| ARTICLES RELATED TO Different Kinds Of | | | | | | Different Kinds Of: Encyclopedia II - Arameans - HistoryThe origin of the Aramaeans is still uncertain, arising from the limited amount of evidence regarding the mention of Aramaeans in Mesopotamian inscriptions. The appearance of the Aramaeans is retraced to two different dates: the 14th and the 12th centuries depending upon the acceptance of some kind of relationship between the Aramaeans and the Ahlamû. Nonetheless, present-day scholarship seems to be agreed upon their Upper Mesopotamian origins.

| | | | Different Kinds Of: Encyclopedia II - Meaning - Linguistic approachesLinguistic strings can be made up of phenomena like words, phrases, and sentences, and each seems to have a different kind of meaning. Individual words all by themselves, such as the word "bachelor," have one kind of meaning, because they only seem to refer to some abstract concept. Phrases, such as "the brightest star in the sky", seem to be different from individual words, because they are complex symbols arranged into some order. There is also the meaning of whole sentences, such as "Barry is a bachelor", which is both a complex whole, and seems to ...

| | | | Different Kinds Of: Encyclopedia II - Cone cell - TypesThe three kinds of cones typically respond most to yellowish-green (long wavelength or L), green (medium or M), and bluish-violet (short or S) light (peak wavelengths of 564 nm, 534 nm, and 420 nm respectively). The difference in the signals received from the three kinds allows the brain to perceive a wide gamut of different colors through the opponent process of color vision.
The color yellow, for example, is perceived when the yellowish-green receptor is stimulated slightly more than the green receptor, and the ...
