| | | | | | | | | Ancient: A message to the world from the Mayan Elders about the coming Venus Transit A message about the forthcoming Venus Transit from the Mayan Elders thru Carlos Barrios, a Mayan Ajq'ij that has been given the mission by his elders to begin sharing the prophecies and teachings of the Mayan peoples with the rest of the world.
“Now that we are at the gates of a New Path of Venus over the Face of the Sun
on June 7-8 2004, the least we can do is expecting a new change in the outcome
of humanity. Death is knocking at our doors. The drums of war can be heard. Intransigence, the destruction of our Mother Earth, pollution, new diseases, the resurging of old plagues, global warming, the fear of world conflict, intolerance and fundamentalism in any of its manifestations, negligence, apathy, the confusion or worst still the extreme estrangement of drug abuse. --- While reason and logic tell us that we have to stop all this madness, we are living in the age of prophecies, and the responsibility of balancing things is ours. There
is no more time to play; it is know time to act. --- The great guardian brings the energy of a new beginning, the beginning of a new era.”
It sounds like a pessimistic prophecy but can be compared to what the Indian Avatar Sri Kalkis view. Kalki says that the Venus Transit of June 2004 is the start of the Golden Age, but he is also saying:
“Humanity is entering the most crucial phase of its existence. The coming decade shall witness the most unprecedented and undreamt of changes in the course of its long evolution. There is nothing much humanity could do about it, other than to understand the changes occurring around it and to flow with the changes that are overpowering it. Towards the end, humanity would enter a new age, The Golden Age. The transition will be a painful process. Only those whose relationships are in order would make it easily.”

| | | | Ancient: A Celebration of MAY DAYA
Celebration of MAY DAY
There
are four great festivals of the Pagan Celtic year and the modern Witch's
calendar as well. The two greatest of these are Halloween (the beginning of
winter) and May Day (the beginning of summer). Being opposite each other on the
wheel of the year, they separate the year into halves. Halloween (also called
Samhain) is the Celtic New Year and is generally considered the more important
of the two, though May Day runs a close second. Indeed, in some areas --
notably Wales -- it is considered the great holiday.

| | | | | Ancient: Sanatana DharmaThe foundation
of Sanatana Dharma is Sruti; Smritis are the walls; the Itihasas and Purnas are
the buttresses or supports. In ancient times, the Srutis were learnt by heart.
The teacher sang them to his pupils and the pupils sang them after him. They
were not written in book form. All the sects, all the philosophical systems,
appeal to the Sruti as the final authority. The Smriti stands next in authority
to the Sruti.

| | | | Ancient: A Newly Emerging, Ancient Healing ModalityColor
Energy Therapy
The
color therapist sees the universe as a hologram, as a multi-faceted gem, and
views the person he/she is working with in a "wholistic," holographic
way. The color therapist utilizes light energy that emanates from this Source
and is reflective of the full color spectrum. Color is frequency of light. Each
color hue and shade vibrates on a specific frequency. Certain rays of color can
be used for enlightenment, attunement for healing the body, mind, and the
emotions. Color therapy can align the spiritual essence of a being. Its
multi-level source of emanation makes it one of the most powerful methods of
healing.

| | | | Ancient: Why Wicca is Not Celtic PaganismWhy Wicca is Not Celtic Paganism
There are many out there who believe that Wicca and
its related forms of NeoPagism are a type of Celtic Paganism (and vice
versa), but this is simply not
true. The following article is meant to be a comparison of Wicca and Celtic
Paganism in order to demonstrate this, and to educate the public about Celtic
Paganism. While Wicca certainly contains elements of Celtic mythology, folk
magic and religious belief, its basic tenets and beliefs are radically
different from those of Celtic Pagans.

Theosophy
Occultism Mysticism Dictionary on Atman
A
Theosophical definition of Atman :
Atman (Sanskrit) The root of atman is hardly known; its origin is uncertain, but the general meaning is that of "self." The highest part of man - self, pure consciousness per se. The essential and radical power or faculty in man which gives to him, and indeed to every other entity or thing, its knowledge or sentient consciousness of selfhood. This is not the ego. This principle (atman) is a universal one; but during incarnations its lowest parts take on attributes, because it is linked with the buddhi, as the buddhi is linked with the manas, as the manas is linked to the kama, and so on down the scale. Atman is also sometimes used of the universal self or spirit which is called in the Sanskrit writings Brahman (neuter), and the Brahman or universal spirit is also called the paramatman. Man is rooted in the kosmos surrounding him by three principles, which can hardly be said to be above the first or atman, but are, so to say, that same atman's highest and most glorious parts. The inmost link with the Unutterable was called in ancient India by the term ``self,'' which has often been mistranslated "soul." The Sanskrit word is atman and applies, in psychology, to the human entity. The upper end of the link, so to speak, was called paramatman, or the ``self beyond,'' i.e., the permanent SELF - words which describe neatly and clearly to those who have studied this wonderful philosophy, somewhat of the nature and essence of the being which man is, and the source from which, in beginningless and endless duration, he sprang. Child of earth and child of heaven, he contains both in himself. We say that the atman is universal, and so it is. It is the universal selfhood, that feeling or consciousness of selfhood which is the same in every human being, and even in all the inferior beings of the hierarchy, even in those of the beast kingdom under us, and dimly perceptible in the plant world, and which is latent even in the minerals. This is the pure cognition, the abstract idea, of self. It differs not at all throughout the hierarchy, except in degree of self-recognition. Though universal, it belongs (so far as we are concerned in our present stage of evolution) to the fourth kosmic plane, though it is our seventh principle counting upwards.

New Age
Spirituality Dictionary on Ancient Astronauts
Ancient Astronauts Astronauts from other planets which allegedly visited Earth in spaceships in ancient times. This theory claims to explain Fortean mysteries and the evidence of ancient sophisticated technology, and primitive societies feats of engineering. Ancient astronaut writers say also that Man did not evolve only from earthly beings like Adam and Eve. A misreading of Genesis leads one to believe that a second strain not from this world but from a 'heavenly source', was added to the human gene-pool (Genesis chapter Devotees of this theory like to quote the myths and legends of ancient or primitive peoples in an attempt to justify their case. According to the folklore and mythology of many peoples, the gods gave fire and the skills of agriculture to mankind. However, this fact alone does not mean that the gods of the ancients were extraterrestrial beings, and that our ancestors were so simple minded that they could not have discovered these things by themselves. In 1968 Erich von DŠniken published a book, Chariots of the Gods?, in which he argued the ancient astronauts theory, presenting supposedly 'proof' of his claims. Zecharia Sitchin is a more modern author who claims to translated ancient Sumerian manuscripts which tell the story of Ancient Astronauts.

PolygamyHinduism and Polygamy: Hindu view
on Polygamy
Polygamy and polyandry were prevalent In ancient India, but it is
doubtful whether they were ever popular in the public opinion. It was practiced
mostly by the warrior castes and rich merchants. Many Hindu gods are also
depicted as polygamous, with two or more wives. The goddesses are not actually
wives in the physical sense but pure universal energies who assist their gods
to maintain dharma (good order) in the universe. They do not possess physical
bodies, though they can appear in human form if they want to. Present day
Hindus consider both polygamy and polyandry primitive and archaic, remnants of
an old society that still haunt the lives of a few unfortunate victims. In
India Hindus acknowledge polygamy as both illegal and immoral.

ANCIENT MEDICINE: CHINESE AND GREEK Chinese According to the ancient Chinese system of philosophy, the human body is governed by Chi, which can loosely be translated as the 'Life Force'. · The Chi is made up of the Yin and the Yang - the feminine and masculine principles - that in perfect balance ensure health, peace and well being. · Any imbalance between the two causes disease. · As early as 2700 BC, the complicated system of Acupuncture had identified pressure points in the human body that were considered crucial for the healing process. New Age Spirituality
Dictionary on
Queztalcoatl
Queztalcoatl (Aztec - "feathered-serpent") An Aztec god of the air or a sun-god and a benefactor of their race who instructed them in the use of agriculture, metals and the like. According to one account, Quetzalcoatl was driven from the country by a superior god and on reaching the shores of the Mexican Gulf promised his followers that he would return. He then embarked on his magic skiff for the land of Tlapallan. The Great Bird-Serpent is the most powerful figure in Mexican mythology, and it was known and accepted as a god in ancient Mexico and Central America. Accordingly, he dominated the great early American civilizations, from the land of the Incas in South America, to the Pueblo Indians of the our southwestern desert; from Teotihuacan (Mexico City) on the high plateau to Chichen Itza in Yucatan, he is a prevailing motif on ancient monuments. Sometimes with his jaws open, bifid tongue, and articulated spinal column, he is easily recognizable. At others, he seems to have been coded in an almost infinite variety of formalized patterns derived from his famous scales, or feathers. To the ancients, Quetzalcoatl became the force for understanding the universe, as it was known before the introduction of modern religion by the Conquistadors of Spain. The god Quetzalcoatl represented, to the ancient peoples of Central and South America, the very essence of life.
