Collective Unconscious: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Woman

Woman

A woman or women generally represent intuition, creativity, nurturing, and love. At times they can also represent the negative attributes which are given to women and include physical and emotional weakness, gossip, martyrdom, passivity, moodiness, temptation, and guilt. The content of the dream is to be considered, as well as the emotional tone. If the dream is sexual in nature, look up sex. If the woman in your dream was a stranger and you are a man, she could be symbolic of your feminine side or your attitude about women. If you are a woman, this stranger may be symbolic of different parts of your character or personality. Carl Jung believed that the unknown woman in a man's dream is the Anima. It is the "personification of the animated psychic atmosphere; the autonomous activity of the unconscious." Thus, when you meet an unknown woman in your dreams, pay close attention to what she is saying and doing. It is Carl Jung who suggested that women in dreams represent our collective unconscious and men collective consciousness. Thus, the woman is that force or current inside of you that nudges you on and inspires you. It is your intuition and the knowledge that in not necessarily attached to words. Men, on the other hand, represent the active part that uses the information received to create the physical reality of our lives. When the two are working together well we have balance and experience awareness that leads to peace and productivity.

Collective Unconscious: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Parents

Parents

In this dream you may be expressing feelings and concerns about your parents that you could not express in daily life. Some believe that this dream usually has nothing to do with your parents, but rather the male and female sides of personality or Self. The father may represents the expressive, creative, and protective sides of God while the mother His receptive and nurturing side. Carl Jung suggests that women in dreams represent our collective unconscious and men our collective consciousness. Thus, the woman is that force, or current, inside of you that urges you on and inspires you. This knowledge is intuitive and unexpressed by words. Men, on the other hand, represent the active part of us that uses the information received to create the physical reality of our lives. When the two are working together well we have balance and experience awareness leading to peace and productivity.

Collective Unconscious: Dreams Interpretation Dictionary - Personal & Collective Unconscious

Personal & Collective Unconscious

Jung distinguishes between the more superficial and deeper layers of the unconscious mind and calls them respectively 'the personal unconscious" and 'the collective unconscious". The personal unconscious consists of thoes things that have been repressed, rejected from consciousness; it is therefore something that has build up during the individual's lifetime. The collective unconscious, on the otherhand, is older than the individual and indeed older than consciousness: it consists of 'the whole spiritual heritage of mankind's evolution born anew in the brain-structure of every individual".

{Do not be misled by the words "brain-structure": the collective unconscious should not be thought of as situated in the head; it includes emotions and instincts and, although it cannot be pinned down to any particular location in the body, it might be more helpful to think of it as in the solar plexus region rather than in the head}.

Collective Unconscious: Dreams Interpretation Dictionary - House Dreams

House Dreams Dream Symbols:

Houses in a dream most always symbolize the dreamer; different aspects of the psyche being represented by the different rooms, levels in the house, outer and/or inner aspects. It is your self-image, yet at the same can reveal the inner parts. Typically the different rooms of a house may symbolize the different emotions or complexes. The oldest, the deepest layers of the unconscious - what Jung called the "collective unconscious" will be seen as basement and the hidden spaces below that level.

Collective Unconscious: Dreams Interpretation Dictionary - House

House

See Also Rooms

Basic meaning: The self; your self image

(1) The house or other building may be a symbol of yourself. Going upstairs may mean going into the "head" - that is, the layer of the mind where rational thinking takes place. Cellars may represent the unconscious. Different parts of the house may be different ages, different emotions, different complexes, etc., the modern representing the conscious ego, the oldest the deepest layers of the unconscious - what Jung called the "collective unconscious").

If the house feels cramped, this might indicate frustration. Is some part of you not developed, not yet integrated into consciousness? What is keeping this or that instinct or emotion repressed?

(2) A house may represent your self-image: how you see yourself, or how you want to be seen by the world, or what you want from life.

(3) If the house is your parental home, what you feel in the dream may say a lot about your childhood feelings - about your parents, for instance.

(4) The different rooms of a house may symbolize the different emotions or complexes. Not being able to go into a particular room may indicate there is some aspect in your life that is not yet open to your conscious mind. When you acknowledge these emotions, you will be able to enter into the room in your dreams.

Collective Unconscious: Politics is Lowest Form of Leela

In pre-Mandalised India of the seventies, Prof A L Basham, the author of The Wonder that was India, and I were colleagues at 'El Colegio de Mexico". He once observed that despite innumerable divisive factors of caste, creed and language, the fact that democracy was a functional reality in India, made India a living wonder. Today, I ask myself, are we truly a democratic country?

Collective Unconscious: Encyclopedia II - Carl Jung - The shadow

The shadow is an unconscious complex that is defined as the diametrical opposite of the conscious self, the ego. The shadow represents everything that the conscious person does not wish to acknowledge within themselves. For instance, someone who identifies as being kind has a shadow that is harsh or unkind. Conversely, an individual who is brutal has a kind shadow. The shadow of persons who are convinced tha ...

Collective Unconscious: Encyclopedia II - Carl Jung - The collective unconscious

Jung's concept of the collective unconscious has often been misunderstood. In order to understand this concept, it is essential to understand his idea of the archetype, something foreign to the highly rational, scientifically-oriented Western mind. Here is a useful analogy: the collective unconscious is the DNA of the human psyche. Just as all humans share a common physical heritage and predisposition towards specific physical forms (like having two legs, a heart, etc.) so do all humans have a common psychological predisposition. Our common ...

Collective Unconscious: Dream Works

In the stillness of the night, when not a sound breaks the hushed silence, they timorously creep into your mind. Fragile, flittering forms—often more real than reality—seek you out from the deepest abyss of your soul and open for you a vista of visions—nonsensical, terrifying, fantastic—and sometimes, just sometimes, hauntingly beautiful. You wake up with a lump in your throat that threatens to cascade down your eyes, a lingering nostalgia for something near, yet eternity away. But weren't you closer to believing, even then, that somewhere, all that you saw was real; that, beyond the tangible truth of ticking time, you had lived one moment of timeless infinity? Perhaps that's the secret. The chance to glimpse beyond. Why else should we take a dream, those phantasms of the chaotic unconscious, so seriously?

Collective Unconscious: Morphogenetic fields according to Robert Gilman, Terence Mckenna and Rupert Sheldrake

According to its founder, the biologist Rupert Sheldrake, a morphogenetic field, is an equivalent to an electromagnetic field that carries information only, not energy, and are available throughout time and space without any loss of intensity after they have been created.

Morphogenetic fields are created by the patterns of physical forms. They help guide the formation of later similar systems where a newly forming system "tunes into" a previous system by having within it a "seed" that resonates with a similar seed in the earlier form.

Morphogenetic fields can be used to describe how the human consciousness is shared. The Morphogenetic fields therefore play the main role in the idea that humanity at one point in time will go thru a dramatic collective shift in consciousness. A shift that will happen when the critical mass for a shift is reached, or in other words, when a certain number of spiritually awakened individuals are reached.

Collective Unconscious: What is Consciousness?

What raises us above other known sentient beings is our ability to be conscious of our own consciousness. But what does this mean, scientifically?

“It is now widely accepted that all knowledge, from the beginning of time, is available to each of us, an intelligence that is carried at the cellular, subatomic level. Highly evolved individuals who have touched the hem of the eternal and communed with the infinite through their higher consciousness, made that quantum leap but have been unable to transfer their understanding due to limitations imposed by language. Because language is incomplete and fragmentary, merely registering a stage in the average advance beyond the ape mentality. But all of us do have flashes of insight beyond meanings already stabilized in etymology and grammar.”

Collective Unconscious: Encyclopedia II - Celtic knot - Significance

While analysis of the knots seem to point to eight basic types, there is no evidence to indicate that a knot had any specific philosophical or religious significance beyond perhaps the most obvious are: the work of humans and the intricacy of nature. Modern wiccans in some covens have taken up the creation of celtic knots, attributing to them ideas and magical properties that were not there originally. While the ancient Celts felt no need to attribute meaning to their designs, there is nothing to prevent the modern viewer from assigni ...

Collective Unconscious: The Holographic Universe

This very, very exciting article actually gives a scientific theory behind many spiritual viewpoints and spiritual experiences, including enlightenment and the perception of oneness encountered by many people that have had strong spiritual experiences.

It all started 1982 at the University of Paris. A research team led by physicist Alain Aspect performed what may turn out to be one of the most important experiments of the 20th century. Aspect and his team discovered that under certain circumstances subatomic particles such as electrons are able to instantaneously communicate with each other regardless of the distance separating them. After this, it didn’t take long before the idea of a holographic universe was created. But the implications of this are truly mind boggling…

Collective Unconscious: Indigo and Crystal Children

The terms, "Indigo" and "Crystal" were given to two generations of children, because they most accurately describe their aura colors and energy patterns. Indigo Children have a lot of indigo blue in their auras. This is the color of the "third eye chakra," which is an energy center inside the head located between the two eyebrows. This chakra regulates clairvoyance, or the ability to see energy, visions, and spirits.

Many of the Indigo Children are clairvoyant The Crystal Children have opalescent auras, with beautiful multi-colors in pastel hues. This generation also shows a fascination for crystals and rocks, as you'll read in this book.
