 | | | Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: Encyclopedia - 2578 Saint-Exupéry2578 Saint-Exupéry is a small main belt asteroid, which was discovered by Tamara M. Smirnova on November 2, 1975. It is named after Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the French aviator and writer. The name is appropriate, as Saint-Exupéry's best-known character, The Little Prince, lives on an asteroid.
In the book, the little prince's asteroid also has a unique code: B612. 2578 Saint-Exupéry's provisional designation was 1975 VW3, which is not a match. However, there is another asteroid called 46610 Bésixdouze, which is French for " ...

3-D film - Early History.
As early as 1853, the Englishman Sir Charles Wheatstone experimented with a modified stereoscope to show 3-D paper strips (perforated film had not yet been invented) with scenes filmed at Hyde Park, London.
The first publicly shown 3-D movie short (lasting approximately one minute) was made by the Brothers Lumiére in 1903 (L'Arrivée du Train), showing the arrival of a train in a railway station. It was presented at the World's Fair of 1903 in Paris. It could only be viewe ...

French franc - Before the French Revolution.
The franc was introduced by king John II of France in 1360. Its name comes from the inscription reading Johannes Dei Gratia Francorum Rex ("Jean by the grace of God King of the French") and its value was set as one "livre tournois" (a money of account).
Other francs were minted under Charles V of France, Henri III of France and Henri IV of France.
Louis XIII of France stopped minting the franc in 1641 (eventually replacing it with the Louis), but use of the name "franc" continued in acc ...

 | | | Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: Encyclopedia II - Jonathan Livingston Seagull - Interpretation
Jonathan Livingston Seagull - The first part.
Several early commentators, focusing mainly on the first part of the book, see it as part of the American self-help and positive thinking culture, epitomised by Norman Vincent Peale and by the New Thought movement. Some have described it as having Christian-anarchist characteristics. It has also been compared to the children's tale The Little Engine That Could. But while Jonathan Livingston Seagull may take the form of a traditional animal fable, and can be enjoyed by young children ...

 | | | Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: Encyclopedia II - The Little Prince - StoryThe prince lives on an asteroid, B612, which has three volcanoes (two active, and one dormant) and a rose. He spends his days caring for his asteroid, pulling out the baobab trees that are constantly trying to take root there. The trees will rip his little world apart if they are allowed to grow. The Prince leaves one day to see what the rest of the universe is like, and visits several other asteroids each of which is inhabited by an adult who is foolish in his own way:
