| ARTICLES RELATED TO Body Mind and Soul | | | | | | Body Mind and Soul: Mandala as Symbol of the UniverseMandala, which literally means circle, largely
associated with religions and cults of India and Tibet, was also used as a
potent symbol by the American Indians, the original inhabitants of Central
America, and by the aborigines of Australia.
Across cultures, the universe is represented as a
series of concentric circles, maybe as a model of the solar system. In Tantra,
the central point represents Mount Meru around which the earth is situated, and
the concentric circles represent the cosmic aspects of the universe, like
energy fields and atmospheric zones. In Hindu and Buddhist interpretations, the
centre of the Mandala is the ultimate divine principle uniting the object and
the subject as they spin out of the centre. This may refer to the cosmos or to
the human body.

| | | | Body Mind and Soul: Mapping the Physical and Mental
UniversesIf the manual of life is encoded in our DNA, where do
we look to find the blueprint of consciousness? This was a subject that
fascinated Francis Crick, who, along with James Watson, discovered the
double-helix structure of DNA 50 years ago.
Engrossed in the mysterious relationship between mind
and body, Crick later felt impelled to turn his attention from matter to mind
and from biology to philosophy Ñ but he persisted in believing that one day,
consciousness could be explained in biological terms, using the tools of
neuroscience.

or Walls - You Choose
Life continually brings to us more gifts than we can
accept and acknowledge, more than we can treasure with thankful hearts. As we
pursue the lonely journey through our own life experience, we carry with us the
potential to reach heights of excellence. It is our vision of life that matters.
We can either paralyse ourselves or set ourselves free. We can choose to open
doors to a new life or we can choose to close them forever. We can either build
walls or bridges in our life. The choice is ours.

| | | | Body Mind and Soul: Sanctified SexualityTantra: Sanctified Sexuality
The TANTRIC philosophy
itself includes in its theory all the levels of the Universe and gives a
paramount importance to astronomy, biology, parapsychology, anatomy,
meditation, medicine, music, art and even sexuality. In fact, the sexual
experience, considered to be a unification of the Everlasting Male (+) and
Everlasting Female (-) principles, has a very important place in TANTRIC
techniques and procedures which are often profoundly erotic.

| | | | Body Mind and Soul: Defense - The Illusion
of the EgoThe
Illusion of the Ego
Nothing
can be taken from you; you cannot lose who you are. You are indestructible and
eternal. You are a manifestation of God's light, an individual consciousness
just as others are, so what is there to struggle with? Only the perceived threat
of loss that the ego presents to us can bring us into fear, delusion and
defensiveness. When we understand that loss is impossible, we will not keep
falling into the same hole over and over again. We must eventually see the
distorted reality that the ego presents to us, and once again embrace love
unconditionally.

| | | | Body Mind and Soul: Prayer Lifts The SpiritMeditation lights up your heart, and liberates you
from all desire for evil. In meditation you may discuss your tribulations with
God; you may excuse yourself for your misdeeds and implore the Lord to grant
you your desire to approach nearer to God. Devote some time each day to commune
with the Lord in solitude; converse with Him. If you cannot concentrate,
continue to express your thoughts in words. Words are like water which fall
upon a rock until it breaks; words will break through your flinty heart. Words
are the shell, meditation the kernel. Words are the body of prayer; meditation,
its spirit.

| | | | | | | Body Mind and Soul: Fasting is
Food for the SoulSpiritual Fasting: Fasting
is Food for the Soul
The followers of the Baha'i faith are
on a 19-day fast from March 2 to March 20. In this context, it would be
instructive to look at the significance of fasting in all faiths. Fasting may
assume different forms across different belief systems but is an integral
feature of humanity's common spiritual heritage.
We must ask ourselves why God wants us to abstain from
food and drink. Obviously, as the all-loving creator, He would derive no
pleasure from the mere act of making his creatures endure hunger and thirst for
a specified period. We may as well go a little further and ask ourselves why we
have spiritual laws at all.

Yoga Positions
One thing I like to do when I start a yoga session, either
by myself or when I'm teaching, is to begin with centering. I find that
centering is soooo important. I like to begin with sighs and releasing breathe.
And close my eyes. I tell myself to leave the worries and troubles and concerns
outside at the door. If I need to pick them up on my way out, I can do that.
But, for the half hour to hour that I am giving myself this treat of yoga, I
can leave the troubles outside. And that includes all the self judgement about
postures that I might or might not be able to do or the fat that I carry on my
body. I think that is one of the things that has made yoga good for me. I give
myself permission not to be disappointed with myself.....mentally, emotionally,
or physically. It doesn't always work. And I give myself permission for that,
too.

| | | | Body Mind and Soul: The Way of Kami in
Japanese Thought - ShintoismShinto: The Way of Kami in
Japanese Thought
Japanese culture has been influenced
by two spiritual traditions, Shinto or Shintoism and Buddhism. Shinto is
Japan's ancient indigenous religion which evolved over hundreds of years.
When Buddhism took roots in the sixth
century Shinto existed more as a way of life, realised by the people in their
natural surroundings, rather than as an organised religion. Shinto shaped both
the spiritual as well as material aspects of Japanese lifestyle. Japanese
culture, psyche and ethos are so closely intertwined with Shinto that it can be
called the national religion.

GodheadMotor Your Mind Towards Godhead
Compare your wealth to the automobile that you drive
everyday. When you are at the wheel, you have two options: You can either drive
without direction or, you can drive steadily to the temple and derive
long-lasting happiness. The decision is yours. So are the effects. You are the
master of your destiny. You may choose to amass wealth and use it for inferior
means of consumption or decide to use your resources to serve humanity and
therefore, Lord Krishna.

| | | | Body Mind and Soul: Crystal AwarenessQuartz
crystals are God's gift to the earth, and a rare treasure to those who embrace
their light. A crystal connection will alter your vision and ease you into a
greater understanding of your Self. Crystals are found in watches, clocks,
televisions, VCRs, and computers, and these are just a few of their
applications. Quartz holds raw piezoelectric energy, and when shaven down to
micro chip size produces electricity that operates these necessities in our
lives. Imagine the personal power we can claim when we harness that energy and
allow the gentle electrical vibrations of crystals and gemstones to balance and
work with the flow of our own unique energy.

| | | | Body Mind and Soul: On Love, Separation, and
SacrificeLove is the primary, fundamental building
block that everything is made of, and love is self-aware; it recognizes itself
in everything, and loves itself in everything. In its primal, unified,
unlimited, infinite state, it knows nothing other than unity, perfection,
completion, wholeness.

| | | | Body Mind and Soul: The Chemistry Of MetaphysicsMetaphysics
is a branch of philosophy that deals with the nature of existence, truth and
knowledge. It incorporates ontology (the science/nature of true being) and
epistemology (the study of the origin, methods and limits of knowledge). The
student of metaphysics is interested in first causes, the nature of
"reality" and in what lies beyond the sensory world. Metaphysics will
never be accepted as an integrated science by scientists because it does deal
with subjective territory, with events that do not fit perfectly within our
present prescripts of comprehension. Indeed, it will not become indefectible
and conclusive until the evolution of man-woman is consummated.

| | | | Body Mind and Soul: The Cosmic
Force And Shiv-ShaktiThe Cosmic Force And Shiv-Shakti
Before creation
took place there was nothing but a pervading consciousness that had no name.
Creation was the result of manifestation of this pervading consciousness.
The first form in which the consciousness manifested was
Adi Shakti, Gayatri or power. From her emerged everything else. Once the
universe was created there was a need for super forces or energies to look
after the governance of the world. To perform this role Adi Shakti manifested
herself into the trinity: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
