Clockwise: Encyclopedia II - Pressure system - Low-pressure system

The components of storms are attracted to regions of low pressure. For this reason, heavy precipitation and overcast conditions are often associated with low-pressure systems. Due to the Coriolis effect, low-pressure systems often develop cyclonic properties: in the northern hemisphere, winds around the system move counterclockwise, and in the southern hemisphere they move clockwise. Low pressure s ...

Clockwise: Encyclopedia II - Jug Game - Gameplay

The game begins with the person who bought the jug. Starting with that player, the players take it in turn to drink from the jug, and then pass it to the player to their left (clockwise). Players may drink as much or as little from the jug as they choose, provided that they conform to the following guidelines: They may raise the jug to their lips only once. They may use either one or two hands to hold the jug. They must begin their consumption within twenty seconds of being handed the jug. They must at ...

Clockwise: Encyclopedia II - Kapaleeshwarar temple - Therotsavam

In the month of Vaikasi in the Tamil calendar, corresponding with mid-April to mid-May, the Kapaleeshwarar temple celebrates the nine day-long Aruvathimoovar festival (from the Tamil for "63"). This festival involves a therotsavam (Tamil: "ther" - "chariot" and "utsavam" - "festival"). In the festival, the idols of Kapaleeshwarar and Karpagambal are decorated with clothes and jewels, mounted on a vahanam (Sanskrit for "vehicle"), and then taken around the temple and its water tank in a pradakshinam (a clockwise orbit when seen from above). This is repeated wi ...

Clockwise: Encyclopedia II - Lutz jump - Lutz history

In the "old days" of skating, some skaters carried the idea of the lutz's counterrotated entry to an extreme by doing this jump in the opposite direction than their other jumps. For example, Sonja Henie did clockwise lutz jumps and the remainder of her jumps and spins in a counterclockwise direction. This practice disappeared with the development of multi-rotation jumps. Today the lutz is often done in double or triple versions. Donald Jackson of Canada was the first skater to execute a triple lutz jump in competition, at the 1962 Wor ...

Clockwise: Mysticism Magick Dictionary on SWASTIKA

SWASTIKA

Religious symbol found in Europe, Asia & America. Trevor Ravenscroft: "(In Atlantis)  under the symbol of

the sun wheel or four-armed swastika,' the new (Aryan) Initiates took over the leadership of the race and became the mediators between the masses ... and the unseen higher powers. They taught a new religion ... (and) the Aryan peoples were led out of Atlantis by the great Manu, the last of the Sons of God or Supermen." In Hinduism the swastika signifies the two forms of Brahma, when clockwise, Pravritti, the universe flowing outward, when counter-clockwise (as in the German version), Nirvritti, the involution

of the universe. The "good" swastika is the fiery cross used by the original fire-priests of Persia. Its left

arm goes up in receptivity and its right arm down in blessing; this the creative fire of the 3rd Logos, or Holy Spirit.

It has been pointed out that although there are two directions for the swastika -- one pointing in one direction for the Nazis, the other in the opposite direction -- both are now considered Nazi emblems.

The surface is usually covered with sea ice in the Labrador Sea, Denmark Strait, and Baltic Sea from October to June. There is a clockwise warm-water gyre (broad, circular system of currents) in the northern Atlantic, and a counter-clockwise warm-water gyre in the southern Atlantic. The ocean floor is dominated by the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, a rugged north-south centerline for the entire Atlantic basin, first discovered by the Challenger Expedition. Clockwise: Encyclopedia II - Sorry! game - Rules

Each player in turn draws one card from the stock and follows its instructions. Typically, a card requires the player to move one of his or her pawns a certain number of spaces clockwise around the board. The player can choose which pawn they want to use. In order to get a pawn out of the nest (jail),the player must draw a 1 or a 2 card. No two pawns may occupy the same square. A pawn that lands on a square occupied by a pawn of another color sends that pawn back to the nest. A pawn may not be moved so as to land on a square already ...

Clockwise: Encyclopedia II - Bénard cells - Far from equilibrium: convection and turbulence

If we progressively increase the temperature of the bottom plane, there will be a temperature at which something dramatic happens in the liquid : convection cells will appear. The microscopic random movement spontaneously became ordered on a macroscopic level, with a characteristic correlation length. The rotation of the cells is stable and will alternate from clock-wise to counter-clockwise as we move along horizontally: there is a spontaneous symmetry breaking. A small perturbation will not be able to change the rotation of the cells, but a larger one could very we ...

Clockwise: Encyclopedia II - Delaunay triangulation - Algorithms

All algorithms for computing Delaunay triangulations rely on fast operations for detecting when a point is within a triangle's circumcircle and an efficient data structure for storing triangles and edges. In two dimensions, one way to detect if point D lies in the circumcircle of A, B, C is to evaluate the determinant Assuming A, B and C to lie counter-clockwise, this is positive if and only if D lies in the circumcircle. < ...

Clockwise: Dreams Interpretation Dictionary - Anticlockwise

Anticlockwise -You may be going against your true nature, taking a wrong direction, making wrong decisions. Going to the left may signify moving over from a cerebral to a more intuitive approach to life. {The hero in mythology always takes the left hand path, one of intuitiveness and less of social duty.
