The film has several apparent logical flaws, foremost being the two "letters of transit" which enable anyone to leave for abroad. As mentioned before, it is unclear whether Ugarte says the letters have been signed by Vichy French General Maxime Weygand or then Free French leader General Charles de Gaulle.
