Visible
We cannot speak of God as we do of
other things. This is because the Absolute has neither nama
(name) nor rupa (form) . God is beyond name and form.
Western culture is largely centred on
the limit-experience of Being and Plenitude, whereas the eastern is centred on
the consciousness-limit of Nothing and Emptiness. Raimon Panikkar, a Catholic
theologian says the former is attracted by the world of things as they reveal
to us the transcendence of Reality. The latter is attracted by the world of the
subject, which reveals to us the impermanence of that very Reality. Both are
preoccupied with the problem of "ultimacy", which many traditions
call God.
Panikkar speaks about nine ways not to talk about God.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary Cave: Mahatma's Talisman Can Exorcise Anger
It is a paradox that Gujarat, the state which gave India her greatest son, Mahatma Gandhi, should defile his memory and what he stood for with a terrible violence fuelled by communal frenzy, resulting in large scale death and destruction. Those who react in anger to the recent violent incidents in Godhra, other parts of Gujarat and neighbouring states need to consider Gandhis "talisman". Will anger and revenge help erase the distress? Anger is a negative emotion; it can neither bring peace nor put an end to the cycle of violence.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Cave: Dealing With AngerYou
have, we all have, a place of Peace within us, whose waters are never shut
down. Go there. Borrow from it. Refuse to cave; refuse to slide into blind
reaction. Whatever it is that is stirring you up will eventually get tired of
no payoff and leave you alone. No kidding.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Cave: Beyond the Last Blue Mountain
Traditionally, going on a tirtha or pilgrimage is believed to present an ideal occasion for soul-searching. The more arduous the journey, the greater the opportunity to reflect. A yatra is a good time - when the temporal and the timeless meet - to try and expand our understanding of our own selves and the Absolute. This is the spirit of the annual pilgrimage to the hallowed cave-shrine of Amarnath.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Cave: The Crystal Children
At age two, Harry was diagnosed as "autistic" when it was apparent his speech development lagged behind normal. At first, his parents and doctor thought Harry had a hearing problem, so they had grommets (protective loops) placed in his ears. But Harry still didn't speak. His mother, Karenanne, says "Harry has always had a very sunny temperament and showed no angst at being unable to speak. It was like talking was something he'd do when he was good and ready. It was the same with his reading skills. He showed no interest in baby books, yet when he got interested in Pokemon, he rapidly showed he indeed knew how to read, and he just pored over those handbooks."

| | | | | Dream Dictionary Cave: The Mind and
Control of ThoughtThe mind is like a wheel which revolves
endlessly with tremendous velocity. It generates new thoughts with every
revolution. This wheel is set in motion by the vibration of psychic Prana or
subtle Prana. The practice of Pranayama lessens the velocity of the mind and
slows down the wheel gradually. Perfect control of Prana will bring the wheel
to a standstill.
From "Easy Steps to
Yoga" by Sri Swami Sivananda.

| | | | Dream Dictionary Cave: Amarnath Journey Prompts Reflection
We tend to pray to God only for our worldly needs, which are much more than our requirements. Krishna says in the Gita, "Four types of devotees worship me: the distressed ones, those seeking knowledge, those seeking wealth and others seeking wisdom. Of all such devotees, the one who seeks wisdom is dearest to me". Shrishti or creation means projection and expansion coming out of One. That is the evolution of the world. Krishna also says that at the end of a Kalpa, the whole universe - all the souls, whether in the state of birth and death or in moksha, including Brahma - will dissolve within Me.

you have forgotten your real essential nature, the Sat-Chit-Ananda state. It is
not at all necessary for you to renounce the world and run to some Himalayan
cave to regain your lost divinity. Here is an easy Sadhana by which you can
definitely attain God-consciousness, even while living in the world amidst
multifarious activities.

Mudras ÒMudraÓ simply means hand and finger postures. Like yogic
body postures, it is also a discipline, to rejuvenate the body.
You must have seen the statues of
Buddha, Jesus, Mahavir, and Shiva et al among many others, wherein the hands
and fingers are shown curled in a specific posture.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary Cave: RE-THINKING THE WATCHTOWERS or 13
Reasons Air Should Be In The NorthThe first time I noticed conflicting
ritual elements was when I was invited as a guest to attend another Coven's
esbat celebration. When the time came to 'invoke the Watchtowers' (a ritual
salutation to the four directions), I was amazed to learn that this group associated
the element of Earth with the North. My own Coven equated North with Air. How
odd, I thought. Where'd they get that? The High Priestess told me it had been
copied out of a number of published sources. Further, she said she had never
seen it listed any other way. I raced home and began tearing books from my own
library shelves. And sure enough! Practically every book I consulted gave the
following assoications as standard: North = Earth, East = Air, South = Fire,
West = Water.
Then where the heck did I get the
idea that Air belonged in the North?

| | | | | | Dream Dictionary Cave: Mystic Chilren....the three new races
There has always been a sense about the School of Metaphysics that we are drawn to it because we recognize the need to revolutionize education. Today this is as true as ever before. Recently I've been studying information from around the world concerning what Drunvalo Melchizedek calls the "children of the new millennium." There are three types of children coming into our world who will aid greatly in the revolution.
