Babs Bunny: Encyclopedia II - Babs and Buster Bunny - Babs Bunny

Babs Bunny (voiced by Tress MacNeille in the English version and by Miina Tominaga in the Japanese version), is a hyperactive pink bunny, a female performer who will do nearly anything for a laugh. She is good at improvisational comedy, and is a comedic impressionist in the vein of Robin Williams. Her full name is Barbara Ann Bunny, but she hates being called that. In "Fields of Honey," Babs went insane looking for a female mentor, and eventually found one: Hon ...

Babs Bunny: Encyclopedia II - Tiny Toon Adventures - Characters

The series premiered in 1990, and it was an instant hit. It revolved around a group of young cartoon characters training at Acme Looniversity to be the next generation of Looney Tunes characters. As a result most of the characters were designed to resemble younger versions of classic Warner Bros.' most popular cartoon stars. Major characters include: Buster Bunny and Babs Bunny (no relation), modeled after Bugs Bunny Plucky Duck, a spiritual descendant of Daffy Duck Hamton J. Pig, molded in the im ...

Babs Bunny: Encyclopedia II - Plucky Duck - Baby Plucky

Among the more notable of the Plucky-centric Tiny Toons shorts featured "Baby Plucky", a look back at Plucky's diaper-clad toddler days (with rare cameos by other "Baby" Tiny Toons characters, such as Babs Bunny). Baby Plucky was characterized by a higher-pitched voice and stilted "baby-talk" diction ("Is no your turn to push the button, is my turn to push the button!"), and wore nothing except a diaper. He was also full of the wholely (or at least nearly) innocent mischief that toddlers are known for. Baby Plucky ...

Babs Bunny: Encyclopedia II - Bosko - Bosko and Looney Tunes

Leon Schlesinger saw the Harman-Ising test film and signed the animators to produce cartoons at their studio for him to sell to Warner Bros.. Bosko became the star vehicle for the studio's new Looney Tunes cartoon series. Through these early Looney Tunes, Harman and Ising would turn Bosko into a near duplicate of Walt Disney's creation, Mickey Mouse, who was then the most popular character in cartoons. Bosko himself looked like Mickey, albeit with long pants and a derby hat, and he had a Minnie Mouse flapper girlfriend named Honey. Bosko even had a Pluto substitute named Bruno. He was al ...

Babs Bunny: Encyclopedia II - Elmyra Duff - The Duffs

As the character of Elmyra was popular among the show's viewers, the creators decided to give her character two entire episodes later in the series. The family, which has been previously unmentioned family appeared in two episodes, "Take Elmyra Please" and "Grandma's Dead." Soleil Moon Frye voiced Elmyra's eldest sister, Amanda; Matt Frewer was her frazzled inventor father. As these episodes featured none of the rest of the regular Tiny Toons cast, other than Furrball, they may have been a test to see if Elmyra's character could get her own spi ...

Babs Bunny: Encyclopedia II - Elmyra Duff - Spin-offs

Though Animaniacs was not technically a follow-up to Tiny Toons, several of the characters from Tiny Toons made cameos. The most notable of all of these is Elmyra's in the short "Lookit the Fuzzy Heads." Believing the Warners were dogs, Elmyra chased Yakko, Wakko and Dot out of Dr. Scratchansniff's office and through the city, until finally the three tricked Elmyra into following Mindy, which resulted in Elmyra continually getting hurt (not to mention saving Buttons the trouble of the pursuit). In a way, this ending was ...

Babs Bunny: Encyclopedia II - Tiny Toon Adventures - Reputation and legacy

Though the characters were cute and colorful, the show had an edginess that made it quite unlike many other cartoons of the day. It often contained "gross out" humor dealing with bodily functions as well as sophisticated political and entertainment satire. Caricature versions of celebrities made frequent appearances, though were almost always voiced by imitators, and often appeared under parody names ("Tom Snooze" instead of Tom Cruise, "Michael Molten-Lava"/Michael Bolton, etc). The show also parodied other TV shows and cartoons of the day, ...

Babs Bunny: Encyclopedia II - Tiny Toon Adventures - The video games

Since the creation of Tiny Toon Adventures, there have been a multitude of video games based on the series. During the '90s, Konami held the license to develop and publish Tiny Toon Adventures games. Several other companies have since held such a license, including Atari, NewKidCo, Warthog, and Treasure. See List of Tiny Toon Adventures video games for a list of these games. ...
