Corner - This is an unfavorable dream if the dreamer is frightened and secretes himself in a corner for safety.

Dream FAQ
Dictionary: Keeping a Dream Diary
Keeping a Dream Diary Remember, however, that a recurring dream may also have a relevance to some current problem or preoccupation. Consider, for instance, a recurring dream in which a dog appears in a frightening context. It may be based on a subconscious fear of dogs; maybe one frightened you when you were in your cradle, an incident which you have completely forgotten. If you dream of being chased by a dog, the dream may well have its basis in such an incident, but i may recur when you are consciously or unconsciously feeling insecure and vulnerable, under circumstances as different as being offered a position of authority at work, for which you feel unready, or trying to decide whether to make an approach to a woman you fancy, but fearing rejection. Predictive Dreams We have always treated predictive dreams with great caution. There are some published examples which are, to say the least, extremely persuasive, and if many of them can be rationally explained, there are others which cannot. It would obviously be silly to look for predictions in every dream we have. Many people, on the night before a long flight, dream of an aircraft crashing. It is impossible to know for how many this has been a fatal prediction, but the number seems unlikely to be large. Source: http://library.thinkquest.org/C005545/english/dream/lucid.htm

| | | | | | | | Dream Dictionary Frightened: A Different Kind of Memory What do Indigos Dream?
I have taught many parents how to interpret their children's dreams. Knowing the language of mind gives you an invaluable window into your child's consciousness. When Briana was eleven I asked her parents, who are both dream interpreters, how often she remembered her dreams. Her mother, Teresa, said she remembered about four every week. Teresa also thought Bri had an idea of what her dreams meant. I encouraged her to listen to Briana's ideas and build upon them. When Teresa said sometimes it was like "pulling teeth to get her to express her thoughts," I suggested she encourage Bri to draw or even act out her dreams.

Spiritual Theosophical
Dictionary on
Paranellatons
Paranellatons. In ancient Astronomy the name was applied to certain stars and constellations which are extra Zodiacal, lying above and below the constellations of the Zodiac; they were 36 in number: allotted to the Decans, or one-third parts of each sign. The paranellatons ascend or descend with the Decans alternately, thus when Scorpio rises, Orion in its paranellaton sets, also Auriga; this gave rise to the fable that the horses of Phaeton, the Sun, were frightened by a Scorpion, and the Charioteer fell into the River Po; that is the constellation of the River Eridanus which lies below Auriga the star.

GUARD PAGANISMReflections on OLD GUARD PAGANISM
'Old Guard Paganism'. The phrase
started out as a joke, but then caught on. This tells us something. It tells us
there is a NEED for such a term. It also implies its own antithesis, 'New Guard
Paganism'. And it indicates that there is some difference between the two -- a
'difference that makes a difference' -- and thus requires differentiating
labels. (It should perhaps be noted that the word 'Paganism' is used in the
present context -- however inaccurately -- to refer to modern Neo-Pagan
Witchcraft, or Wicca. With grave misgivings, I have adopted this usage here.)

| | | | Dream Dictionary Frightened: Sex Is Not CompulsoryCelibacy: Sex Is Not Compulsory
Most of the sex advice books written
during 1960s underlined the idea that the world could be saved by sex -
without, of course, enduring the messy and inconvenient complications of an
unwanted pregnancy. Many therapists of that era encouraged their neurotic and
mentally disturbed patients to 'find themselves' and become better balanced
individuals through positive experiences of sex. Sometimes, surrogate partners
would be provided for the purpose. We liked to believe then that much mental
illness as well, resulted from long-held repressions, and that these could be
released through sex.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Frightened: Moksha - Break Free from Fear of Death
Death perhaps is the only certainty in this world. Yet, the fear of death stalks most people. Literature - western and Indian - regards the fear of death as an intriguing and ubiquitous part of human life. We know we are mortals, yet we are afraid of the inevitable. We know we will die one day; yet we continue to behave as though we believe we are going to live forever. In Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, Caesar is surprised to find that people are frightened of death, which is after all an end that comes when it will. A similar spirit pervades the renowned dialogue between the Yaksha and Yudhishthira in the Mahabharata.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary Frightened: All that Exists is Total Awareness
Scriptures by themselves cannot make a person enlightened. They give knowledge, not wisdom. But the Ashtavakra Gita is different. This scripture negates every facet of life, except supreme consciousness. Sage Ashtavakra says to Janaka: "My son, you recite or listen to countless scriptures, but you will not be established within until you can forget everything"(16.1). He stresses the import of knowing one's own self. A person may quote extensively from the Bhagavad Gita or the Upanishads. But only through self-knowledge can he even begin to discover the stainless truth.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Frightened: The Elephant And The Monk - A Story of Compassion
Once there lived a strong, young elephant named Meruprabh. One day a part of a huge forest caught fire and the fire spread rapidly, fanned by strong winds. The animals were scared. When would the fire stop? Meruprabh along with 700 other elephants cleared one part of the forest of vegetation to prevent the fire from spreading. This clearing became a haven for animals seeking shelter from the fire and they huddled there till the fire went out. Animals who normally hunted each other now sat or stood close in amity. Fear was palpable.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Frightened: Shanidev is Partly Shiva's AvatarShanidev is Partly Shiva's Avatar
Shani or Shanichar (Saturn) is
believed to be the son of Surya the Sun-god and Chhaya. So he is also called
Saura. His other names include Kruradris and Kruralochana (the
cruel-eyed), Mandu (dull or slow), Pangu (physically challenged),
Saptarchi (seven-eyed) and Asita (dark). Shani is believed to wield evil
influence, so anyone born under his influence is at risk. Hence the day named
after him, Shanivara, is considered inauspicious to begin any new venture.
