By approving the Anglo-Irish Treaty in December 1921 and the Constitution of the Irish Free State in October 1922 the Dáil temporarily agreed to the dissolution of the Irish Republic and its replacement with the system of constitutional monarchy of the Irish Free State. Dissolution: Encyclopedia II - O-Town band - Dissolution

O-Town understood that gaining a foothold in the music industry would be a challenge, considering the transparent nature of the band's formation. Making the Band had the unfortunate effect of emphasizing the extent to which bands like O-Town were packaged and corporately controlled, facets of the music industry that listeners were not attracted to. At the same time, however, the television show also illustrated the humanity of the band members, showing their struggle for market acceptance and group identity. Though the group released several songs, O-Town was never able to reach the populari ...

Dissolution: Dissolution Of Elements At Death

This physical body is composed of five great elements or the Mahabhutas, namely, earth, water, fire, air and ether. The Devas or gods are endowed with a divine or luminous body. The fire Tattva is predominant in them. In man the earth Tattva is preponderating. In the case of aquatic animals the element of water predominates. In the case of birds the element of air predominates.

The death and dying and the life after death has always fascinated man. This is an excerpt from the book What Becomes Of The Soul After Death by Sri Swami Sivananda.

Dissolution: Encyclopedia - Essenes

The Essenes (es'-eenz) were a religious sect of Judaism that flourished from the 2nd century BC to the 1st century AD in Qumran, a plateau in the Judean Desert along the Dead Sea. The origin of the name Essene is debated. Some credible possibilities are either a version of the Greek word for "holy," or an Aramaic dialect term for "pious." Geza Vermes, a scholar and writer on religious history, traces the word to the Aramaic "Esaoin", meaning "followers of Esa". Vermes identifies this with Isa, an early name for Jesus ...

Dissolution: Encyclopedia II - Dissolution of the Monasteries - Consequences

The abbeys of England, Wales and Ireland had been among the greatest land-owners and the largest institutions in the kingdom. Particularly in areas far from London, the abbeys were among the principal centres of hospitality, learning, charity and medical care. The removal of over eight hundred such institutions virtually overnight left many gaps. It is unlikely that the monastic system could have been broken if there had not been a strong feeling of resentment agai ...

These processes should be seen against the larger background of the Protestant Reformation taking place in continental Europe, with a singular difference: despite the break from the jurisdiction of Rome, Henry VIII's dispute was political rather than theological. The Anglicanism which resulted was essentially a form of "State Catholicism" as demonstrated by Henry VIII's 1539 Six Articles. Cardinal Wolsey had obtained from the Pope a Papal Bull authorizing some ...

Dissolution: Encyclopedia II - Dissolution of the Monasteries - Process

Henry had himself declared Supreme Head of the Church of England in February 1531. In April 1533 an Act in Restraint of Appeals eliminated the right of clergy to appeal to "foreign tribunals" (Rome) over the King's head in any spiritual or financial matter. In 1534 Henry had Parliament authorize Thomas Cromwell, a layman in the King's service since 1530, to "visit" all the monasteries (which term includes abbeys. priories and convents), ostensibly to make sure their members were instructed in the new rules for their supervision by the ...
