Ariel Sharon: List of people known as war heroes: Encyclopedia II - Talk:List of people known as war heroes - Ariel Sharon

Why does Ariel Sharon deserve to be here? See why I advocated this page be deleted to begin with? RickK 02:55, 14 Jan 2004 (UTC) Sharon is one of the biggest war heroes in Israel, particularly for 1973. Ironically, his WP bio goes to so much trouble to cast aspersions, it leaves out the part where a considerable percentage of the Israeli public regards him as their Eisenhower or Nelson (I don't, but I'm not going to tell people in other countries who their heroes should be). The list makes perfect sense, if one sticks to "herois ...

Ariel Sharon: Encyclopedia II - Ariel Sharon - Political career

When Sharon joined Begin's government he had relatively little political experience. He avoided Begin's Herut party in the 1940s and 1950s and seemed to be personally devoted to the ideals of Mapai, and then Labor. However, after retiring from military service, Sharon was instrumental in establishing the Likud in July 1973. The Likud was comprised of Herut, the Liberal Party and independent elements. Sharon became chairman of the campaign staff for the elections which were scheduled for November 1973. But two and a half weeks after the start ...

Ariel Sharon: Encyclopedia II - Sabra and Shatila massacre - Events

Ariel Sharon then reportedly invited Lebanese Phalangist militia units to enter the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps to clean out the PLO fighters. Under the Israeli plan, Israeli soldiers would control the perimeters of the refugee camps and provide logistical support while the Phalangists would enter the camps, find the PLO fighters and hand them over to Israeli forces. However, ultimately no persons were handed over to Israeli forces, there was no fighting and no weapons were reported to be found in the camps. Sharon's instructions to the Phalangists emphasized that the Israeli m ...

Ariel Sharon: Encyclopedia - 21st century

The 21st century is the century that began on 1 January 2001 and will last to 31 December 2100. Frequently common usage regards the 21st century as spanning 2000 to 2099, though this method of counting ignores the fact that there was no year 0. In 2000 the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) implicitly backed the common usage by defining a calendar that places the origin of the counting in a year zero. 21st century - Overview. Ariel Sharon: Encyclopedia - Anagram

An anagram (Greek ana- = "back" or "again", and graphein = "to write") is a type of word play, the result of rearranging the letters of a word or phrase to produce other words, using all the original letters exactly once. Anagrams are often expressed in the form of an equation, with the equals symbol (=) separating the original subject and the resulting anagram. ‘Earth = heart’ is an example of a simple anagram expressed so.
