Correlation - Mathematical properties.
The correlation ρX, Y between two random variables X and Y with expected values μX and μY and standard deviations σX and σY is defined as:

 | | | Correlation: Why the Creation Cycles do not end December 21, 2012, but October 28, 2011Over the decades much discussion has focussed on finding the exact correlation between the Mayan Long Count and the Gregorian calendar. Most researchers in the field have now come to agree that the so-called GMT correlation, placing the beginning of the Long Count 4 Ahau 8 Cumku on the Julian day 584 283, August 11, 3114 BC, is correct. This means by consequence that it will end on December 21, 2012 and most, such as Jose Arguelles, John Jenkins and Terence McKenna, who have taken an interest in the calendar of the Maya, have endorsed this date as the end of the current cycle. | | | Correlation: Encyclopedia II - Intelligence quotient - Practical validityEvidence for the practical validity of IQ comes from examining the correlation between IQ scores and life outcomes.
Research shows that intelligence plays an important role in many valued life outcomes. In addition to academic success, intelligence correlates with job performance (see below), socioeconomic advancement (e.g., level of education, occupation, and income), and "social pathology" (e.g., adult criminality, poverty, unemployment, dependence on welfare, children outside of marriage). Recent work has demonstrated links between ...

 | | | Correlation: Paganism PornographyPaganism & Pornography
At times my political views seem to lead me into
contradictions. Last month saw me writing a furious letter to Penthouse
magazine concerning their misinformed story on Witchcraft. Within two weeks I
was writing to the head of the QuickTrip Corporation protesting the removal of Penthouse from their stores. You'd think I would
have been happy at a blow struck against a magazine that maligned my religion.
Not so. At stake is the free expression of ideas. Misinformation and censorship
are both threats to
that freedom. Of the two, I judge censorship to be the greater threat. As long
as publishing continues unimpeded, retraction of misinformation is possible.
When publishing is censored, even that becomes impossible.

 | | | Correlation: Break Your
Mental BarriersBreak Your Mental Barriers
Most of us find ourselves trapped in our mortal ken
because of our ingrained habit of linear and sequential thinking. We find it
difficult to break this habit. The habit arises from our innate striving to
discern patterns in our sensory perception of reality. Our mind interprets
these perceptions by piecing together their constituent elements with other
entities in our mental database of past experience. By systematically stringing
these patterns together we have created the corpus of human knowledge.

 | | | Correlation: Introduction to
Tarot The Tarot cards operate on many levels, describing both
internal developments (emotions, thoughts, intuitive feelings) and external
ones (actions and physical events). Think of the complete Tarot as a map where
each card represents a different piece of a jigsaw puzzle. This puzzle
symbolizes the wide variety of possibilities and experiences available to us
all.
