Berenguela: Encyclopedia - Alfonso VIII of CastileAlfonso VIII (November 11, 1155 – October 5, 1214); called the Noble or, in Spanish, de las Navas; was the king of Castile and grandson of Alfonso VII. He led the coalition of Christian princes and foreign crusaders who broke the power of the Almohades at the battle of the Navas de Tolosa in 1212.
