How do you know if you, or someone you know, is an Indigo or Crystal Child or Adult?

We will describe the main features and characteristics of these people. But we want to stress that the Indigo/Crystal phenomenon is the next step in our evolution as a human species. We are all, in some way, becoming more like the Indigo and Crystal people. They are here to show us the way, and so the information can be applied more generally to all of us as we make the transition to the next stage of our growth and evolution.

Indigo Children

Children born since around 1982 really are different, like no other generation of record. If the movie "Indigo" makes this point and no other, it has done the world a favor and hopefully will help to engender an overall transformation in how we regard and teach children. Surely it will inspire a forum whereby the children themselves can speak and be heard... for our youngest citizens truly have something important to say that is worth hearing.

They go by many names, such as Star Kids, Indigos or Crystalline Children. Whatever they're called, believers say this group of prodigies started appearing about 30 years ago and may now make up as much as 90 percent of the population under ten. They also exhibit strange side effects, like a higher resistance to pollutants but an increased sensitivity to sugar and food additives. These are babies born with an inherent knowledge of art, language and spirituality, possessing an impressive wealth of wisdom. Some will even go so far as to say these kids are not only prime candidates for the gifted and talented program, but the next step in human evolution.

Indigo children are supposedly a set of children having certain special psychological and spiritual attributes. The indigo child concept was first popularized by the book, The Indigo Children, written by the husband and wife team of Lee Carroll and Jan Tober1, with the contributions of medical doctors, psychologists, and parents whose essays are included in the text. The adjective "indigo" is used because it is claimed these children appear with an indigo-hued aura.

Indigo homes are interesting places- often reflecting the owner's diverse tastes in books, music, décor, and everything else. We span the spectrum in organizational skills, but the typical Indigo dwelling is a symphony of elegant chaos- often cluttered and packed with books and papers, but not filthy. (It's that learning thing.) Our homes won't make it into decorator's magazines, but we know where everything is, and are comfortable with it. This doesn't mean that we don't get clutter fatigue- there is a certain stage of life where accumulation has to give way to dispersal.

When interacting with and caring for your Indigo/Crystal child you need to remember that your child is very different to you. What worked for you as a child will not work for them.

The main areas where you will need to adjust are the following:

• The Indigo/Crystal child is a Right Brain oriented being.
• The Indigo/Crystal is Super Sensitive to environmental stress.
• The Indigo/Crystal child is sensitive to food and will often develop Food Allergies.

The People of the Indigo Ray, or the Blue Ones, have been on this planet for a while, but have not manifested in such great numbers for a very long time. There has always been a random sprinkling of Indigos in the population in all generations, but these people were fairly rare before the final third of the Twentieth Century. And Indigos have been with us since the dawn of time, and many have contributed much to our advancement- some were famous, many were not. All were unique and gifted.

The current heavy surge of Indigo arrivals have manifested in five distinct and discernable decants or generations of one decade each. Each generation has distinguishing characteristics, auric veils, and Awakening/Saturn's Return years. I have listed them here for clarity.

The Indigo Children are not to be considered "superior or elite" in comparison to other humans, but rather viewed as living demonstrations of the dormant abilities that are NOW beginning to rapidly unfold among ALL HUMAN POPULATIONS.

Scientific communities in China, the US and other countries are now identifying small groups of infants and children that display rare abilities such as purging HIV, advanced genius and psychic/telekinetic abilities and other extra-ordinary attributes. These are the identified Indigo Children. Indigos can display some or all of these qualities and others not yet identified. In Indigo Children, fragments of DNA science identifies as 'junk DNA' and other portions of the DNA chain that science has yet to identify.

Indigo and Crystal children not only behave and think differently to their predecessors, they are spiritually different. Their subtle bodies are more developed, and they are "wired" differently. Because they represent the next step in human evolution, they carry within their auras the seed of an important new energy that is birthing on our planet.

It is well known by science that every human has much brain and DNA capacity that is not used, or for which they can find no use. This "extra" DNA is even referred to as "junk" DNA. However, it is not "junk" or "spare" capacity, it is innate human potential waiting to be activated.

You see them with their parents, and you see them in groups. Who are they? They are the "Indigo Children". These are the children, born in increasing numbers since the 1970's, who are already highly evolved spiritually when they are born.

How can we recognize them, these Indigos? Even though, at a glance, they look just the same as all children? If you look closely there is a difference. It is subtle, but it is definitely there. If you are sensitive to energies, you may notice a difference to their energy, like a lightness. Like there is "light shining out of their faces".

What is an Indigo Child? And why do we call them Indigo? First, the definition:

An Indigo child is one who displays a new and unusual set of psychological attributes and shows a pattern of behavior generally undocumented before. This pattern has common unique factors that suggest that those who interact with them (parents, in particular) change their treatment and upbringing of them in order to achieve balance. To ignore these new patterns is to potentially create imbalance and frustration in the mind of this precious new life. The subject of this chapter is to identify, qualify, and validate the attributes of an Indigo Child.

Why are they called "Indigo"? The name refers to the colour indigo, and the phenomenon of the Indigo Children was first publicly announced (as far as I know) in 1982, in a book "Understanding your Life through Color", by Nancy Ann Tappe.

Apparently, all humans can be categorized into groups (on the spiritual level) and each of these groups has a characteristic colour in their aura. This colour can be seen (or felt) by clairvoyants, if they know what to look for. It can be tested intuitively, eg. with a pendulum.

Author and clairvoyant Nancy Ann Tappe saw a new spirit color (or frequency) she had never seen before. She described it as "Indigo" and coined the term in her 1982 book Understanding Your Life Through Color. Not all children being born now have this frequency, but Nancy estimates that 90% of children under the age of 10 are Indigo children. Also, in my experience, not all the wonderfully aware children have indigo auras. Many that I have seen have yellow auras. However, the information coming out about Indigo children is useful to help us change paradigms about how we raise and interact with all children, most of whom are more aware at a younger age than any generation before.

Let us study six facets of a brand-new species that has come to the planet. With our hearts and minds open to these children, we will find many strategies for improving our educational systems, medical systems and personal family relationships. As we become aware of what our children have come here to teach us, we will be able to unravel the mystery of ascension by following their example. A distinctly different group of children has been born onto the planet over the last couple of decades according to Lee Carroll and Jan Tober in their book The Indigo Children. They claim:

The Indigo Child is a boy or girl who displays a new and unusual set of psychological attributes, revealing a pattern of behavior generally undocumented before. This pattern has singularly unique factors that call for parents and teachers to change their treatment and upbringing of these kids to assist them in achieving balance and harmony in their lives, and to help them avoid frustration.

Jesse and Mattea are two typical Indigo Children. Jesse, the older of the two, was born in 1987. He was "a ruler on another planet," but an accident caused him to fall into the womb of his mother Renee Weddle and thus he was born on Earth. Jesse prefers the name he was called in his previous life, Thomas, and is frequently in communication with people from that planet where he used to live. He is very sensitive to what other people are feeling, "sometimes to the point where it causes him anxiety" and can read their thoughts. Jesse's younger sister Mattea was born in 1990. Mattea remembers choosing Renee to be her mother so she could teach her "how to be goofy and silly." Mattea, too was probably royalty in a previous life. In this life she speaks with fairies and with gnomes and experiences unusual voices and lights. Jesse and Mattea both are often frustrated by their parents' inability to answer all of their spiritual questions. Sometimes, in fact, it seems that they have the wisdom to be teachers more than their parents do.

I always knew that I was different- not only in appearance from my peers, but also different inside, in my mind and my thoughts. I would tell my childhood peers things that made perfect sense to me (or to an adult), but would go completely over their heads. I was soon labeled a 'weirdo' and shunned. I didn't know it at the time, but most of the stuff that I 'just knew' had to do with the semi-conscious realization that I'd been here before. I say 'semi-conscious' because the veil this life puts over the connection to Higher Self is a heavy and distorting one, and takes many years and much effort to remove or penetrate.

I have assembled here a list of some of the traits and potentials of Indigo people. There are many Indigo-ray souls reading this who are still trying to figure themselves out, and realize that they are different somehow, but don't know why. This work hopes to be of some assistance in sorting you out, and pointing you in the right direction. It is written primarily for the adult Indigos who find their way here (there are no accidents in the universe!), but applies to the younger Indigo children, too.

Indigos have very rich and sensualist tastes in music, food, scent, color, and other sensual expression. Adult Indigos are often connoisseurs of music, food, perfumes, art, clothing, or other 'sense-dense' items. They are the ones who will be able to pick out many of the ingredients in perfumes if they have studied perfumery. They also like to dissect the various flavors in foods and wines. The same also applies to music- musical preferences tend toward 'high calorie' and complex sorts: ambient, classical, dense world fusion, jazz, and other 'iconoclastic' forms.
