Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: Encyclopedia II - Consciousness - Tests of consciousness

As there is still not a clear definition of consciousness, no empirical tests currently exist to test consciousness as a whole. Some have even argued that empirical tests of consciousness are intrinsically impossible. However, some researchers have devised tests to detect what they feel are certain aspects of consciousness. A test similar to this was used in the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick to see if a person was a robot or an actual human. In the Ridley Scott movie, Blade Runner, which was inspired by that book, it is known as th ...

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: Encyclopedia II - Artificial consciousness - Testing for artificial consciousness
Unless artificial consciousness can be proven formally, judgments of the success of any implementation will depend on observation. The Turing test is a proposal for identifying machine intelligence as determined by a machine's ability to interact with a person. In the Turing test one has to guess whether the entity one is interacting with is a machine or a human. An artificially conscious entity could only pass an equivalent test when it had itself passed beyond the imaginations of observers and entered into ...

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: Encyclopedia - Consciousness

Consciousness is a quality of the mind generally regarded to comprise such key features as subjectivity, self-awareness, sentience, sapience, and the ability to perceive the relationship between oneself and one's environment. It is a subject of much research in philosophy of mind, psychology, neurology, and cognitive science. Some philosophers divide consciousness into phenomenal consciousness, which is experience itself, and access consciousness, which is the processing of the things in experience (Block 2004). Others consider ...

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: Dealing With Negative Ego Neighbors And People

The focus of this article is how to effectively deal with people and neighbors who are dominated by the negative ego.

To begin, it must be understood that when life is looked at from the perspective of the soul, everything is seen as a lesson, challenge and spiritual test. Every interaction is seen as an opportunity to respond from a Christ Consciousness attitude rather then a negative ego attitude, to respond from unconditional love, rather than fear and attack, to choose oneness with God rather than separation from God, to choose forgiveness instead of grudges.

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: The Indigo to Crystal Transitional Crisis

I have been asked by Archangel Michael to write this article in order to help the many people who undergo the experience of a rapid shift into multi-dimensional awareness, or, the shift from the Indigo state to the Crystal state of consciousness.

There are people who make the transition in a relatively gentle way, but there are many who experience a crisis when this happens. These are usually the people who have chosen to open up to the higher dimensions. This choice is not made logically by the rational mind, but is rather a soul choice made in response to the available transitional energies of the Earth herself. So, sometimes a person is thrust into psychological, emotional and bodily changes for which they can find no logical explanation. This can cause a crisis. My experience has been that orthodox doctors and psychologists are of very little help as they have no idea of what the person is experiencing. When tests come back negative, the person is often considered to be hysterical or ungrounded or even schizophrenic.

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: CNN report about Indigo Children

"Beloved Friends,

On 15th of November an eight minute report about Indigo Children was broadcast worldwide on CNN, showing that the subject has at last reached mass consciousness. Articles in USA Today as well as other major newspapers and magazines indicates that our goal of bringing the message of the Children to the world is being achieved. If you would like to view the report online, please go to:

www.cnn.com/video/player/player.html?url=/video/us/2005/11/15/tuchman.indigo.children.affl

This means that when THE INDIGO EVOLUTION documentary is released this January, the world will be ready to finally respond to the messages as well as the needs of the New Children. The success of the World Premier test-screening of the film in Phoenix earlier this week has set the stage for major impact. Thanks to everyone who has supported this movement and the Children themselves. It looks as if all our effort is about to pay off, for the Children and for humanity itself.

James Twyman"

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: The Dual Nature Of Our Consciousness

The Dual Nature Of Our Consciousness

All things that have consciousness may be divided into two categories - those that move and others that cause movement. That which moves is matter, and that which makes the matter move is awareness.

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: 2004 - The Third Night by Ian Xel Lungold

Predictions for 2004 based on the Mayan Calendar. This article by Ian Lungold, based on new revelations pertaining to the Mayan calendar, seems to fit in well with other predictions for the coming year. If this year is truly part of an accelerating galactic cycle to pay off karmic debts, we may see quite a few earth-shaking events taking place worldwide, in every sense of the word, politically as well as geophysically. There could be tightening of controls, even as hidden closets begin to get cleaned out. With increasing solar flares and tectonic plate activity, there could also be increased earthquake and volcanic activity worldwide.

The period from December 10 2003 through December 4 2004 will be the greatest test that humanity has ever faced. It is at this time that the Law of Karma goes extinct. That is to say that all Karmic debts shall be paid in full during this Galactic cycle.

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: Meditation through Mantras - Mantra Meditation

Mantra meditation involves channeling one's consciousness from a low level to a high level of purer thought. "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and God was the word." Word, sound, and mantra, are all integral parts of the manifest cosmos. By constantly meditating on a chosen mantra, one is, in due course, released from the compulsory round of births and deaths.

The word 'mantra' is a mix of the root 'man' meaning 'to think' and 'tra' meaning 'to protect or free'. Repeated regularly, a mantra awakens and expands one's consciousness. Once we comprehend that everything in nature is energy, we realise that a mantra too is pure divine energy encased in the vacuum of sound structure.

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: Glass Ceilings and the Transcendence Of Consciousness

To find peace in this life, it is essential to walk the walk, facing what you would rather not face, but doing so in faith. Often what you face changes its countenance completely in the light of the faith you have in the Divine Essence within you. Situations that are faced with Divine peace radiating from the center change both in perception and hence reality. I am not one to confront, but I have confronted my own fears and found little to fear.

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: Encyclopedia - Artificial consciousness

Artificial consciousness (AC), also known as machine consciousness (MC) or synthetic consciousness, is a field related to artificial intelligence and cognitive robotics whose aim is to define that which would have to be synthesized were consciousness to be found in an engineered artefact.1 The idea of producing an artificial sentient being is ancient and is featured in numerous myths such as the Golem, the Greek promethean myth, mechanical men in Chrétien d ...

This article is in need of attention. You can help Wikipedia by editing it into a better article. Please also consider changing this notice to be more specific. Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: Encyclopedia - Global Consciousness Project

The Global Consciousness Project, also called the EGG Project, is one of the most significant of current research projects into parapsychology. Based at Princeton, the project researches into the theory that the human consciousness may create an external field which is not detectable via conventional means. Working on the assumption that while the field of an individual's consciousness is not measurable, the combined field of a large number of people who are experiencing similar thoughts or feelings ...

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: Encyclopedia - Victor Cousin

Victor Cousin (November 28, 1792 - January 13, 1867) was a French philosopher. Victor Cousin - Observational Method. The observational method applied to consciousness gives us the science of psychology. This is the basis and the only proper basis of ontology or metaphysics--the science of being--and of the philosophy of history. To the observation of consciousness Cousin adds induction as the complement of his method, by which he means inference as to reality necessitated by the data of consciousness, and r ...

Vasovagal syncope (also vasodepressor syncope, neurally mediated syncope or neurocardiogenic syncope), a form of dysautonomia, is the most common cause of fainting ("syncope" in medical terminology). Although it is particularly common (both historically and stereotypically) among young women, it is seen across all ages and genders and in otherwise completely healthy people. It is triggered by a number of factors, including prolonged standing, alcohol, fatigue, hunger, and anxiety. Vasovagal syncope is caused by lo ...

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: Encyclopedia - Benjamin Libet

Benjamin Libet is a researcher in the physiology department of the University of California, San Fransisco, and is a pioneering scientist in the study of human consciousness. In the 1970's, Libet researched neural activity and sensation thresholds. His initial investigations involved determining how much activation at specific sites in the brain would trigger artificial somatic sensations, relying on routine psychophysical procedures. This work soon crossed into the realm of investigation of human consciousness; his most famous and co ...

Consciousness - Tests of consciousness: Encyclopedia - Attitude psychology

Attitude is a key concept in social psychology. In academic psychology parlance, attitudes are positive or negative views of an "attitude object": a person, behaviour, or event. Research has shown that people can also be "ambivalent" towards a target, meaning that they simultaneously possess a positive and a negative attitude towards it. There is also a great deal of new research emerging on "implicit" attitudes, which are essentially attitudes that people are not consciously aware of, but that can be revealed through sophisticated ex ...

Alfred Binet (July 11, 1857 – October 18, 1911), French psychologist and inventor of the first usable intelligence test, the basis of today's IQ test. Binet was a French psychologist who published the first modern intelligence test, the Binet-Simon intelligence scale, in 1905. His principal goal was to identify students who needed special help in coping with the school curriculum. Along with his collaborator Theodore de Simon, Binet published revisions of his intelligence scale in 1908 and 1911, the last appearing just before ...

An isolation tank (also commonly known as a sensory deprivation tank) is (ideally) a lightless, soundproof tank in which subjects float in salty water (denser than the human body) at skin temperature. It was devised by John C. Lilly in 1954 in order to test the effects of sensory deprivation. Such tanks are now also used for meditation, prayer, relaxation, and in alternative medicine. The isolation tank is also called float tank, floating tank, floater tank, floatation tank, Samadhi tank, sensory deprivation tank, REST tank (Restricted Enviro ...
