Marx wrote: "Life is not determined by consciousness, but consciousness by life". He assumes that man's ability to think, and the quality of his thoughts depend largely on the quality of the life he lives. Marx's thrust is primarily to improve the living conditions of man, a pre-condition for intellectual growth. Marx thus attributes primacy to living by establishing a hierarchy of 'living' and 'thinking'. Descartes' cogito ergo sum (I think, therefore I am) can be placed antithetically to Marx's perception. The Cartesian proposition, which is translated as "I think, therefore I exist", subverts the Marxian hierarchy by attributing primacy to 'thinking'.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary perception: Orgasm and
ejaculationTantra: Orgasm and
ejaculation
Stated with extreme
simplicity, orgasm is an intensely beatific state of consciousness and
canceling of ego, with profound harmonizing, relaxing and regenerative effects.
Male and female ejaculation is only a complex physiologic process of
explosively energetic discharge with a dim manifestation of a brief, incipient
orgasm, experienced in a selfish unilateral way. During ejaculation, the energy
is quickly wasted and for no purpose (except when conception is wanted).

| | | | Dream Dictionary perception: Idealism
Idealism is the doctrine that whatever exists, or at least everything that can be known to exist, is mental. (Opposed to materialism: "All there is, is matter") On this view, tables may be real, and independent of our sensations of tables, as long as they are something like ideas - and provided ideas can cause sensations. Our sensations of tables are to some extent subjective, the sensations cannot exist except in perception. Therefore, nothing can be immediately known except what is in the mind.

| | | | | | Dream Dictionary perception: Definition of Metaphysics
The term metaphysics originally referred to the writings of Aristotle that came to light after his writings on physics, in the arrangement made by Andronicus of Rhodes, about three centuries after Aristotle's death. Traditionally, metaphysics refers to the branch of philosophy that attempts to understand the fundamental nature of all reality, whether visible or invisible. It seeks a description so basic, so essentially simple, and so all-inclusive that it applies to everything, whether divine or human or anything else. It attempts to tell what anything must be like in order to be at all.

| | | | Dream Dictionary perception: The Colour Indigo
The tertiary colour Indigo is manifest at the convergence of Violet and Blue within the Light Spectrum. Indigo is the colour of the 6th chakra - often referred to as the Ajna Chakra or "Third Eye" - partly because of its position over the Pineal Gland and between the brows, and partly because of it's association to paranormal "vision" - seeing beyond the capability of the eyes. Whereas Blue is the colour of transition - "the door to the other side" - Indigo, is the "other side". It is the colour of "synthesis"-which is the act of assembling "seemingly" separate - unrelated criteria into a complete or whole understanding. This translates through the human consciousness as KNOWING - but not knowing how you know.

chakras and channels of energyChakra
- Chakras: The
chakras and channels of energy
Inside every human being there is a network of nerves and sensory
organs that interprets the outside physical world. At the same time, within us
resides a subtle system of channels (nadis) and centers of energy
(chakras) which look after our physical, intellectual, emotional and
spiritual being.
Each of the seven chakras has several spiritual qualities. These
qualities are intact within us, and even though they might not always be
manifest, they can never be destroyed. When the Kundalini is awakened, these
qualities start manifesting spontaneously and express themselves in our life.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary perception: Encyclopedia II - Consciousness - Cognitive neuroscience approachesModern investigations into and discoveries about consciousness are based on psychological statistical studies and case studies of consciousness states and the deficits caused by lesions, stroke, injury, or surgery that disrupt the normal functioning of human senses and cognition. These discoveries suggest that the mind is a complex structure derived from various localized functions that are bound together with a unitary awareness.
Several studies point to common mechanisms in different clinical conditions that lead to loss of consciou ...

| | | | Dream Dictionary perception: How We Learn An Age-Old Lesson
Once while visiting an old age home, a resident asked me to join her for an evening cup of tea. While making tea, she looked at me closely and asked: "Aren't you Tina Munim?" When I nodded my head in the affirmative, her face lit up. The joy and elation I saw in her eyes moved me and changed my perception of the elderly. Now, I regularly visit homes for the aged; those are my special moments. My elderly friends tell me stories, and I tell them mine, and we share tales of life's little joys and sorrows. To them, I am not Tina Munim or Tina Ambani. I am just another human being who wants to be a part of their life..

| | | | Dream Dictionary perception: Madhva Siddhant - Bhakti and Gnana
Sri Madhvacharya, the 13th century dvaita philosopher, is believed to have his divine origin from Mukhyaprana or Vayu, who had in earlier yugas been born as Hanuman, the attendant of Lord Rama and Bhimasena, celebrated in the Mahabharata as the mightiest man, the destroyer of asuras born as kings. Sri Madhva was a dualist who believed in the verity of God, jeeva and matter existing eternally as distinct entities. His philosophy is a realistic and theistic philosophy. He advocated an active life emphasising duty, devotion and dedication.

| | | | Dream Dictionary perception: Encyclopedia II - Sense - List of Human sensesUsing this definition several senses can be identified.
Based on this outline and depending on the chosen method of classification, somewhere between 9 and 21 human senses have been identified. In addition, there are some other candidate physiological experiences which may or may not fall within the above classification (for example the sensory awareness of hunger and thirst). Finally, some individuals report synesthesia, the "crossing-over" of one sense to another, or even of senses associated with certain pure concepts. For example, the letter "A" may appear "black," certain no ...

| | | | | Dream Dictionary perception: Life Must Imitate Creative Art
Art is a great healer. By supplanting apprehension with inspiration and trading stress for relaxation, it tempers human physiology and attitude. Scientifically speaking, it improvises human brainwave pattern, autonomic nervous system, hormonal balance, brain neurotransmitters, immune system, and blood flow to various organs. Through self-expression, it rejuvenates the creator with an enlightened perception of within and without.

| | | | Dream Dictionary perception: Encyclopedia II - Epistemology - A priori versus a posteriori knowledgeWestern philosophers for centuries have distinguished between two kinds of knowledge: a priori and a posteriori knowledge.
A priori knowledge is knowledge gained or justified by reason alone, without the direct or indirect influence of any particular experience (here, experience usually means observation of the world through sense perception. See Rationalism, below, for clarification.)
A posteriori knowledge is any other sort of knowledge; that is, knowledge the attainment or justification of which requires referenc ...

| | | | Dream Dictionary perception: Life's a Bubble, It Could Burst
If you look up in the sky during the day, you see the Sun. That becomes the most dominant in your experience. In the night, if you look up, the stars become very dominant in your experience, but both the Sun and the stars - in fact, the Sun happens to be a star, too - look like puny little things when compared to the immense vastness of the sky. Generally, though, the sky is never in your conscious perception. So, true existence can be likened to the vastness of the sky. The Sun, the stars, you and me, are all just small happenings, very brief happenings, really

| | | | Dream Dictionary perception: New Perceptions
As we prepare ourselves for the upcoming school year, I thought this would be a good time to introduce you to a new perception about our children. Each generation has its unique characteristics that define new paradigms, forcing us to review our old systems and integrate a new way of thinking. Our educational system has been greatly challenged over the past 20 years and it is a reflection of the evolution of the mind and the spirit, as evidenced by our children and their special needs.

| | | | Dream Dictionary perception: Encyclopedia - ConsciousnessConsciousness is a quality of the mind generally regarded to comprise such key features as subjectivity, self-awareness, sentience, sapience, and the ability to perceive the relationship between oneself and one's environment. It is a subject of much research in philosophy of mind, psychology, neurology, and cognitive science.
Some philosophers divide consciousness into phenomenal consciousness, which is experience itself, and access consciousness, which is the processing of the things in experience (Block 2004). Others consider ...
