Nadi: A channel in the subtle (astral) body through which subtle prana (psychic energy) flows; a physical nerve.

Ahum (Avestan) The lower personal existence or personal life; the lowest triad in the human septenary constitution: the physical body, the vital principle, and the astral body.

Out of the Body Experience:

A perception of one’s consciousness as being outside of one’s physical body and usually as movable. See Astral Projection and Mental Projection.

OUT-OF-THE BODY EXPERIENCE - awareness of the astral body detaching from the physical body, either voluntarily or involuntarily, awake or dreaming. (NAD)

Odic Chord The astral body, model-body, or linga-sarira is connected with the physical body by an extensible chord of astral-vital substance, which allows the astral to separate locally from the physical for a certain distance, as happens in sleep and trance, without severing the actual connection.

When the chord is severed, however, physical death ensues. This chord is called magnetic and odic -- words borrowed from the speculations of Reichenbach and the animal magnetists -- for want of a better term.

Doppelgänger (Germ.). A synonym of the "Double" and of the "Astral body" in occult parlance.

Nagas: Astral beings that often interact with human beings, usually taking the form of snakes. (In Sanskrit naga is the word for snake.)

Nitya-siddha: a liberated soul of marvellous  powers who is ever present on the astral plane.

Lamiae (Latin from Greek) According to classical popular ideas, monsters with the head and breast of a woman and the body of a serpent, alluring and destructive to men; astral vampires haunting human beings of negative and sympathetic character. Also an elementary, and earth-bound astral sorcerer of either sex; in some cases the lamiae are the astral shells.

Such hybrid symbols may, like the Siren and the Lorelei, likewise signify the astral light and the temptations of the Hall of Delusion, or the incubi and succubi, originating in the Near East and distorted as entities by the monkish imagination of the Middle Ages.

Ana (Chald.). The "invisible heaven"or Astral Light ; the heavenly mother of the terrestrial sea, Mar, whence probably the origin of Anna, the mother of Mary.

Atala (Sanskrit). One of the regions in the Hindu lokas, and one of the seven mountains; but esoterically Atala is on an astral plane, and was, once on a time, a real island upon this earth.

Ahum (Zend). The first three principles of septenary man in the Avesta ; the gross living man and his vital and astral principles.

Sakti (Sanskrit). The active female energy of the gods; in popular Hinduism, their wives and goddesses; in Occultism, the crown of the astral light. Force and the six forces of nature synthesized. Universal Energy.

Sophia Achamoth (Ancient Greek). The daughter of Sophia. The personified Astral Light, or the lower plane of Ether.

A ghost, apparition, or hobgoblin, in theosophical writing applied to elementals elementaries, kama-rupic shells, and astral images.

Summerland Sometimes used by Spiritualists for what they hold to be the abode of departed spirits, which actually exist in astral regions, disintegrating before the second death.

Mental Projection:

An OOBE or psi talent that may involve traveling GESP without the image of an “astral body” being brought along.

ASTRAL LIGHT

(HPB calls it "astral fluid"). In Hinduism this is an invisible aura surrounding the earth and is the life-energy of the cosmos itself. It acts as a storehouse for all the energies of the cosmos and contains (eternal?) "holograms" of everything that transpires (or has transpired?) on the physical or astral planes.

Others refer to it as the "cosmic switchboard" or the "collective unconscious" that connects all individual minds to Mind, or Omniscience. The magician operates within it always inside a consecrated bubble so as not to be influenced or harmed by its infinite cross-currents.

Is is so fluid and tenuous that the slightest act of the will or imagination can cause it to bend in the magician's desired direction.

Fluidic Double Often used by Europeans for the linga-sarira, the astral or model body, whose form is duplicated with extreme exactness by that of the physical body, but which is mobile somewhat as a fluid is, instead of being comparatively rigid like the crystallized or physical body.
