Baie-Comeau is located on the shores of the St. Lawrence River and of the Manicouagan River, which is home to several hydroelectric dams. The principal village and administrative center in Nunavik is Kuujjuaq, on the southern shore of Ungava Bay; other villages include Inukjuaq (where the film Nanook of the North was shot), Salluit, Povungnituk and Kangiqsualujjuaq.
