- Woman
Woman A woman or women generally represent intuition, creativity, nurturing, and love. At times they can also represent the negative attributes which are given to women and include physical and emotional weakness, gossip, martyrdom, passivity, moodiness, temptation, and guilt. The content of the dream is to be considered, as well as the emotional tone. If the dream is sexual in nature, look up sex. If the woman in your dream was a stranger and you are a man, she could be symbolic of your feminine side or your attitude about women. If you are a woman, this stranger may be symbolic of different parts of your character or personality. Carl Jung believed that the unknown woman in a man's dream is the Anima. It is the "personification of the animated psychic atmosphere; the autonomous activity of the unconscious." Thus, when you meet an unknown woman in your dreams, pay close attention to what she is saying and doing. It is Carl Jung who suggested that women in dreams represent our collective unconscious and men collective consciousness. Thus, the woman is that force or current inside of you that nudges you on and inspires you. It is your intuition and the knowledge that in not necessarily attached to words. Men, on the other hand, represent the active part that uses the information received to create the physical reality of our lives. When the two are working together well we have balance and experience awareness that leads to peace and productivity. See also: Meaning of Dreams about People, Old Woman, and Mother

| | | | Dream Dictionary Nature: Do dreams predict the future?
Dream FAQ
Dictionary: Do dreams predict the future?
Do dreams predict the future? A. This, like many other things commonly referred to as "paranormal",is to be considered unknown. There is much evidence against it, itwould contradict the laws of nature as recognized by most scientiststoday. (Any information getting from future to past would have tobreak the speed of light, which is impossible. More on this can befound in the sci.physics FAQ postings.) However, many people insiston having experienced "deja-vu" like situations where they came into asetting they already had dreamed of. Could they prove it? Probablynot (cf. section 5.3) but this fact alone doesn't prove theexperiences invalid. (Proving a subjective experience *wrong* isimpossible.) Now, how come the many deja-vus? A common explanation is a smallmisfunction of the brain. Some piece of information, like the look ofa particular place where you haven't been before, gets from short-terminto long-term memory via some sort of "shortcut" rather than theusual remembrance mechanism. (How this exactly works is currently notknown in detail.) Then, when matching short-term against long-termmemory, you think that you have the piece in long-term memory fromsomewhere in the past while it has entered long-term memory justrecently. This could explain some of the instances, but the possibility of themind "travelling in time" (or place, cf. section 4.1) can not bedismissed - many people claim they have done it and can do it again. Dictionary - Religion
Religion - If you dream of discussing religion and feel religiously inclined, you will find much to mar the calmness of your life, and business will turn a disagreeable front to you.
- If a young woman imagines that she is over religious, she will disgust her lover with her efforts to act ingenuous innocence and goodness.
- If she is irreligious and not a transgressor, it foretells that she will have that independent frankness and kind consideration for others, which wins for women profound respect, and love from the opposite sex as well as her own; but if she is a transgressor in the eyes of religion, she will find that there are moral laws, which, if disregarded, will place her outside the pale of honest recognition. She should look well after her conduct. If she weeps over religion, she will be disappointed in the desires of her heart. If she is defiant, but innocent of offence, she will shoulder burdens bravely, and stand firm against deceitful admonitions.
- If you are self-reproached in the midst of a religious excitement, you will find that you will be almost induced to give up your own personality to please some one whom you hold in reverent esteem.
- To see religion declining in power, denotes that your life will be more in harmony with creation than formerly. Your prejudices will not be so aggressive.
- To dream that a minister in a social way tells you that he has given up his work, foretells that you will be the recipient of unexpected tidings of a favorable nature, but if in a professional and warning way, it foretells that you will be overtaken in your deceitful intriguing, or other disappointments will follow.
- (These dreams are sometimes fulfilled literally in actual life. When this is so, they may have no symbolical meaning. Religion is thrown around men to protect them from vice, so when they propose secretly in their minds to ignore its teachings, they are likely to see a minister or some place of church worship in a dream as a warning against their contemplated action. If they live pure and correct lives as indicated by the church, they will see little of the solemnity of the church or preachers.)

| | | | Dream Dictionary Nature: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Various Bird Symbology:
Birds : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Various Bird Symbology:
Various Bird Symbology: White Dove: well known symbol of peace; a symbol of the Holy Spirit descending on Christ, as depicted in many artistic works. A pair of white doves is a common symbol of love and devotion. Mourning Dove: commonly thought of as a potential symbol of upcoming death to someone you know, but only if it is seen in unusual circumstances and not just eating at the bird feeder or sitting on a telephone line. Eagle: Among the 7 mortal sins, depicts pride; among the 4 cardinal virtues, justice. Symbol of John the Evangelist, depicting spiritual cognition, faith, healing and ascension. Similar powerful symbol of the Great Spirit to the American Indians, who use it's feathers in many ceremonial dress & implements. Goose: symbol of fidelity and loyalty. Could also be a metaphor for "being goosed" or "acting like a goose." Ostrich: closing eyes to unpleasant facts. Just mentioning "Y2K" will make many ostriches out of you! <smile> Also a symbol of meditation, since the Ostrich parent does not sit and hatch it's eggs, but lets the sun do it's work while it guards them vigilantly. Owl: wisdom, as portrayed in so many children's stories and cartoons. Peacock: pride, vanity and showing off due to the male's proud strut; but the male does this as part of his mating ritual to get the attention of the female, so I would apply this as such. It is used to symbolize the American CBS network, and a metaphor could be "showing your true colors." The peacock also symbolizes joy in the afterlife. True story: my mother & I visited my grandmother's grave one afternoon to find a living, breathing peacock standing there staring at us. When I found out that it symbolized "joy in the afterlife," you can imagine how special that was. How often does one find a peacock standing on a grave? Coincidence, my foot! Nightingale: symbolizes yearning and pain; in Christianity it symbolizes the longing for heaven. Raven: intelligence; oftentimes depicting things we really prefer not to hear. Stork: instantly recognizable in our culture as a symbol that a baby has been delivered or is due, possibly due to the young stork's habit of gratefully feeding it's parents when it becomes a fledgling; or due to the stork's return after winter migration, when nature begins anew. Swan: transformation, as in from "ugly duckling" into a beautiful swan. Also symbolizes loyalty and fidelity. Turkey: Is any American unfamiliar with the symbology of "Turkey Day?" Also referred to as a metaphor often used to describe something as being silly, or an embarrassing failure or dud. Vulture: impending death, or a metaphor for waiting to take advantage of someone in dire trouble, as in "the vultures are circling." Egg: symbolizes primal beginnings from which all life springs forth; also in Christianity this is a symbol of resurrection (ever wonder where the thought of Easter Eggs came from?), as in Christ breaking out of his tomb similar to a chick breaking free from it's egg. Could also have metaphorical influence, such as the age-old question, "Which came first--the chicken or the egg?" In this manner it could be saying, "Some questions can never be answered by mere humans, so quit agonizing over a problem without solutions and deal with what-is, as it is." Other types of symbology involving birds: metaphors such as "bird-brain", "You eat like a bird", "birds of a feather flock together," "that's for the birds", "A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush", "feathered friends", etc. Just apply the metaphor to the context of your dream to get the gist of what the symbology entails. Also helpful is relating bird dream symbols to song lyrics. Think of how many different songs mention birds in one way or another. Courtesy to: http://www.readersdigest.ca

Interpretation - Angels
Angels Jacob wrestled the angel, and the angel was overcome. - Bono, U2, Rattle and Hum The word 'angel' literally means 'messenger.' Often, delivery of a particular message in the dream is the role filled by these beings. As the needs arise, they may provide additional help to the dreamer beyond simply delivering information. Since so many religions and contemporary worldviews have made room for angels in their understanding of the universe, this topic needs to be broken down a little more. The philosopher Carl Jung had room in his worldview for 'spirit guides'. These were apparitions that shared both knowledge and insight. This insight came as dialogue. Consequently, the Jungian angel was something of a spiritual mentor. Religious angels have usually served more as ambassadors. They come with specific information, but not much dialogue. They are dispatched for specific purposes. Revelation, not dialogue, is the mission of the angel in this context. Beginning with popular literature of the 1970s, angels have become more involved with tangible needs of this world. Tyres are repaired, oncoming traffic is diverted, and rickety homes are preserved from the weather by angels. This seems to be a reflection on the growing interest in finding a reliable help in a malevolent world. Angels have also become, in a sense, the sort of instant wish-granter. Some people dream of angels helping them in this way. In this sort of case, you may be turning toward an actual friend in real life to give you something. Many angels in dreams represent help from an unknown and unseeable origin to survive a difficult situation. You are turning out into the unknown, expecting help from beyond your actual means. This could be called 'wish-projection.' Finally, the angel may be what the name implies: a message. To discern which type of angel you have in your dreams requires some energy. Does your worldview include the possibility of such beings? If not, your angel may be wish-projection. Did your angel speak or act mysteriously? If the angel spoke, what was the content? If the angel merely acted, what was the nature of the action? What area of your life seems to need a special solution that exceeds your resources? Do you feel emotionally unsupported in one of your personal quests or spiritual struggles? See also Death and Magical powers

| | | | Dream Dictionary Nature: Dream Interpretation
- Sex, Sexual Dreams
Sex, Sexual Dreams Interpreting sexual dreams Sexual dreams are not about sex exclusively. Often they are about how we perceive people and how we think others are perceiving us. To construct a framework for interpreting sexual dreams, it is important to identify who is with us in the dream and how we feel about the experiences being had while dreaming. Certain dreams are simply romantic. Boy and girl meet in the dream state and find themselves enjoying one another. This scenario commonly involves an attractive acquaintance and a generally pleasing environment. There is no violation of taboo, except for a sense that perhaps things are moving a little fast in the nocturnal relationship. Often, the dreamer has simply acted upon a desire for a relationship with a particular person - Freud's theory of wish-fulfillment is a sufficient explanation. Other dreams begin to press on the boundaries of our taboos. These include dreams with sexual content the dreamer would consider inappropriate in waking, but participates in during the dream. These dreams can be very troubling. One can wake up feeling as though a rape was committed, a fidelity violated, or that innocence has been stripped away. Dreams of this nature may require some more thorough examination. Identifying the 'who' or 'what' that has generated discomfort is an important first step. Was it a boss, co-worker, friend? Someone much older or younger than you with whom you have an affectionate, but platonic relationship? Or was it the nature of the encounter - coerced, cheating, public, or whatever - that is the most distinct feature of the dream? Who was forcing whom? Was it a stranger who reminded you of someone you know? Representation and displacement relationships are often components of sexual dreaming. Some of these dreams indicate our own ambivalence about taboos. There is, after all, something exciting about what is forbidden. In other cases, we are expressing our own frustration with a sex life that is not satisfying. Still other times, others have violated our boundaries and we respond by thinking they have taken unmerited favours from us. In all of these cases, the dreams are worth noting and studying. By looking into what you may find abhorrent at first, you will see aspects of your personality and the relationships around you that are mostly unnoticed. Perhaps most importantly, you will become more aware of the various facets of your personality in those relationships. See also Nudity, bed, out-of-body experience, pregnancy and rape.

Chased : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Being Chased
BEING CHASED IN A DREAM This is the most common negative dream. Did you know that the cultural identity of the dreamer could determine the nature of the pursuer? You could say that people from the same country sometimes have the same creatures chasing them - In India, children dream of being chases by bats
- In Switzerland, a wolf chasing you, would be a common dream
- While in Canada the pursuers are bears
- After the release of the movie ÔJawsÕ, many dreamed that sharks attacked or chased them!
You are running away, rather than confronting an issue. ThatÕs what a chasing dream often mean, say experts. A wish to get away from the over protected environment of your parentsÕ home, could be a more specific explanation. Or is it an attempt to live life your own way?
