is a good thing I have often heard people express a desire to become more sensitive and
compassionate, while confessing that they probably loved themselves too much to
succeed in that ambition. In all the cases I have observed, the problem was
exactly the reverse. It is because we do not love ourselves enough that our
relationships become problematic. Compassion and sensitivity to others are
direct by-products of self-love.

| | | | | | Dream Dictionary arrogance: Balance Body & Mind With Sudarshan Kriya Yoga
Our existence can be broadly divided into three categories - thinking, feeling and being conscious. The common link between all three is our attention. When we respond to something, physical or mental, consciously or unconsciously, we take our attention to the related part of the body. When we think, our attention is in the brain and when we carry out habitual activities, it is probably in the spinal cord.

| | | | Dream Dictionary arrogance: Cosmic Vision Alone Reveals the Truth
True realisation takes place on knowing and seeing God in His transcendental form. It is a metaphysical experience within the human body. The manifestation of inherent divinity is in reality the revelation of the divine self of man. This is not different from the Supreme Self that permeates even the tiniest particle in the universe. It is accessible to all human beings.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary arrogance: Explode Spiritual Bomb of Compassion
For Gandhi, non-violence meant an overflowing love for all humanity, a way of life that emanated from the very marrow of his being. But for many of his followers, non-violence was simply a political strategy, a tactic for winning India's independence from Britain. The more earnestly Gandhi pursued his religious beliefs, the deeper his love for humanity grew. This love made it all the more impossible for him to ignore the political realities that shaped people's lives. At the same time, contact with these political realities strengthened his conviction that nothing is more essential than the love for humanity that religious faith can inspire. He walked the middle way.

| | | | Dream Dictionary arrogance: Soundarya Lahiri And Inner Beauty
Consciousness is beauty and Creation is an expression of consciousness. Beauty is present in all creation. Eastern philosophy believes beauty is the nature of things, while western thought sees it as perception. Perhaps beauty is both subjective and objective. The East emphasises subjectivity; it sees beauty as the nature of existence - as Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram, an objective phenomenon. In the West, where objectivity is emphasised, beauty is seen as a subjective phenomenon. But as the old proverb goes, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Beauty bridges the subject-object divide.

| | | | | Dream Dictionary arrogance: Let Me Hug All of You in Love and Friendship
Love has the special quality of attracting abundance of love in return. Ahimsa means the largest love, the greatest charity. As a follower of ahimsa, I must love my enemy. I must apply the same rules to the wrongdoer who is my enemy or a stranger to me, as I would to my wrongdoing father or son. This active necessarily includes truth and fearlessness. As man cannot deceive loved ones, he does not fear or frighten them. Gift of life is the greatest of all gifts; a man who gives it disarms all hostility. He has paved the way for an honourable understanding.

| | | | Dream Dictionary arrogance: Fasting
and Penance Strengthen the SoulFasting and Penance Strengthen the
Soul
A feature common to most religions,
worldwide, is the practice of undertaking periodic fasts. Saum
or fasts are an integral part of Islam. For Hindus, fasts are a form and
part of prayer and worship and the word upvas means
"being near God".
The concept of asan
or fasting takes different forms in Jainism. Followers of Buddhism too
observe fasts on certain days as do Christians, especially during Lent.
Abstaining from food during Ramadan is a part of the
broader programme that Islam prescribes for man to fulfil his moral and
spiritual destiny in this world and in the hereafter.

| | | | Dream Dictionary arrogance: New Perceptions
As we prepare ourselves for the upcoming school year, I thought this would be a good time to introduce you to a new perception about our children. Each generation has its unique characteristics that define new paradigms, forcing us to review our old systems and integrate a new way of thinking. Our educational system has been greatly challenged over the past 20 years and it is a reflection of the evolution of the mind and the spirit, as evidenced by our children and their special needs.

Astrology and Mental, Emotional and Spiritual Health
In order to maintain a healthy mind we must realize
the true realities of life. Therefore we must consider our spiritual nature to
understand the subtleties of mind, intelligence and ego. Accordingly mental,
emotional and spiritual health go together and, unless you have some knowledge
in this regard, you cannot stop the onslaught of negative emotions brought on
by ignorance and fear. We not only need to engage ourselves in some sort of
fulfilling work to occupy our minds but need to understand why we fall victim
to feelings of hate, envy, greed and avarice. These emotions only serve to
destroy us intellectually, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. Why is
there so much hate in the world, anyway?

| | | | Dream Dictionary arrogance: Mind is Matter - Nurture It
Results of recent studies published in the British Journal of Psychiatry pronounce that diet has a direct bearing on the behaviour of juvenile delinquents. Certain types of food brought about - though very gradually - distinct changes in the behavioural pattern of the delinquents. Foods affect animal behaviour as well. For instance, a dog fed on raw meat for any length of time turns out to be more ferocious than a similar breed fed on vegetarian foods. Sastras explain that mind is also matter, albeit subtle, and, like the body, is nourished by food. The Chandogya Upanishad says: "Mind consists of food, prana (life force) of water and speech of fire."

| | | | | | Dream Dictionary arrogance: The Thought-Factor in AchievementAll that a man
achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own
thoughts. In a justly ordered universe, where loss of equipoise would mean
total destruction, individual responsibility must be absolute. A man's weakness
and strength, purity and impurity, are his own, and not another man's. They are
brought about by himself, and not by another; and they can only be altered by
himself, never by another. His condition is also his own, and not another
man's. His suffering and his happiness are evolved from within. As he thinks,
so he is; as he continues to think, so he remains..

| | | | | Dream Dictionary arrogance: Indigo children in Wikipedia
Indigo children are supposedly a set of children having certain special psychological and spiritual attributes. The indigo child concept was first popularized by the book, The Indigo Children, written by the husband and wife team of Lee Carroll and Jan Tober1, with the contributions of medical doctors, psychologists, and parents whose essays are included in the text. The adjective "indigo" is used because it is claimed these children appear with an indigo-hued aura.
