We all yearn for the improvement of our fortunes. So we wish to know the future. Palmistry is an effective reflector of what the future holds for us. Indian ascetics have said that one should take a good look at the palms of both hands for good fortune and luck before getting out of bed early in the morning. The hand is a symbol of mystic power for it mirrors the individual personality. Those who desire improvement, invigoration and achievement in their lives should rise early in the morning and look at their palms, and then rub them over the face lightly.

| | | | | | | | | Dream Dictionary divine: The Hindu Godess Mother KaliMOTHER
KALI
The
Destroyer of Demoniac Attributes
It is
unfortunate that Devi is ignorantly understood by many as a mere blood-thirsty
Hindu Goddess. No! Devi is not a vicious demoness nor is She the property of
the Hindus alone. Devi does not belong to any religion. Devi is that conscious
power of God. The words Devi, Shakti, etc., and the ideas of different forms
connected with these names are concessions granted by the sages due to the
limitations of the human intellect; they are by no means the ultimate
definitions of Shakti.

Sivananda.

| | | | Dream Dictionary divine: Mystical Dimension Of
Jewish ThoughtKabbala: Mystical Dimension Of
Jewish Thought
The word Kabbala originally meant
Ôreception' and related to the oral Jewish tradition handed down by Rabbis from
generation to generation. The mainspring of the Kabbala is a deep rooted belief
in a perpetual inter-relationship between God as the infinite power and man in
the physical world as we know it.
Man can get close to God by subduing his own negative
inclinations and bring about spiritual regeneration of mankind, through
prayers, meditation and interpretation of the divine mysteries hidden in the
Torah. Kabbalists emphasise the importance of mystical formulas in the
recitation of prayers.

| | | | Dream Dictionary divine: Understanding Miracles
A miracle, metaphysically speaking, is never a mere coincidence - no matter how extraordinary or significant. If you miss a plane and the plane crashes, that is not a miracle unless God intervened in the natural course of events causing you to miss the flight! A miracle is a supernaturally (divinely) caused event - an event (ordinarily) different from what would have occurred in the normal ('natural') course of events. It is a divine overriding of, or interference with, the natural order.

| | | | Dream Dictionary divine: Encyclopedia II - Ten Commandments - Muslim understandingMuslims accept Moses as a prophet, but they reject the Biblical versions of the Ten Commandments. Islam teaches that the Biblical text used in Judaism and Christianity has been corrupted over the years, by carelessness or malice, from its divine original. Muslims believe that the Qur'an is a revelation from God continuing the revelations on which they believe the Torah and Gospels to be based, intended to restore the original Adamic and Abrahamic faith.

| | | | Dream Dictionary divine: Devotional Worship And Service to All
If we meet no Gods, its because we harbour none, said Emerson. For us, God is not a remote, abstract figure; He is a living, loving Presence. The nirguna or formless God of Shankara’s Advaita is difficult to relate to - but give Him a sweet form and through saguna upasana or worship He can become your very own because of the wonderful ease it creates in human divine encounter. The predominant religious motif of practising Hinduism is this archanam andpadasevanam - the worship and adoration of a God made visible to our eyes in beautiful images, in homes and in temples. It is the ornamental centrepiece of the Vaishnav bhakti tradition set in motion by acharyas like Ramanuja, Madhava and Vallabha.
