To attain this state it is necessary to halt the impact of karma on the soul and at the same time to eliminate the previously acquired karma that enmeshes the soul. But the only way to attain victory over karma is through further, refined action.

Dream Dictionary Destiny: Encyclopedia II - Ouroboros - Throughout history

The name ouroboros (or, in Latinized form, uroborus) is Greek ("ουροβóρος") and means "tail-devourer". Ouroboros - Antiquity. The serpent or dragon eating its own tail has survived from antiquity and can be traced back to Ancient Egypt, circa 1600 BC. However the pig dragons of the Hongshan culture (4700–2200 BC) of China are older and may have been transmitted in one way along the Silk Road. From ancient Egypt it passed to Phoenicia and then to the Greek philosophers, who gave it the name Ouroboros ("the tail-devourer"). See also:

A profound comment on history from an unknown source says, ''When you hear two eye-witness accounts of the same traffic accident, you grow suspicious about history''. History of several countries, since long, had been subjected to the Bed of Procrustes of ideologies and fancies; a fact bigger than the bed is cut to size and one shorter is stretched to fill it up. Yet something survives the operation. Despite omissions and exaggerations by the chroniclers, the time-spirit has culled out ideas from events or characters that have contributed to our understanding of the profundities and complexities of life, to the growth of our consciousness, both at the individual and collective planes.

Dream Dictionary Destiny: No Conflict Between Faith & Reason

A little girl was to undergo an operation. The surgeon said to her: "Before we can make you well, we must put you to sleep for a little while." The little girl looked up and smiled: "Oh, if you are going to put me to sleep, I must say my prayers first".

She knelt down beside the table and prayed: "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray thee, Lord, my soul to keep, If I should die before I wake, I pray thee, Lord, my soul to take. " The surgeon said afterwards that he prayed that night for the first time in 30 years. Prayer doesn't change things. It changes people, and they change things. So, don't pray for lighter burdens; pray for stronger backs.
