Every year, I eagerly await the month of Ramzan. Fasting and praying during the month prepares me to move closer to God. Fasting is not restricted to food and drink; it includes distancing oneself from negative attributes like hypocrisy, covetousness, falsity, backbiting and envy, among others. Surprisingly and fortunately, the after-effects of this regulated and sanitised lifestyle adopted during Ramzan lingers for several months afterward, enabling one to work towards greater control over one's actions.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Clearing the Path for prayersOne of the first goals in Huna practice is
becoming the kind of person whose prayers are answered. In the process of Huna
prayer, you carefully form the thought forms you want to manifest. After you
have a clear picture in your mind of what you want, you build up a surcharge of
mana, do the Ha Ritual and send the seeds (thought forms) along your aka cords
to the lower self. The lower self carries these on the aka cords to the high
self and Aumakua.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Harder than saying sorry
American Biswanath Halder had always nursed what he believed was a legitimate grudge against his old college. Three years ago he went berserk which left Norman Wallace, a young student, dead. While sentencing him to life imprisonment, the judge told a seemingly nonrepentant Halder that some of Wallace's relatives were in court and that he owed them an apology. Halder responded with: "It's a terrific tragedy and I'm exceptionally sorry." To this, one of the victim's brothers replied: "I do forgive you. I don't want to have that on me. I don't want to be like you." Genuine apologies are, of course, very difficult and Halder's was nowhere near that.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Lord’s Prayer: Common Prayer For Uncommon Wisdom
The Lord’s Prayer ("Our Father Who Art in Heaven...") is the best known and most popular prayer of Christians. Jesus taught his disciples this prayer when they asked him how to pray. Analysing The Lord’s Prayer, Gerhard Ebeling says that " Abba father", the words Jesus used to call on God, signify "My father" or "our father", which is an invocation we can use when all words fail, when we become speechless. We can approach God in the familiar confident way a child approaches a loving parent.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Universal Laws - Law of Attraction
Are there any laws governing the Universe? Yes, but not in the sense that a lawmaker has devised a law. Laws exist which are natural laws, similar to the Laws of Physics that your scientists recognise. The primary law is the Law of Love; all things exist within this law and are created out of it. Love is the total and complete acceptance of what is. Love allows. Love is about allowing yourself to be who and what you are and allowing that same right to all others. Without the Law of Love, free will could not exist, for free will is free will.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Community Efforts For Amity And Peace
Advocates of peace all over the world continue with their avowed mission. They are working towards creating greater awareness of the need for promoting universal feelings of amity and compassion. The annual Maramon Convention held recently in Kerala - which was first organised in 1896 by the Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar, an ancient Christian community of India - is one such collective effort to bring out the spiritual essence of the Word of God.

KaliyaKrishna and Kaliya: Good fights
Evil - Krishna and Kaliya
It is a universal law: If we have
ego, we will suffer. If we are arrogant, again, we will suffer till we are
forced to surrender. The subduing of Kaliya the serpent by Krishna illustrates
this.
The tenth canto of the Srimad Bhagvatam recounts the
Kaliya daman lila performed by Krishna. Kaliya was a venomous serpent that
lived in the Yamuna river. One summer Krishna's cowherd friends fainted and
died when they drank water from the Yamuna. Kaliya had contaminated the river
so much that vapour from the river was lethal enough to kill birds flying
across.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Samanya DharmaSamanya Dharma
is the general Dharma or law for all men. Varnasrama Dharmas are special
Dharmas which are to be practised by particular castes and by men in particular
stages of life. The Samanya Dharmas must be practised by all, irrespective of
distinctions of Varna and Asrama, creed or colour. Goodness is not the property
of any one class, creed, sect or community. Every man should possess this
virtue.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Make The Most Of Your Life
We have our ups and downs, successes and failures, elations and disappointments. Nothing is certain but change. Winners turn losers and vice versa, for that is the law of nature. Impermanence is a permanent feature of life. The best way to deal with the transiency is to learn to maximise our spiritual quotient. Many of us know of Stephen Covey's Seven Habits of Highly Effective People where he elaborates on habits we need to acquire in order to be effective. Twenty virtues have been elaborated by Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Capital Punishment Kills Compassion
A punishment that destroys the condemned, degrades the executioner, arouses public manifestations of sadism and excites a hideous vainglory in certain criminals, while forestalling nothing, is in truth only a form of revenge: A punishment that penalises without forestalling is indeed called revenge. It is a quasi-arithmetical reply made by society to whoever breaks its primordial law.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Encyclopedia II - Salvation - Christian views of salvationSalvation is arguably one of the most important Christian spiritual concepts, perhaps second only to the deity of Jesus Christ.
Among Christians, the primary goal of religion is to attain salvation. Others maintain that the primary goal of Christians is to do the will of God, or that the two are equivalent. In many traditions, attaining salvation is synonymous with going to heaven after death, while most also emphasize that salvation represents a changed life while on Earth as well. Many elements of Christian theo ...

| | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Encyclopedia II - Abrahamic religion - AfterlifeMost Abrahamic religions agree that a human being comprises the body, which dies, and the soul, which need not do so. The soul, capable of remaining alive beyond human death, carries the essence of that person with it, and God will judge that persons life accordingly after they die. The importance of this, the focus on it, and the precise criteria and end result differs between religions.
Reincarnation and transmigration tend not to feature proeminently in Abrahamic religions. Although as a rule they all look to some form of afterlife ...

Yom Kippur - Forgiveness and vidduy.
According to the Talmud, God opens three books on the first day of the year; one for the thoroughly wicked, another for the thoroughly pious, and the third for the large intermediate class. The fate of the thoroughly wicked and the thoroughly pious is determined on the spot; the destiny of the intermediate class is suspended until Yom Kippur, when the fate of everyone is sealed. The liturgical piece Unetanneh Tokef (attributed to Rabbi Amnon of Mainz) states: ...

| | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Dnyaneshwar's Gita Has Popular Appeal
Sant Dnyaneshwar realised that the Gita's teachings could be read and understood only by a small Sanskrit-knowing elite. Dnyaneshwar, under the advice of his guru, Nivrathinath, rendered a Marathi version of the Gita known as Dnyaneshwari. It contains more than 9,000 verses called ovies. So Sant Dnyaneshwar brought the teachings of the Gita within reach of the common man. Dnyaneshwari was composed around the twelfth century, when Dnyaneshwar was only 16 years old. He took samadhi at the age of 22 and left this mortal world.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Forgiveness: Pilgrimage of Faith - Chishti's Shrine
Pilgrims are flocking to the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at Ajmer on the occasion of the annual Urs. Popularly known as Khwaja Gharib Nawaz, the dargah symbolises a touching synthesis of the hopes and prayers of various faiths and communities. Both Hindus and Muslims remember Moinuddin Chishti as Khwaja Gharib Nawaz, revering him for his simple teachings and eclectic philosophy. The Khwaja believed that no spiritual exercise, penitence, prayer, or vigil had greater value than bringing succour to distressed hearts and helping the needy. He directed all his efforts towards alleviation of human misery.

Subtle Bodies: The Yogic Anatomy of Human
Potentialities
Through exceedingly detailed
meditations over thousands of hours, the yogis determined that the human body
is far more than a configuration of fleshy organs, bones, and fluids. Composed
of five gradients or koshas, literally, "sheaths," with each one
more interior and more subtle than the previous one, we are the actual
"bridge" from the physical to the spiritual. Each sheath exerts a
guiding intelligence over the next more dense sheath in the following order:
the individual soul and causal body (jiva and anandamaya kosha), the
reflective-intellectual body (vijnanamaya kosha), mental-emotional body (manomaya
kosha), vital energy body (pranamaya kosha),and the physical body (annamaya
kosha). Through this anatomy of increasingly interior bodies, yoga maps the
emotionality and sentient capacities of the intimus itself and thus the way
toward deepening our intimacy with one another and the world.
