Narottama dasa Thakura

a Vaishnava spiritual master in the disciplic succession from Lord Chaitanya and writer of many standard Vaishnava hymns.

Dashashvamedha-ghata

The sacred bathing place at Prayaga where the Deity Madhava is worshiped. At this place Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu personally instructed Rupa Gosvami.

Rupa Gosvami

One of the six Goswamis of Vrindavana, principal followers of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Srila Rupa is the prime authority on the science of rasa, loving exchanges with God, which he explained in his Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu and Ujjvala-nilamani. He was also an eminent playwright and poet. Most Gaudiya Vaishnavas consider themselves rupanugas, followers of Rupa Goswami.

Saci (-devi)

The mother of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and wife of Jagannatha Mishra of Navadvipa.

Six Goswamis

six great disciples of Lord Chaitanya who wrote many books on devotional service and who established the major temples in Vrindavana.

Prataparudra

the king of Orissa at the time of Lord Chaitanya’s manifest presence and a great devotee of the Lord.

O Divine Mother Kundalini, the Divine Cosmic Energy that is hidden in men! Thou art Kali, Durga, Adisakti, Rajarajeswari, Tripurasundari, Maha-Lakshmi, Maha-Sarasvati! Thou hast put on all these names and forms. Thou hast manifested as Prana, electricity, force, magnetism, cohesion, gravitation in this universe. This whole universe rests in Thy bosom. Lead me on to open the Sushumna Nadi and take Thee along the Chakras to Sahasrara Chakra and to merge myself in Thee and Thy consort, Lord Siva.

Religion and Dharma Are Not Synonymous

Dharma and religion are not the same thing. The terms are used interchangeably for want of an appropriate English word. The Oxford Dictionary defines religion as "A system of faith, especially personal God entitled to obedience".

Performing rituals alone is not dharma . Worship or upasana is the method. The mind gets purified by worshipping the Supreme Lord, Bhagwan. It will yield love for the Lord and all living beings. There will be no violence. Therefore, love for the Supreme Lord is the best dharma .
