Children are very creative. However when faced with failure, they might become dispirited. Good parenting can enable children to accept facts of life and persuade them to proceed proactively in a creative mode. The challenge of life is in accepting the fact that 'life is not fair'. Once you accept this fact, a certain understanding is generated. This will enable you to accept whatever life gives you.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Bhakti as a Way of Daily Life
Bhakti is not kamayamana or desire-driven; it is nirodh , a check on desire. When attained, bhakti makes a person into siddha , perfect and trupta , satisfied. Such a person thereafter has neither desire nor worry, hate, pleasure or excitement. Does it imply dullness? No, it implies fulfilment born of antar-aarama or inner harmony, which could so suffuse the mind as to make the bhakta look inebriated or matta . Does attaining such a state imply stagnation?

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: The Four Paths of Hindu YogaThe four main
spiritual paths for God-realisation are Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga and
Jnana Yoga. Karma Yoga is suitable for a man of active temperament, Bhakti Yoga
for a man of devotional temperament, Raja Yoga for a man of mystic temperament,
and Jnana Yoga for a man of rational and philosophical temperament, or a man of
enquiry.
Mantra Yoga,
Laya Yoga or Kundalini Yoga, Lambika Yoga and Hatha Yoga, are other Yogas. Yoga,
really, means union
with God. The practice
of Yoga leads to communion with the Lord. Whatever may be the starting point,
the end reached is the same.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Reducing Ego Desires
Have you ever known someone at work who always focused on "me, me, me" - preoccupied with enhancing their reputation or career, even at the expense of other people? You might have thought, "This person has such a big ego." The desires that spring from such an ego greatly diminish spiritual character. What exactly are "ego desires"? The word "ego" is the Latin language word for "I" and means "the self, especially as contrasted with another self or the world." An ego desire originates from a feeling of separateness; its motivation is to satisfy individual wants and needs for our own self-centred, even selfish, benefit.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Hindu view in Children and ParentingHinduism
and Children: Hindus loves their children dearly. They believe that their children are gifts from gods and products of their previous karma. Many presume that their children were related to them in their past lives or were their close friends. Since a Hindu firmly believes in rebirth, he views his own life from a wider perspective that encompasses not just this life but many other lives that preceded it as well as succeed it, and his individual existence as a part of a great cosmic cycle.

on CelibacyHinduism
and Celibacy
Hinduism considers celibacy (brahmacharya) as an important virtue
and an essential aspect of spiritual life. In ancient India, students who were
engaged in the study of the Vedas and Brahman were exhorted to observe strict
celibacy. Since control of desires was considered essential for self
realization and sexual desire being the ultimate of all desires, observation of
celibacy became an important feature of Hindu spiritualism. The idea that a
student of Brahman should be a strict celibate became so ingrained in the mind
of people that over a period of time the word Brahmacharya
became synonymous more with the idea of celibacy than with that of the
study of Brahman.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: 17 Seconds From Your True Desires!
"Just to get your attention we want to give you some physical comparison; 17 seconds of pure thought is equivalent to 2000 hours of action. If you are working a regular 40 hour a week job, that is about what you work in a year. 17 seconds equals 2000 action hours. " Esther said: "Abraham, I believe you, but it sounds proposterous. I cannot fathom that kind of leverage".

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Fleeting Pleasure, Enduring Pain
Let's talk about pleasure and pain. Pleasure first, because it makes you feel good. But life's pleasures seem so fleeting and evanescent, like glistening dewdrops that evaporate with the first hint of the warm rays of the sun. A pleasant state of being , we instinctively feel, is intrinsically unstable. Pleasure vanishes like a transient bubble, while pain endures. What is pleasant is short-lived because the human mind quickly gets used to it, and subconsciously craves to heighten and intensify that feeling of pleasure, as it lingers in the memory and haunts the mind.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Secret of Success: Team Spirit
Success can be external or internal. Externally, it is the measure of a job well done and the accompanying recognition from society. Internally, it is a feeling of achievement, satisfaction and fullness which comes on the completion of a task or the fulfilment of a desire. What is a true measure of success, the outer accolades or the inner joy and peace?

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Thinking It Through, You Can Be Happy
A young boy went to a guru and asked him how he could find God. The guru realised that the boy had spiritual leanings but was far too young to be educated in the abstract knowledge of the Vedas and the Upanishads . He asked the boy who he loved the most. The boy replied: "My calf. I play with him all the time. He is my companion". The guru asked the boy to meditate on the calf. After a few months when the guru went to meet the young disciple, he found him crying. "I am losing my mind", he said. "The calf has become so small that it sits on my palm". The guru advised the disciple to continue meditating on the calf.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Cosmic Consciousness Is Well Within Reach
Does an enlightened individual need to remain caged in the body? Why not get liberated from the physical? For seven days, the Buddha grappled with this dilemma. In the end, he decided that there was nothing personal about enlightenment - the knowledge should be shared with all for the benefit of humankind. He spent the next 50 years doing just that and all those who listened to him benefited greatly. It is necessary for all of us to discover truth but once we find it, it should be shared freely with others. This will not only provide more insight, but also foster peace and happiness. The desire to share our discoveries with the world is normally fuelled by greed for either fame or money. Very few are selfless enough to share their discoveries freely for common benefit.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Beyond The 50/50 RelationshipBeyond
The 50/50 Relationship
Many
people today believe in a myth that says intimate happiness is attained through
a 50/50 ideal of equality based on a notion of "sameness" between men
and women. Belief in this myth of the 50/50 Relationship is one of the major
reasons that men and women have been unable to cultivate and deepen sexual,
emotional, and spiritual union in intimacy. As many of us have discovered, when
we focus on dividing the pie equally, our intimate embrace often becomes more
like a business handshake than a delicious swoon that dissolves two lovers into
a single heart of desire.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Will Your "Real Conscience" Please Stand Up?
Our conscience is our true guide to what is wise, good and beneficial to ourselves and the larger whole. It provides the strength of character to sincerely and energetically promote various forms of wealth in our work: our well-being as an employee, our ability to capably serve our customers, our success in creating prosperity, and our desire to improve the health of our society. As Confucious said: Virtue is the root; wealth is the result. The Great Learning.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Dharma, Artha, Karma and Moksha - The
PurusharthasPurusharthas,
Dharma, Artha, Karma and Moksha
Purusha means human being
and artha means object or objective. Purusharthas means objectives of man.
According to Hindu way of life, a man should strive to achieve four chief
objectives (Purusharthas) in his life. They are:
1. dharma
(righteousness),
2. artha
(material wealth),
3. kama
(desire) and
4. moksha
(salvation).
Every individual in a society is expected to achieve these four
objectives and seek fulfillment in his life before departing from here. The
concept of Purusharthas clearly establishes the fact that Hinduism does not
advocate a life of self negation and hardship, but a life of balance,
achievement and fulfillment.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Finding The Master
To engender manifestation of any desire, you have to focus all your energies on it. The rays of the shining sun when focused through the magnifying glass can cause the paper to burn up, not otherwise. This focus is crucial especially if the goal is the Divine One. While other desires may get fulfilled, the Divine One still tends to stay elusive. Ever silent and ever-present, the Lord seeks to see if we are willing to be pleased and satisfied with His little gifts or if we are willing to find our true happiness only in the realisation of His Cosmic consciousness.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Desire: Addictive Love RelationshipsThere
are two fascinating qualities that can enter into our lives or the lives of
those we care for at any moment: love and addiction. At first these two may
appear to be strange bedfellows: love evokes pleasurable images of couples
passionately embracing or tenderly gazing into each others' eyes, while
addiction brings up a darker, grim, even desperate image of people struggling
against a part of themselves that is out of control. Yet at their core, both
have in common a profound spiritual yearning, the desire to transcend the self,
to experience powerful states of bliss and ecstasy and to merge with and feel a
part of something greater than oneself.
