The Bhagavata Purana and other works tell us stories of how the divine is always trying to break away from its divine fetters. When you are pervasive and omnipresent, how can you have the freedom to play? Being omnipresent, you are constantly watched by those who adore you, worship you and serve you. You need a disguise.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Dream Dictionary Krishna: The Concept Of AvataraAvatara is the decent of God on earth for the
ascent of man. The Lord Krishna says: - Though unborn, the Imperishable Self
and also the Lord of all beings, yet brooding over nature which is Mine own, I
am born through My Own Power. Whenever there is decline of righteousness, then
I Myself come forth. For the protection of the good, for the destruction of the
evil-doers, for the sake of firmly establishing righteousness, I am born from
age to age - (Ch. IV-6,
7, 8).

New Age
Spirituality Dictionary on Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa
Rama, Rama Krishna or Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa (1836-86) A Hindu mystic. He was born of a poor Brahman family in Bengal, and his given name was Gadadhar Chatterlee. In about 1855 he became a devotee of the goddess Kali and lived for the rest of his life at her temple in Dakshineswar outside Calcutta. During a 15-year period of intense spiritual practice he mastered all the types of Hindu Yoga and also had mystical experience through Christian and Islamic worship. He concluded that all religions are valid means of approaching God. Ramakrishna had little formal learning, but his saintliness and wisdom attracted a large following. After his death his teachings were spread by his disciples and by his wife Sarada Devi. Ramakrishna's message of universal religion was carried to the West by Swami Vivekananda. The Ramakrishna Mission, founded by Vivekananda, is represented by a large monastic order in India, devoted to both contemplation and social action, and by centers in major cities of Europe and the US. Ramakrishna's sayings are contained in The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna

| | | | Dream Dictionary Krishna: Krishna's Advice for Resolving Conflict
To be born a human being with the unique faculties of discrimination and choice is both a great blessing and a terrible curse. This is because exercising one's choice often creates conflicts. One can neither live with conflict nor solve conflict through suppression or desensitising the mind temporarily - the conflicts simply resurface. So it seems that there is no permanent solution to conflict, and hence in this matter we are left with no choice. But should we give up so easily? Don't we deserve to be free from conflict?

When Bana’s daughter Usha hid Krishna’s grandson Aniruddha in Bana’s palace, the demon arrested Aniruddha, and a battle ensued between Krishna and Lord Siva. Hinduism Dictionary on Yajur Veda
Yajur Veda: (Sanskrit) "Wisdom of sacrificial formulas." One of the four compendia of revelatory texts called Vedas (Rig, Sama, Yajur and Atharva). When used alone, the term Yajur Veda generally refers to this Veda's central and oldest portion - the Samhita, "hymn collection." Of this there are two recensions: 1) the Krishna ("black") Yajur Veda (so-called because the commentary, Brahmana, material is mixed with the hymns); and 2) the Shukla ("white or clear") Yajur Veda (with no commentary among the hymns). The contents of these two recensions are also presented in different order. The Yajur Veda Samhita is divided into 40 chapters and contains 1,975 stanzas. About 30 percent of the stanzas are drawn from the Rig Veda Samhita (particularly from chapters eight and nine). This Veda is a special collection of hymns to be chanted during yajna. The Krishna Yajur Veda Samhita exists today in various recensions, most importantly the Taittiriya Samhita and the Maitrayani Samhita. The Shukla Yajur Veda Samhita is preserved most prominently as the Vajasaneyi Samhita. See: Vedas.

Sai Baba Dictionary on Caitanya-caritamrita
Caitanya-caritamrita:
Caitanya-caritamrita: The book of Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami about the life and teachings of Lord Caitanya. 'The New Testament' of the Caitanya-vaishnava. "So here is a very specific statement about S'ri Caitanya Mahaprabhu," said Prabhupada. "He is avatara. Caitanya Mahaprabhu is the same Supreme Personality of Godhead, but He is channa. Channa means covered, not directly. Because He has appeared as a devotee." S'rila Prabhupada explained why the Supreme Lord appeared in Kali-yuga as a devotee. " When Lord Krishna appeared, He ordered everyone to 'Surrender to Me.' But they took it, 'Who is this person asking like that? What right does he have? Why shall I give up?' But God Himself, the Supreme Being, He must order. That is God. But we think otherwise: 'Who is this man? Why is he ordering? Why shall I give up?' " The whole process of Krishna consciousness is submission, surrender to Krishna, S'rila Prabhupada explained. But the way to surrender to Krishna is to submit to His devotee, His representative. "S'ri Caitanya Mahaprabhu appeared this day for giving mercy to the fallen souls who are so foolish they cannot take to Krishna consciousness. He is personally teaching them. That is this kirtana".
