Demons Demons are interesting dream characters. Whether you view them as psychological constructs or physical realities, their presence is a significant statement. The meaning of the demons revolves around their power relative to other major characters in the dream. Demons may have seductive or violent power in a taboo relationship with the dreamer. In these cases the dreamer sees herself as helped or hindered by supernatural powers in the accomplishment of a moral or personal conquest. If a demon is helping you complete a task, it may say something about how your task is viewed morally either in your superego or in your belief system. If a demon is thwarting your progress, this may reflect your perception of evil working against you in your life. If the demon is threatening others who are important in your life, you may be struggling with how to protect or provide for others in a world perceived as hostile. If the demons are helping you acquire something you hold as taboo, some self-examination concerning motives may be appropriate. Are they powerful in an alluring or repulsive way?

Interpretation Demons
If you are dreaming of demons, you are denying a dark part of yourself, or feelings that have taken hold of you. Seeing demons also should be regarded as a warning against falling for lusts and unhealthy habits. If you see these dreams too often, you are on the edge of the psychological crisis and need help of a doctor.

Dictionary - Devil
Devil The circumstances in the dream are very important. If you see the Devil in his usual context—in a pit full of fire, surrounded by demons—then you’d better ask yourself what guilty secret you’re hiding and how it applies to your present circumstances. If the Devil speaks to you and seems friendly, then you’re going to be faced with a temptation that will prove difficult to resist. If you fight him, you’ll resist that temptation. If you see the Devil with someone you know, that person may be trying to manipulate you to serve his own ends.

Buddhist - Buddhism Dictionary on Demons
Demons Evil influences which hinder cultivation. These can take an infinite number of forms, including evil beings or hallucinations. Disease and death, as well as the three poisons of greed, anger and delusion are also equated to demons, as they disturb the mind. The Nirvana Sutra lists four types of demon: i) greed, anger and delusion; ii) ii) the five skandas, or obstructions caused by physical and mental functions; iii) iii) death; iv) iv) the demon of the Sixth Heaven (Realm of Desire). The Self-Nature has been described in Mahayana sutras as a house full of gold and jewelry. To preserve the riches, i.e., to keep the mind calm, empty and still, we should shut the doors to the three thieves of greed, anger and delusion. Letting the mind wander opens the house to "demons," that is, hallucinations and harm. Thus, Zen practitioners are taught that, while in meditation, "Encountering demons, kill the demons, encountering Buddhas, kill the Buddhas." Both demons and Buddhas are mind-made, Mind-Only. For a detailed discussion of demons, see Master Thich Thien Tam, Buddhism of Wisdom and' Faith, sect. 51.

Demons. According to the Kabbalah, the demons dwell in the world of Assiah, the world of matter and of the "shells"’ of the dead. They are the Klippoth. There are Seven Hells, whose demon dwellers represent the vices personified. Their prince is Samael, his female companion is Isheth Zenunim - the woman of prostitution: united in aspect, they are named "The Beast", Chiva.

Daemon Est Deus Inversus
Daemon Est Deus Inversus (Latin) Daemon is divinity inverted; more commonly, the Devil is God inverted. An ancient Hermetic, and later Qabbalistic, aphorism referring to that polar power which is required by the equilibrium and harmony in nature. The One, when manifested, becomes Two, and from the Two are unfolded or evolved all the sequence of manifest existence. Spirit and matter, good and evil, as distinct conceptions exist only by their mutual contrast. There is no evil per se, but the human notion of essential evil arises from our inability to take in the whole at a single glance. Daemon is applicable in general to all formative power, from the highest to the lowest; in this aphorism it denotes the formative rays in their manifestation in and on the lower planes of prakriti, called by contrast the nether pole. Western monotheism, having anthropomorphized the higher creative powers into a personal God, personified the lower powers into a Devil and demons. But Satan or the Adversary is only God's messenger, because what is below reflects what is above. This aphorism, then, states that all the manifested universe is the representation or material inversion or reflection of the divine essence and its emanations which in their aggregate compose the spiritual background and causal forces of the universe. Furthermore, a reflected image reverses. Finally, the aphorism denotes the astral light, represented by a black triangle inverted on a white (SD 1:424).
