Dream - Neurology of dreams: Encyclopedia - Dream

A dream is the experience of images, sounds/voices, words, thoughts or sensations during sleep, with the dreamer usually not being able to influence the experience. The scientific discipline of dream research is oneirology. Dreaming has been associated with rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, a lighter form of sleep that occurs during the latter portion of the sleep cycle, characterized by rapid horizontal eye movements, stimulation of the pons, increased respiratory and heart rate, and temporary paralysis of the body; however, this association has been questioned, as it may only be t ...

Dream - Neurology of dreams: Encyclopedia II - Dream - Neurology of dreams
There are many competing theories as to the neurological cause of the dreaming experience. The state of Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep is commonly associated with dreams, though it is not known whether dreams actually occur more frequently during this light sleep stage or are simply recalled more easily. REM sleep is known to be produced by a brain region known as the pons. The activation synthesis theory developed by Allan Hobson and Robert McCarley state that the brain tries to interpret random impulses from the pons as sensory inpu ...

Dream - Neurology of dreams: Caring for the Children in the New Millennium

Indigo Children are the next wave of teachers for the planet. They are very evolved beings of light who have come in joyful service to humanity. They are your future. They will lead you into the beautiful new world that awaits you, if you will but allow them to help you. Do not force them into the old molds for they do not fit there. They have arrived with new higher level imprints for humanity encoded within their beingness. These children have never had incarnations on this planet. In fact, they have never had physical incarnations anywhere before. This is an entirely new experience for them. They are coming from the 6th dimension and they are bringing great spiritual wisdom with them.

Dream - Neurology of dreams: Caring for Children in the new millenium

For adults, the heavier vibrations of matter under which you passed your

growing up years are giving way to a higher, lighter, more refined level of

vibration. This, of course, has impacted significantly the nature of the

children which began incarnating more recently and I wish to make commentary

about them. These children who shall come of age in the next century bring a

special gift to the world -- a level of love and remembrance and knowing not

heretofore possible.

Dream - Neurology of dreams: A Different Dream

In this message I wish to speak to you of what are called the Indigo children. They ride the Indigo Ray and have a specific purpose on Earth. They are here to change the world and they will do whatever it takes, including sacrificing themselves in the process when necessary. It is their mission and one which they have wholeheartedly accepted. To this point I would remind you that they know that the earth plane is a plane of illusion. They know they live beyond the physical body they currently inhabit. At other levels of your beingness you are also well aware of this fact. You were required to forget this when you took your embodiment but in your own wake-up process you shall remember.

Dream - Neurology of dreams: Indigo- The Color of Money

Many are excited about the upcoming New Age movie, "Indigo," written, produced, and directed by three renowned individuals who now live in Ashland - James Twyman, Neale Donald Walsch, and Stephen Simon. Appealing are the career opportunities, the camaraderie of movie-making, the promoting of spirituality and messages of peace and love. Promoters say it will stimulate the local economy and help our schools. But after examining the Indigo Child movement, and specifically the activities of co-writer/producer James Twyman, I see potential consequences for the community -- and for children.

A critical view on the Indigo Phenomenon by Lorie Andersson.

Dream - Neurology of dreams: Encyclopedia - Déjà vu

The term déjà vu (French: "already seen", also called paramnesia) describes the experience of feeling that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously. The term was created by a French psychic researcher, Emile Boirac (1851–1917) in his book L'Avenir des sciences psychiques (The Future of Psychic Sciences), which expanded upon an essay he wrote while an undergraduate French concentrator at the University of Chicago. The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense ...

Dream - Neurology of dreams: Encyclopedia - Sleep

Sleep is the regular state of natural rest observed in all mammals, birds and fish. Sleep is not actually "unconsciousness," but rather, it is a natural state of rest characterized by a reduction in voluntary body movement and decreased awareness of the surroundings. Therefore, since consciousness is literally the awareness of the surroundings, being asleep is just an altered state of consciousness, as opposed to being unconscious. It is heavily influenced by circadian rhythms, and by hormonal and environmental factors as well. Sleep ...

Dream - Neurology of dreams: Encyclopedia - Mind

The mind is the term most commonly used to describe the higher functions of the human brain, particularly those of which humans are subjectively conscious, such as personality, thought, reason, memory, intelligence and emotion. Although other species of animals share some of these mental capacities, the term is usually used only in relation to humans. It is also used in relation to postulated supernatural beings to which human-like qualities are ascribed, as in the expression "the mind of God." Mind - Theories of the min ...

Dream - Neurology of dreams: Encyclopedia - Consciousness

Consciousness is a quality of the mind generally regarded to comprise such key features as subjectivity, self-awareness, sentience, sapience, and the ability to perceive the relationship between oneself and one's environment. It is a subject of much research in philosophy of mind, psychology, neurology, and cognitive science. Some philosophers divide consciousness into phenomenal consciousness, which is experience itself, and access consciousness, which is the processing of the things in experience (Block 2004). Others consider ...

Dream - Neurology of dreams: Encyclopedia II - Dimethyltryptamine - Speculations

Several highly speculative and as yet untested hypotheses suggest that endogenous DMT, produced in the human brain, is involved in certain psychological and neurological states. As DMT is highly probably naturally produced in small amounts by the human organism, some believe it plays a role in dreaming, near-death experiences and other mystical states. It has been speculated by the researcher Jace Callaway that DMT might be connected with visual dreaming. It is also speculated that DMT can be found in elevated amounts during times ...

Dream - Neurology of dreams: Encyclopedia II - Sleep - Sleep physiology

Sleep - Methodology. Before advances in the fields of neurology, neuroscience, electronics and genetics were made, scientists studied the behavioral characteristics of sleep, such as its pattern, depth, and varying frequency. In more recent times, the electrical impulses generated by the brain are recorded using a device called an electroencephalograph (EEG), and individual genes relating to sleep-related brain function, such as the circadian rhythm, have been isolated. Molecular biology, medical science and epidemiology all play an ...
