Doubt: Encyclopedia - Doubt

Doubt is uncertainty in the context of trust (where it takes the form of distrust), action, decision or belief. It implies challenging some notion of reality in effect, and may involve hesitating to take a relevant action due to concern that one might be mistaken or at fault. According to some spiritual and ethical traditions, it is a form of fear. A doubtful internal disposition, according to many ethical frameworks, leads to the 'poisoning' of one's realit ...

No Doubt - The Beginning. No Doubt was formed by Eric Stefani (keyboards) in Orange County, California with his friend John Spence (lead vocals) in November 1986. Eric's younger sister, Gwen Renée Stefani, joined the group that same year as co-vocalist. The trio played their first gig on New Year's Eve 1986/1987. The band from then on began to play small gigs around the Orange County area. Tony Kanal went to one of these early shows and soon joined the band as a bassist. Doubt: You Only Need 51% Belief to Begin Attracting

I've seen too many people 'beat themselves up' as they learn about the Law of Attraction and begin to apply it in their lives.

When their desire doesn't materialize in a few days, they think they aren't doing it right or they don't believe enough. They are under the impression that in order to receive, they must have 100% belief--no doubt at all.

Here's good news! You don't need 100% belief, just 51% to start the process of receiving all your goals, desires and hopes.

Doubt: Encyclopedia - Ignorance

Ignorance is a lack of knowledge, or a willful lack of desire to improve the efficiency, merit, effectiveness or usefulness of one's actions. Ignorance is also a "state of being ignorant" or unaware/uninformed. Ex: "In debate class Bill lost the debate because he was ignorant in (without knowledge of) that subject." In politics, it is almost always used as a pejorative label, but some political movements have raised it to an ideal, for instance the Know-Nothings of the 19th century United States and some peasant and agrarian mo ...

Doubt: Encyclopedia - Cross pattée

A cross pattée (also known as a "cross pattee", "cross patty" or "cross formy") is a type of cross that has arms which are narrow at the center, and broader at the perimeter. The name comes from the fact that the shape of each arm of the cross was thought to resemble a paw (French patte). Here are several variants of the cross pattée: With the edges of the arms concave throughout; the "iron cross" With less curvature With triangular arms which come close to filling the square With the ends of the arms convex and curved; sometimes called "Ali ...

In the common law, burden of proof is the obligation to prove allegations which are presented in a legal action. More colloquially, burden of proof refers to an obligation in a particular context to defend a position against a prima facie other position. Burden of proof - Types of burden. Doubt: Encyclopedia - Visigoth

The Visigoths were one of two main branches of the Goths, the Ostrogoths being the other. Together these tribes were among the loosely-termed Germanic peoples who disturbed the late Roman Empire during the Migration Period. After the collapse of the western Roman Empire the Visigoths played a major role in western European affairs for another two and a half centuries. Visigoth - Visigoths as Tervingi. The naming of this people is problematic. Some time shortly after 291 Mamertinus made a eulogy of Em ...

Doubt: Encyclopedia II - No Doubt album - Reception

The finished product was a New Wave-influenced ska punk collection of tracks that was somewhat different to anything previously released by a supposed ska band at that time. The group were unfortunate in that their blend of upbeat brass-dominated songs and funk-style bass riffs came at a time when most of the USA was in the thrall of grunge music, a genre whose angst-ridden lyrics and 'dirty' sound could not have contrasted more with the atmosphe ...

Doubt: Encyclopedia II - No Doubt album - Background

By mid-1991, No Doubt had been together as a touring band for about three and a half years. During that time their line-up had changed considerably, with co-founder John Spence having committed suicide two years earlier. Despite this, the band had managed to build a strong reputation in Orange County, California, and signed a record contract with Interscope Records. The band members (Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal, Eric Stefani, Gwen Stefani and Adrian Young) spent less than $13,000 in the process of recording their debut album, featuring bot ...

Doubt: Encyclopedia II - No Doubt album - Trapped In A Box

After the disappointing sales of No Doubt, Interscope did not wish to finance the release of a single from the record. However, the band financed the shooting of a video for the song 'Trapped In A Box' out of their own pockets. Roughly $5,000 was spent on it, and the band hoped that MTV would feature it on their channel. However, it was never aired. In 2003 the video was released on the Boom Box box set. ...

A newspaper publisher, wanting to prove a point about the insufficiency of circumstantial evidence, talks his possible son-in-law Tom Garrett into a hoax in an attempt to expose the alledged ineptitude of the city's hard-line district attorney. The plan was to have Tom plant clues leading to his arrest for killing a female night club dancer. Once Tom was found guilty, he would reveal the setup and humiliate the DA. Although once it was usually attributed to IBM, in the 1990s and later the term became most often associated with industry giant Microsoft. News of the Persian Princess prompted American archaeologist Oscar White Muscarella to come out about an incident the previous March when he was shown photographs of a similar mummy. Amanollah Riggi, a middleman working in behalf of an unidentified antiquities dealer in Pakistan, had approached him, claiming its owners were a Zoroastrian family who had brought it to the country. The seller had claimed that was a daughter of Xerxes, based on trans ...
