudy or stormy skies foretell trouble ahead, perhaps family quarrels. The day sky represents the ability to see clearly, while the night sky hints at things hidden from view. The night sky, however, can also represent comfort and security. A sky full of stars, like sunny skies, is an omen of hope, and great opportunities lie ahead.

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dreams Interpretation Dictionary - Earth

Earth

(1) Contrasted with the sky, earth may symbolize a need to "keep your feet on the ground" or pay attention to "earthly" aspects of your being.

(2) It may be "Mother Earth", symbolizing your own mother. Bear in mind that earth, as well as giving birth to things, also swallows them up again (when they die). Similarly, your mother - or your attachment to her - may have a "devouring" aspect: one that hinders your individual development.

Mother Earth may also represent your unconscious. Life-giving energy comes up from the unconscious region. This is the "womb" that contains potential for further development. Again, this may present a negative effect: the unconscious may seem to be threatening the conscious ego's attempts to maintain order in your life. However, the menacing appearance of the unconscious is a sign that such "order" is precarious, having been achieved at the expense of neglecting important parts of your psyche. Wholeness is what counts.

(3) The planet earth seen as a sphere floating in space could be a symbol of your true self, as yet unrealized (i.e. not yet translated from idea or ideal into act and fact); wholeness, integration; or a weightless, relaxed "floating" with the life-giving currents that will carry you to fulfillment of your individual "destiny".

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dreams Interpretation Dictionary - Cliff

Cliff

To be at the edge of a cliff is to be where earth meets both sea and sky. Sky is a symbol of consciousness/masculinity; sea is the unconscious/femininity.

(1) What is symbolized may be a critical point in your life, a time for decision.

(2) The decision may be one concerning the polarity of male and female, the masculine and feminine components of your psyche. If you are a woman, it may be that a decision has to be made concerning the conflicting worlds of career and domesticity. (Sky would then symbolize masculine assertiveness and active participation in the world; sea, feminine attributes such as motherhood and nurturing.)

(3) The cliff edge may be the "end of the road", signifying that you have come as far as you can in a particular endeavor of lifestyle, and that something radically new is called for. Perhaps this new approach to living means entering into a close relationship with Nature (represented by the sea or sky) or bringing together the conscious and unconscious parts of your psyche.

It may be a question of whether you can find within yourself enough strength and faith to step out into the unknown future; or throw yourself off the cliff - that is, withdraw from life's challenge.

(4) The horizon may be the significant thing in the dream. This may mean you are being challenged to take a bigger view of things, to see life and/or yourself on a grander scale, in order to find a new and more satisfying motivation for your life.

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Ghosts

Ghosts : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Ghosts

Ghosts

To dream of the ghost of either one of your parents, denotes that you are exposed to danger, and you should be careful in forming partnerships with strangers.

To see the ghost of a dead friend, foretells that you will make a long journey with an unpleasant companion, and suffer disappointments.

For a ghost to speak to you, you will be decoyed into the hands of enemies. For a woman, this is a prognostication of widowhood and deception.

To see an angel or a ghost appear in the sky, denotes the loss of kindred and misfortunes.

To see a female ghost on your right in the sky and a male on your left, both of pleasing countenance, signifies a quick rise from obscurity to fame, but the honor and position will be filled only for a short space, as death will be a visitor and will bear you off.

To see a female ghost in long, clinging robes floating calmly through the sky, indicates that you will make progression in scientific studies and acquire wealth almost miraculously, but there will be an under note of sadness in your life.

To dream that you see the ghost of a living relative or friend, denotes that you are in danger of some friend's malice, and you are warned to carefully keep your affairs under personal supervision. If the ghost appears to be haggard, it may be the intimation of the early death of that friend.

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Sun

Sun

An astrological symbol depending very much on the circumstances and other symbols in the dream.

1. The Sun is the giver of life, and therefore dreaming of a bright Sun high in the sky is an omen that you will soon be able to live the kind of life you want. See Sky.

2. A Sun obscured by clouds implies that your current prospects are uncertain right now, and you may need to reevaluate your situation and make some adjustments.

3. The rising Sun represents beginnings and the setting Sun endings. Whether the beginnings or endings are positive depends on the circumstances (especially the weather) and the other symbols in the dream.

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Jupiter (Zeus)

Jupiter (Zeus)

Greek god Zeus and the Roman god Jupiter are one and the same. Zeus is the god of gods. He is the creator of day, thunder and lightning, the seasons and is the "sky god." Zeus holds supreme power and his decisions are not questioned as he is the father of gods and men. He represents external order and authority. His wisdom, power and sense of fairness supports the structure of the ancient Greek and Roman universe. Jupiter, or Zeus, is a "good father" that provides the opportunity for growth, development, prosperity and health. Jupiter, as a planet, has a central position among the other planets in the solar system. Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are on one side and Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto on the other. Astrologically, Jupiter represents balance, organization, abundance and optimism. If you are down on your luck or a bit disorganized, this dream may be calling for awareness of supportive internal and external forces. Our dreams often compensate for what is lacking in daily life. In this way, dreams attempt to balance the psyche. Thus, dreaming of Jupiter is reassuring and invites the dreamer to access the power in his own psyche and to embrace a positive attitude. Jupiter is a reminder that there is an order to the universe that provides us with an opportunity to have a prosperous, balanced and joyful life.

Fireworks

1. Watching fireworks burst into a rain of light in the sky is an omen of great good fortune ahead, particularly in romance.

2. If someone throws a firecracker at you, this is a sign of trouble, probably because of someone else. But if the firecracker turns out to be a dud, that person will not succeed.

3. Sparklers and Roman candles are portents of an increased social life and good times ahead.

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Jesus Christ, Jesus

Jesus Christ:

Always a positive symbol, though at times it can represent a warning. 1. If you yourself are following Jesus, wearing period garb, and actually observing his work, this could be a past-life memory, especially if the dream is especially vivid. Be sure and write down every detail you remember, because the dream is actually telling you a lot about you as well as about Jesus.

2. If Jesus is speaking to you in the here and now, again, when you awaken, write down everything he says that you can remember. It could be important.

3. If you see Jesus coming out of the sky, as in the prophecies of the Rapture, some momentous event is going to make a very major and positive difference in your life.

4. If you see Jesus speaking with other Masters - such as Krishna, Buddha, and Mohammed - again, write down what you hear. This is a message that can make a big difference to your spiritual progress.

Dream Dictionary Sky: New Age Spirituality Dictionary on Aboriginal Dreaming

Aboriginal Dreaming

An English expression adopted by Australian Aborigines to convey ideas that, though related in their thought, are not usually denoted by a single word in any of their languages.

One sense is that of a primordial epoch, the Dreaming or Dreamtime, when beings with remarkable powers arose from the ground, descended from the sky, or appeared from over the horizon. They gave the earth its shape by creating physical features (often from parts of their own bodies), fixed life in species form, established human culture, and gave everything its name.

These creative beings, who in their totality are the ultimate explanation of all things, are themselves called Dreamings (roughly equivalent to the anthropological term totems).

Their significance to the Aborigines is not merely historical but personal and social, for each individual and group gains a distinctive identity through its association with one or more Dreamings. In many regions it is held that such beings reincarnate themselves as humans, or that they left relics behind that, to this day, are sufficiently potent to impregnate women.

This sense of oneness, in which past and present, spirit being and human being, are somehow fused, is also seen in ceremonies in which the actors wear designs and make movements symbolic or mimetic of what the Dreamings did in the Dreamtime. By extension, from these two senses of Dreaming, the Aborigines form other expressions, such as Dreaming-place (a site at which a Dreaming was active and left something of itself) and Dreaming-track (an imagined path along which a Dreaming traveled from place to place in the primordial epoch).

Contrary to what is sometimes suggested, the term has no necessary connection with the verb to dream, even though present-day revelations to humans by Dreamings normally occur while the recipient is in a dream or trance state.

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Rainbow

Rainbow

Rainbows are colorful bridges that fall across the sky, but we can not walk across them (or use them to get to our pot of gold). Currently you may experience great joy and have extraordinary or even magical ideas, but remember that you can not walk across the rainbow bridge, so stay well-grounded. Usually a rainbow follows a rainstorm. If so, you have weathered a difficult time that is coming to closure, this dream symbol may represent your optimism. Generally, rainbows make people smile and feel happy. Thus, some may consider this dream a sign of your good luck.

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Hand

Hand:

1. A hand that is open and pointing towards the sky is giving the "Fear not!" gesture of ancient times. Therefore, if you see this symbol, whether the hand is of a person or is totally disembodied, something that you're afraid of is actually nothing to fear.

2. Beautiful, well-kept hands indicate satisfaction in life, while dirty hands indicate some kind of "mess" in your life that needs to be "cleaned up."

3. Hands that are working diligently indicate success and good fortune through the dreamer's own efforts.

4. Hands that caress the dreamer or someone else in the dream, including a pet, imply happiness in love, while hands that are waving in farewell indicate temporary separations.

5. Tied hands imply obstacles in attaining one's goals, while shaking hands imply either a new friend or a reunion with an old one.

6. Injured or bandaged hands indicates delays in attaining one's goals; look to other symbols in the dream to discern how these delays can be subverted, or, if they're inevitable, how best the time during the delays can be spent.

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Tower

Tower:

1. To dream of being alone in a tower is a sign that the dreamer is NOT in touch with certain circumstances or issues in his life, and needs to understand them thoroughly before taking any action - as in the metaphor, "ivory tower."

2. To see a tower against the sky implies true love and friendship either coming soon or already present in the dreamer's life.

3. To see a tower crumbling and falling implies upset and perhaps even disaster ahead, like The Tower card in the Tarot deck. To discern how to avert or deal with whatever is coming, look to other symbols in the dream.

4. Climbing a winding staircase within a tower indicates that you will have to travel a long way before you reach your most cherished goals.

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Clouds

Clouds

1. Bright, fluffy clouds in a clear sky indicate aspirations that you can attain if you work at them. A lot of such clouds imply success and happiness in romance.

2. Dark, stormy clouds indicate trouble ahead. If the storm ends and you’re still safe, then you’ll get past the trouble with few if any complications. But if the storm gets out of control, action must be taken immediately in order to prevent misfortune.

3. Clouds obscuring the sun indicate circumstances in your life that you either don’t know how to deal with or that seem worse than they are. Either way, this symbol is an augur of everything coming out right in the end.

Dream Dictionary Sky: Dream Interpretations Dictionary - Lark

Dream Interpretation Lark

A lark is a symbol of high intellectual goals. It also indicates that you have a better understanding of your past and present situation, and a better idea of your future. If you dream of a singing lark, it is a sign that your professional and private life is going well. Seeing a lark high in the sky is a good omen: life will get easier.
