Love:

1. If the dream involves happiness in love, then happiness and contentment lie ahead.

2. If the dream involves an illicit or forbidden love, the dreamer is hiding things—perhaps even from herself.

3. If the dream is of observing the love between two other people, this portends the consummation of some of the dreamer's own hopes and wishes.

4. If the dream involves choosing between two rival lovers, the dreamer faces a difficult choice.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Love

Love

For most of us, love is a full-time obsession . We are concerned about the love of our parents, children, co-workers, friends, and many, many others. There is nothing more important to our emotional, psychological, or spiritual well-being than love. It is a vital part of any growth process. We need to have a healthy dose of self-love so that we can, in turn, love the world. Dreams may be filled with images of love, friendship, compassion, and lust. In the end, it is all about acceptance and belonging. To be loved is to feel accepted and have a sense of belonging. In our dreams we may be trying to figure out this mystery called love. The dream may be wish-fulfilling or compensatory in nature. It may be spiritual or practical, but always deals with a significant part of our psyche or our daily lives.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Drowning

Drowning

Dreaming about drowning is common and it invokes fear. However, it may have positive significance. This dream suggests to the dreamer that he may be overwhelmed by unresolved emotions, old issues, or a current crisis. It suggests that a release of the old is necessary in order to emerge and begin anew. This dream serves to awaken the dreamer to embrace and to effectively cope with problems and negativity in his life.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Parking Lot, Garage

Parking Lot, Garage

These are interesting symbols and many people have requested adding them to the dictionary. Traveling is very common theme for our dreams. Traveling in a car is the most common form of this type of dream. Traveling in a vehicle generally can represent our journey through life, or a portion of it. If you find yourself in a garage or a parking lot, two different inferences can be made. Consider the dream's content and mood in it as well as your current dilemma or situation in life. The parked car could represent a period of inactivity and indecision. The dream could be pointing out that you have been idle for a period of time and that it may be good time to "get a move on." The more positive interpretation of this dream might be that the parked car is symbolic of a reflective period or mood. You may be in "park" for a while so that you can rest, relax, and regroup while thinking things over.

Flying : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Flying

Flying.

Some flying dreams are terrifying; others are exhilarating. Dreams of flying can reflect a sense of control. This includes wishing you had control over something you donŐt, struggling to stay in control or fearing you wield too much control.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Explosion

Explosion

A dream of contrary. To dream of witnessing a massive explosion indicates that your own life is going to “explode.” Great changes for the better are on the way.

Eyes

1. Being watched by strange, disembodied eyes indicates unexpected good fortune to come. If the eyes are particularly beautiful, this is a sign of success in romance and/or reassurance that you are surrounded by people who care for you. If there is only one eye watching you, this is the all-seeing Eye of God, and hints at success beyond your wildest dreams.

2. To go blind, to injure your eyes, or to get something in them is calling your attention to the fact that there is something or someone in your life that you’re not really seeing as they really are.

3. Light-colored eyes indicate a new friendship, while dark eyes hint that someone is sexually attracted to you.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Alcohol, Beer, Wine, Liquor

Alcohol (Beer, Wine, Liquor)

1. Dreaming of drinking beer, wine, etc., in moderation, under happy circumstances—with friends, at a party, etc.—indicates that success lies ahead. However, in any dream of alcohol, there is always the underlying warning that excesses can lead to trouble.

2. If you dream of being drunk, then in some way you are at a disadvantage. Look to other symbols in the dream to judge where this disadvantage lies.

3. If in the dream, you are sober but someone else is drunk, that person, or someone like him or her, could cause trouble for you.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Tree

Tree

The tree in your dream is you. The health, size and overall quality of the tree is indicative of how you feel about yourself. This interpretation is to be made only when the tree is the focal point of the dream. Also, consider whether the tree is alive with leaves, flowers or fruit, or if it's barren. You may see trees in your dream as a part of a landscape or as a secondary symbol. At those times, consider all of the details as they may have different interpretations than the one just given.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Eggs

Eggs

Eggs are symbolic of something new and fragile. They represent life and development in its earliest forms and, as such, the possibilities are limitless. At times, eggs can represent captivity or entrapment. Carl Jung said that eggs represent our captive souls. Therefore, the egg in your dream may very well represent you in the most profound sense. Are you trapped in a shell or did you break out of it and are now free to soar?

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Kidnapping

Kidnapping

The main theme in abduction dreams is fear. The dreamer may be afraid of losing a very important part of himself or of losing his safest and most familiar surroundings. Also, the dreamer may be afraid of leaving his home, childhood, familiar support group, or long standing ideas. These type of dreams may be most prevalent during times of psychological or physical transition and during stressful times of life when the future is somewhat uncertain. Consider the details of your dream and try to isolate or identify the fear that created the dream. Please refer to the page called Your Dreams and My Dreams in order to obtain a general understanding of how dreams could be interpreted. Superstition based dream interpretation books say that dreaming about being kidnapped is really an omen and that you will receive unexpected news and be successful against your opposition.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation - Horses

Horses

An astrologist from helenaparis.com analyses an iVillager's real dream

serendipity1980 says:

Normally my dreams are straightforward and I can understand them but this one is just strange! I am standing behind the fence of a paddock watching horses running about. Two come over to me as I have apples for them. When the first horse bends down to take the apple, its face changes to a human face (not of anyone I know, but in the dream this person seems familiar). As the horse moves away to chew the apple, its features change back into a horse. Then the second horse bends down to take an apple and the exact same thing happens but it's a different face - this person also looks familiar. When I see their faces change, I'm not frightened but think to myself ... why would they do that? I have a warm feeling inside and just smile. I don't say anything, I just stand there watching. I know this sounds very weird but does it signify anything? Thanks for your help.

Helena Paris says:

Hello, serendipity1980. Thank you for sharing your dream.

Our bodies tell us in dreaming what it is we already know in spirit. It is interesting that you are standing behind a fence watching the horses, like you are watching a part of yourself that is somehow disconnected in daily life. Horses are beautiful and majestic creatures associated with freedom and power. They are often linked with our sexual, creative and spiritual energy. You are already familiar with that part of yourself, but you aren't quite sure how to access it, how to get over the fence and let it out!

As a symbol, apples have long been associated with deeper wisdom and knowing. An apple contains within it the seeds of new life; it is the perfect container for the growth of that new life, like women are the perfect containers for new life and creative expression. We long to express ourselves, but there are so many ideas which we never bring to fruition, because we don't make time to explore them.

The feeling you have when you see the horses may be connected to the sense of fulfilment from realising even the smallest achievement of our goals. We all have an inner calling, a yearning to be a part of a much more creative existence. By ingesting the idea, giving it time to gestate, making time for even the smallest of creative projects, brings a passion and colour to our lives, and becomes a constant source of regeneration. Joseph Campbell said 'We have to give up the life we have planned, in order to have the one that is waiting for us'. What is the life that is planned for you, who has planned it, what is it you would really like to do?

By feeding your inner life through meditation, walking in nature, being silent within, you will engage with another kind of energy, that of life itself. Learning to ride this power in existence you will shine, nurture yourself and you will grow, express your deeper knowing and you will move into the life that is waiting for you.

Sweet dreams.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Night

Night

1. A dream of a clear, starry night, with a full moon, is an omen of positive things to come. A dark, cloudy night with no moon represents the dreamer’s fears. Look to other symbols in the dream to discern what the fears are.

2. If in the dream the night is hindering the dreamer, he should expect obstacles and delays in something dear to him.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Elephant

Elephant

Elephants in dreams may represent knowledge, power, and strength. They are also associated with long memory and "thick skin." However, depending on the dream’s details, the elephant may be a symbol of a large burden. Additionally, in the dream you may be making efforts to remember something important and of great magnitude.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation - Adoption

Adoption

Being adopted yourself

Adoption themes in dreams often occur at significant points of transition or crisis in life. Being adopted in your dream can mean either that you have no human connections at the moment or that you require additional connections to remain a viable person. Dreams of this nature may occur during geographic moves, job transitions or uncertainties, or prior to marriage. Crucial questions exist concerning who adopts you, what the relationship is like with them after adoption and whether you feel glad, ambivalent or uneasy about being adopted. A pre-marital dream may include something like this one (reported by a 24-year-old groom-to-be): `I'm sitting at a card table with people I don?t know playing a game I don't understand. They are trying to teach me, but don't speak English. I get up to leave, but they take me home and treat me as their son.'

The dreamer may see himself as ambivalent about fitting into family rituals, but feeling enough acceptance from his new extended family to overcome his concerns.

Adopting another

Obviously, the gender of the dreamer has much to say about this dream. Clinical evidence shows that men and women share equal responsibility for infertility disorders. However, women tend to internalise more anxiety about child-rearing and may feel a need to adopt to resolve their problems. Discerning the current status of the self in the life cycle and external circumstances of the woman would be important.

Does infertility run in your family tree? Are you currently planning to become pregnant, but are concerned that you may not? For both genders, adoption may revolve around a very benevolent view of the self as provider. More and more people find their motivation in making a difference in just one life. As such, the quest for justice is shifting from the hero(ine) who saves the community to the good person who helps someone else less fortunate.

For men who adopt others with ambivalence, there can be questions of virility or competence at stake. Who you adopt, and why, could be important to uncovering the meaning of this dream. Is there a significant bonding or separation occurring in your life that may be creating some unease below the surface of your emotions? Do you feel a need for emotional support that is going unmet or that you are finding new avenues to meet?

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation - Ocean

Ocean

All life originated in the ocean. Especially in Jungian interpretation, this is a place of creativity, fertility, and birth. There is also a lingering sense humans have of rising up out of the collective origins of life in the oceans. It is easy to see the Darwinian influence of these ideas. More importantly, it is easy to see the lack of connection some dreamers could have with this approach to dream interpretation.

Given the widespread popularity of boating, scuba diving, and cruise holidays, numerous people have experiences with the ocean that were not available in the past. It may be that the dreamer has one of these connections to the ocean, rather than a general perception of fertility. For some, the ocean can impart a sense of fear and foreboding, especially if they can't swim. Its ultimate vastness, coupled with their lack of swimming ability, can appear in a dream as a reflection of some insurmountable struggle they may be having in waking life.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Running, away from something

Running (away from something)

Something in the dreamer's life is difficult to face, and the dreamer would rather run away from it than face it. If such a situation is not readily recognized by the dreamer, looking to the other symbols in the dream should give the answer.

Astrological parallel: Pisces.

Dream Dictionary Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Café, Cafe, Restaurant

Café (Cafe, Restaurant)

If you dream of a busy café when you sit alone at a table, this indicates a feeling of “being lonely in a crowd,” of alienation from the world around you. If you’re with a group of friends, however, support of all kinds is available from people who care for you. If the café is chic and nicely decorated, your world is pretty much in order, but if it’s a shabby place, both your spirits and your life circumstances could use a lift, and you may need to seek it outside your usual domain.
