Discernment; also, insight, correct perception or view.

parami, paramita (paaramii, paaramitaa): Perfection of the character. A group of ten qualities developed over many lifetimes by a bodhisatta, which appear as a group in the Pali Canon only in the Jataka ("Birth Stories"): generosity (dana), virtue (sila), renunciation (nekkhamma), discernment (panna), energy/persistence (viriya), patience/forbearance (khanti), truthfulness (sacca), determination (adhitthana), good will (metta), and equanimity (upekkha).

Alaya-vijnana (Sanskrit) (from alaya abode, dwelling from a-li to settle upon, come close to + vijnana discernment, knowledge from vi-jna to distinguish, know, understand) Abode of discriminative knowledge; the cognizing or discerning faculty, the mental power of making distinctions, hence the higher reasoning. When used mystically as "a receptacle or treasury of knowledge or wisdom," it corresponds very closely to the Vedantic vijnanamaya-kosa, the "thought-made sheath" of the human constitution, the higher manas or reincarnating ego.

In Mahayana Buddhism, alaya-vijnana has acquired a somewhat larger and higher significance: alaya (an abode, in the sense of focus of activity), the prepositional prefix a (meaning position or limitation) with the verb li (to dissolve) signifies solution or coalescence in unity.

Used much as the term human monad is in theosophy, equivalent to the higher manas or even buddhi-manas, it therefore signifies the focus or interior organ of consciousness into which is collected at the end of each incarnation the aroma of the higher experiences during that lifetime, thus forming a kind of treasury.

bodhi-pakkhiya-dhamma (bodhi-pakkhiya-dhammaa): "Wings to Awakening" - seven sets of principles that are conducive to Awakening and that, according to the Buddha, form the heart of his teaching:

(1)         the four frames of reference (see satipatthana);

(2)         four right exertions (sammappadhana) - the effort to prevent unskillful states from arising in the mind, to abandon whatever unskillful states have already arisen, to give rise to the good, and to maintain the good that has arisen;

(3)         four bases of success (iddhipada) - desire, persistence, intentness, circumspection;

(4)         five dominant factors (indriya) - conviction, persistence, mindfulness, concentration, discernment;

(5)         five strengths (bala) - identical with

(6)         seven factors for Awakening (bojjhanga) - mindfulness, investigation of phenomena, persistence, rapture (see piti), serenity, concentration, equanimity; and

(7)         the eightfold path (magga) - Right View, Right Attitude, Right Speech, Right Activity, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, Right Concentration.

Historically, the sword was viewed as a sacred ritual object signifying bravery and power. The flaming sword of Boddhisatva procured knowledge and freedom from desire while the sword of Vishnu represented pure knowledge and the destruction of ignorance. A knight's sword was two-edged - one to strike down infidels, the other thieves and murderers; the point represented obedience. Traditional Christianity and chivalry viewed it as a "luminous tool for chivalrous tasks" with a power that united spirit and matter - the binding of heaven and earth.

This statement will serve dual purpose. It is for those who might be interested in creating, manifesting, and establishing an alternative school in their area. This can serve as a simplified outline to support or inspire your Vision and goals. It is also for those who might be interested in working in this New School environment and/or who are dissatisfied with the current situation presented and forced upon children labeled as 'education', and whom have not found a school which offers education, a nurturing/supportive environment and assist s their children in consciousness reality.

Children have never fit into the 1950's model for education, and certainly not the model of strict thinking and behavior of the era prior to the 1950's. It is now Time, with the Shift of Consciousness fully present, with the obvious deterioration of life systems around us, our realization that there is no such thing anymore as "weather patterns" and all will be intensifying, and that our world is experiencing vast and intense change in the land and in the ability to live in the manner we have grown accustomed, it is with these in focus, I present the following information.

It starts with a vague feeling of something not quite being 'right'. Sounds are harsher on the ears, you find yourself avoiding your once-beloved candle shop because the scents are so over powering. The mall, once a wonderful Temple of Temptations, has become the ninth circle of hell, as have many other public venues. Noise and crowds now drive you away, rather than excite and attract you. Your 'been-there, done-that' passport is completely filled, and nothing really thrills you any more. It's mindless kiddie stuff now.

Ask lightworkers: "Do you create your reality?" Oh yes! Ask them: "Can you manifest your dreams?" Notice the guardedness in their responses. Many have chosen a spiritual path that deliberately shuns goal setting, deliberate manifesting, and above all, desiring. And there may be perfect reasons for this choice, having to do with past lives or other broad perspectives. Then again, the choice may be a guard against the pain of unfulfilled desire. As the guide Abraham says, "Summoning up our desires is just too painful when we do not manifest them. Most people just stop summoning the desire."

In my own spiritual transition to the Awakened state, I suffered and endured many of these changes. Annarita has thoroughly documented many of the symptoms and changes inherent in both the Awakening and the transition into the Octarine stage of Indigo life. Your mileage may vary. And if you find yourself really feeling out of whack, go see your doctor. It is better that you find you're basically OK than to permit a possible major disease like diabetes or heart disease to develop under your nose.
