There has been a lot of press lately about the sudden upsurge in profoundly autistic children- especially in California, but also in many other places. Some attribute this to the toxins in the water of California from the many fabrication plants in the Bay Area. Others say that when mildly autistic geeky sorts mate, their children are more likely to amplify their traits. Many programmers have Aspergers, a mild form of autism, which makes them excellent programmers, but also carries the risk of their offspring having full-blown autism. And others say the problem stems from the effects of some vaccines on children.

When interacting with and caring for your Indigo/Crystal child you need to remember that your child is very different to you. What worked for you as a child will not work for them.

The main areas where you will need to adjust are the following:

• The Indigo/Crystal child is a Right Brain oriented being.
• The Indigo/Crystal is Super Sensitive to environmental stress.
• The Indigo/Crystal child is sensitive to food and will often develop Food Allergies.

How do you know if you, or someone you know, is an Indigo or Crystal Child or Adult?

We will describe the main features and characteristics of these people. But we want to stress that the Indigo/Crystal phenomenon is the next step in our evolution as a human species. We are all, in some way, becoming more like the Indigo and Crystal people. They are here to show us the way, and so the information can be applied more generally to all of us as we make the transition to the next stage of our growth and evolution.

Parenting an Indigo or Crystal child is a special privilege in this time of turbulence and change. As a parent, you are contributing to etsablishing new patterns for parenting on the planet. You are partnering with your child in raising the resonance of the child/parent relationship to its highest possible level at this time.

The Indigo or Crystal child has come to the planet with its own "mission". As an Indigo it is here to challenge exisiting forms and beliefs, and as a Crystal it is here to teach empowerment and love. You, as the parents, are the partners in this mission of teaching and healing. You can help your child to fulfill its mission by understanding what is required of you. As a parent to an Indigo, you can expect to be challenged at every turn, but having the skills to handle these challenges will create and easier relationship between you and your Indigo. As the parent of a Crystal, you will have to deal with a very strong will and frequent power struggles. Again, having the parenting skills to cope with these issues will facilitate the growth and unfolding of your child.

Since Steve Rother and the Group first identified the Children of the Crystal Vibration in 1997, the information about these children has exploded. While some of the information is contradictory in nature, we feel that all of it is relevant and of interest to different individuals. The following article is an example of a very unique view of the new children, one that will cause many of you to pause.

In the final analysis, the most important thing to remember about the new children, whether they be labeled Indigos, Crystals, Octarines, Psychic Kids or Star Children, is that they are all our children, yours and mine. Indigo children are supposedly a set of children having certain special psychological and spiritual attributes. The indigo child concept was first popularized by the book, The Indigo Children, written by the husband and wife team of Lee Carroll and Jan Tober1, with the contributions of medical doctors, psychologists, and parents whose essays are included in the text. The adjective "indigo" is used because it is claimed these children appear with an indigo-hued aura.

Let us study six facets of a brand-new species that has come to the planet. Lee Carroll and Jan Tober are the authors of the Indigo Children books and are wonderful people and personal friends. Lee and I have discussed this point. He and Jan say that the Crystal Children are a sub-set of the Indigo children, whereas the Group says they are markedly different. The word Indigo comes from Nancy Tappe who sees energy fields in a very unusual way. They use this word to talk about all the new children entering the Earth including Star children, Psychic children and more.

Clearly child prodigies have existed for a long time. This is not a new phenomenon. Yet the Indigo Child proponents say this is something new that's happening, brought about as I said because of the period of growth and change.

In some cases the Indigo children are said to have great spiritual talents and are talking with one another through a wide-spread telepathic communication channel between these Indigo children.

The unusual baby boy was born in the town of Volzhsky, the Volgograd region of Russia. His mother, Nadezhda Kipriyanovich, gave birth to her son one fine morning. "It all happened so fast, I did not even feel any pain. When they showed the baby to me, the boy was looking at me with a grown-up look. Everyone knows how important flowers are -- for their beauty, their fragrance, their oils in Aromatherapy and perfumes, even sometimes in food. But the most important property of flowers is seldom mentioned: their vibrational essence, and their literal connection to the human electrical system.

This is the true meaning of alchemy: to transmute dross into gold -- to transform suffering into joy, pain into learning, dis-ease to health, and darkness into peace and light. Are flower essences capable of doing this? Yes, and more.

In the past few years we have heard much about Indigo Children, Star Children, Psychic Children, and more recently, the Crystal Children. Whether people accept these categories or not, most will agree that the current generation of children is very different to their predecessors.

These children seem somehow smarter, brighter and wiser. They are attracted to and easily master difficult and complex technologies. They are passionate, focussed and honest about their feelings. Relationships are important to them.

This is a good question and one with differing viewpoints, not only amongst interested persons, but also different messages between the channelings of different entities. It's an interesting question. Why do we want to know this? Well, there is some thought that knowing about past lives will help figure out current life karmic lessons.

Also, I've heard it said that some Indigos seem to have no compassion - that they just don't understand why someone else would be angry or hurt or sad about various issues that come up and therefore inadvertently hurt others feelings. If this is true, then they would need training specific to this. I've also heard that Indigos are particularly empathic and compassionate and will go out of their way to help someone who is hurting. This contradicts the first idea, so which is it??

Reiki is an ancient healing practice that involves using universal healing energy to heal physical and emotional wounds. Teaching Reiki to children started with my two year old daughter Mayah. Or maybe it was her teaching me? Her openness and willingness to send healing energy to others has been eye opening to all who have seen her.

She began at a healing group I take her to regularly. Mayah has sent energy to people on the table, and has on occasion gotten on the table herself to accept healing from others. This is what opened me to consider teaching Reiki to the crystal children of the world. These children are already gifted with healing and psychic abilities, and it is our job as their parents, guardians, grandparents etc. to guide and assist our children to understand and explore their healing gifts. Reiki is a perfect place to begin as is simple and easy for children to learn.

Most people are curious about a child's ability to meditate. Many adults can't seem to find the time nor have the patience, so people wonder how could a child sit still long enough to meditate? Remarkably, children love to meditate. Meditation allows children to use their creative imagination without limitation. As a former schoolteacher and certified hypnotherapist, I've been working with children since 1991 and currently teach meditation techniques to children.
