A selection of articles related to Contentment:

Kabir highlighted the importance of santosh or contentment in our lives. Indian culture teaches us to be content in all situations. But today, we are not happy with the grades our child gets, our pay packet, our spouse, or our ageing parents

Contentment means living to the fullest the good of every passing moment. Above all, it means living in the present moment, in the Eternal Now. How much is lost in life by people who perennially wish things other than they are! Who complain unceasingly, and tell themselves that the world owes them more than it is giving them! We must smile inwardly with God, knowing that life is His dream

Many other references give further indications of the poem's storyline. The poem narrates the origins of the Trojan War and the first nine years of the war. It begins with the judgement of Paris between the goddesses Athen ...

* A Fervent Plea for Compassion and Love

Contentment is within reach for a person who is compassionate and loving. The greedy, however, remain unsatisfied as they are constantly looking for bigger and better ways to fulfil their desires. At which point will they be satisfied - when they get a bigger house, a better car, higher designation?

To overcome this vicious circle, we need to replace lower thoughts with noble ones. A greedy person pays no attention to the quality of his words and deeds. Always fixing his gaze on the future, trying to figure out how to do this or that, he will spend his whole life planning, calculating, and dreaming. Unable to be in the present and enjoy what is right in front of him, he cannot relish even his food, because while he is eating lunch he is planning his supper.

A Wind in the Door is a 1973 novel by Madeleine L'Engle. It is a sequel to A Wrinkle in Time. In this story, science and spirituality are intertwined. The story follows the adventures of the Murry children and Calvin O'Keefe, whom we first met in A Wrinkle in Time. Cosmic evil is connected with evil on a cellular level, and the children along with some new friends go within the mitochondria of Charles Wallace in order to save his mitochondria (and the fictive entities living within them, the farandolae) from the un-namers -- the echthroi. The echthroi ar ... Including:
