 | | | Dharma: Limitless Pleasure - Bhagavata Dharma
What is a human being’s dharma? Every entity and idea has its own distinct characteristic which differentiates it from another. Water has the property of making things wet. As long as it has this property, people will call it water. Similarly, as long as fire has the property of burning things, it will be called fire. When it loses this property, it will no longer be called fire. Human beings also have a dharma, which marks them as human. The corporeal body is not the limit of our consciousness.

 | | | Dharma: Hinduism DharmaDharma
Dharma is a very complicated word, for which there is no
equivalent word in any other language, including English. Dharma actually means
that which upholds this entire creation. It is a Divine law that is inherent
and invisible, but responsible for all existence. Dharma exists in all planes,
in all aspects and at all levels of creation. In the context of human life,
dharma consists of all that an individual undertakes in harmony with Divine
expectations and his own inner spiritual aspirations, actions that would ensure
order and harmony with in himself and in the environment in which he lives.

 | | | Dharma: Hare, Rama, Dharma: HRD Redefined
Hare, Rama, Dharma or HRD is the driving force of any organisation. Hare drives away your problems, Rama invokes your own radiance and Dharma is the duty of the organisation to see that each individual performs to the best of her ability. This dharma, if followed by each organisation, will drive us from an asset-based economy to a talent-based economy. There is an old saying, '' Yatha raja tatha praja ''. Under the new definition of HRD it should be '' Yatha praja, tatha raja '' - which means it is the people in your organisation who will determine the leadership.

 | | | Dharma: Samanya DharmaSamanya Dharma
is the general Dharma or law for all men. Varnasrama Dharmas are special
Dharmas which are to be practised by particular castes and by men in particular
stages of life. The Samanya Dharmas must be practised by all, irrespective of
distinctions of Varna and Asrama, creed or colour. Goodness is not the property
of any one class, creed, sect or community. Every man should possess this
virtue.

 | | | Dharma: Dharma was Killed In Gujarat
Though the term Hindu is not of indigenous origin, I am proud to consider myself a Hindu. That pride has been deeply hurt by what others using that label have done in Gujarat. What they did was typically un-Hindu, even anti-Hindu. What distinguishes the Hindu culture, philosophy and outlook on life from all other religions, faiths and civilisational traditions? In Hinduism alone you are able to say '' Brahmasmi ’’ (I am God) and to your neighbour, '' Tattvamasi ’’ (You are the truth).

 | | | Dharma: The Four Castes in HinduismIn Purusha-Sukta
of the Rig-Veda, there is reference to the division of Hindu society into four
classes. It is described there that the Brahmanas came out of the face of the
Lord, the Creator, Kshatriyas from His arms, Vaisyas from His thighs, and the
Sudras from His feet.

 | | | Dharma: Varna Dharma The Dharma according to the CasteThe principle of Varnasrama Dharma is one of the basic
principles of Hinduism. The Varnasrama system is peculiar to Hindus. It is a
characteristic feature of Hinduism. It is also prevalent throughout the world
according to Guna-Karma (aptitude and conduct), though there is no such
distinct denomination of this kind, elsewhere.
The duties of the castes are Varna Dharma. The four
castes are Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaisya and Sudra.

 | | | Dharma: Use and Abuse of the Caste SystemThe Hindus have
survived many a foreign conquest on account of their caste system. But they
have developed class jealousies and hatred in the name of the caste system.
They have not got the spirit of co-operation. That is the reason why they are
weak and disunited today. They have become sectarians in the name of the caste
system. Hence there is degradation in India. At the present moment, the Varnasrama
system exists in name only

 | | | Dharma: Ahimsa or non-violence in Hinduism DharmaNon
violence: Ahimsa or
non-violence is the most important virtue. That is the reason why Patanjali
Maharshi has placed it first in Yama. Practice of Ahimsa must be in thought,
word and deed. Practice of Ahimsa is not impotence or cowardice or weakness. It
is the highest type of heroism. The practice demands immense patience,
forbearance and endurance, infinite inner spiritual strength and gigantic
will-power.

 | | | Dharma: Yuga DharmaIn Satya-Yuga or
the golden age there was a different set of Dharmas or laws; in Treta, they
changed into another form; in Dvapara, the Dharmas were different from the
Dharmas of other Yugas; and in Kali-Yuga, they assumed still another form. The
Dharma changes according to the changes of the cycles. Man is undergoing
change. His nature gets transformed through experiences. Hence, his external
form of Dharmas also should change.
