Reality Therapy - Involvement.
Establishing a relationship with the client is believed to be the most important factor in all types of psychotherapy. Without this relationship, the other steps will not be effective.
In extreme cases, the therapist may be the only person in the client's life who is willing to put up with the client's behavior long enough to establish a relationship, which can require a great deal of patience from the therapist. In other cases, the client just needs a relationship with a positive emphasis.
