At the time, Stollsteimer was working a dead-end job as a bowling alley bartender. The performance spurred the pair to create their own band, and Stollsteimer replaced his drinking habits with devotion to guitar playing. Betsy is comparable to 2005's Hurricane Katrina, which followed a similar path but caused more extensive damage and casualties in New Orleans. Numerous other hurricanes, including the highly-destructive Hurricane Andrew, 1947 Fort Lauderdale Hurricane, and 1926 Miami Hurricane, have also followed very similar paths.
