Those things about yourself you consider private. Protecting or covering up your sexual feelings. A need to express or reveal your feelings/emotions.

Exposing what is underneath the ego-self; exposing the true self, or emotions.

(1) By virtue of its sexual associations, dancing may represent a coming together - courtship - of the masculine (animus) and feminine (anima) side of one's nature. See anima - animus HERE

(2) Joining a dance probably means relating cooperatively with the other person or group. What does that person or group symbolize? It may be some part of you: your hidden self, with its mulitude of emotions, instinctive impulses, ideas, ideals, beliefs/prejudices, attitudes, ambitions, etc.

(3) Perhaps it is the "dance of life". Participating/not participating in the dance would then mean relating harmoniously with Nature (or your unconscious)/being out of step with it. (Dancing clumsily may signify that you are "out of step".)

(4) If the dance is a frenzied solo performance, it may represent some kind of "possession", indicating that some psychic element (unconscious)is threatening to take you over. If this is the case, you need to identify the causes of any compulsive behaviour you observe in yourself; and then to come to terms with it - which will usually mean either making space in your life for some hitherto repressed part of you; or getting rid of (repressed) guilt-feelings; or both.

Dancing may be a sexual symbol, representing sexual intercourse.

Your persona, the image you see yourself as (this is not the real you, only a part of your true self). Covering up the real you; covering up your true emotions about some aspect in your life.

Your true life on display; follow the scenes in the dream. Scenes depict current thinking, emotions, perceptions, relationships and provide insights on problems without a bias, as they really are and not always as you perceive them in your waking life. The characters in the movie often represent different aspects of yourself. You are the producer and director and have control. Change what needs to be change.

Merging of competing emotions. Lacking full understanding of oneself. The positive aspect of a bad situation.

May symbolize hidden emotions or your complexes. It may point to emotions and relationships that you did not recognize.

Going through transformations, changes. Changes in your unconscious self that can be beneficial to your conscious being. Changes having to do with heavy emotions, anger, fear, passion.

Dreaming that you are drowning means that you are overwhelmed by emotions or repressed issues that is coming back to haunt you. You may be proceeding too quickly in trying to discover your unconscious thoughts and therefore must proceed more cautiously and slowly. If you drown to death, then is refers to an emotional rebirth. If you survive the drowning, then a waking relationship or situation will ultimately survive the turmoil. Seeing someone drowning in your dream, suggests that you are becoming too deeply involved in something that is beyond your control. Alternatively, it represents a sense of loss in your own identity. You are unable to differentiate who you are anymore. Dreaming that you rescue someone from drowning indicates that you have successfully acknowledged certain emotions and characteristics that is symbolized by the drowning victim.

(1)Hands may symbolize ability, particularly - but not exclusively - practical and social.

(2) hands may symbolize the emotions. Washing your hands? What do you think you are guilty of?

(3) What is the hand doing: striking, stroking, blessing, healing? Is it a male or female hand? Left or right?

(4) Are your hands tied? What is it in your situation or in your attitudes that prevents you from functioning at your full potential, or from doing what you should be doing?
