Diet Coke is a sugar-free counterpart brand for Coca-Cola. In some countries the Diet Coke product is labeled Coca-Cola Light and is actually a different formulation. The product quickly overtook Tab, Coca-Cola's saccharin-sweetened product, in sales. Initially sweetened with saccharin, Diet Coke was sweetened with aspartame as soon as it became available in the U.S., in 1983; however, to s ...

Diet Coke: Encyclopedia - Coca-Cola Zero

Coca-Cola Zero, aka Coke Zero, is a product of the Coca-Cola company, released in June 2005. It is a sugar-free variation of Coca-Cola Classic, sweetened with a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium. This product is different from Diet Coke because of the sweeteners it uses (Diet Coke only uses aspartame) and because, unlike Diet Coke, this product is based on the original Coca-Cola formula. Diet Coke was an entirely new formula which would eventually become the basis for the controversial New Coke (later renamed Coke II) ...

Even though the original, "hip" advertising campaign for Coke Zero was quickly replaced by a new, more "informative" one (because consumers were confusing it with C2 and Diet Coke with Splenda), Coke Zero has gotten off to a successful start. After just a few months in release, its market share hovers around 1%, and grew by 18% from September 2005 to November of the same year. For some perspective, market share (in the U.S.) for some other popular sodas are as follows: Coca-Cola Classic (18%), Pepsi (12%), Diet Coke (9%), and Diet Pepsi (5%) ...

Coca-Cola with Lime was introduced in North America in the first quarter of 2005. The formula is the same as regular Coke but with added lime flavor. The decision to market the product was based on popular feedback from consumers in 2004 with the release of Diet Coke with Lime. The lime taste is barely perceptible, though, the soda's other citrus flavorings overpower it. An advertisement of Coca-Cola with Lime first appeared on television during the March 7, 2005 broadcast of American Idol. The ad uses the late Harry Nilsson's hit "Coconut" in a slightly altered form wi ...
