Health Dictionary on Professional Kinesiology Practice
Professional Kinesiology Practice (PKP, PKP approach): Offshoot of applied kinesiology developed in the 1980s by Bruce Dewe, M.D., and his wife, Joan, both of New Zealand. During a session, the client decides on a goal, and the practitioner performs muscle testing (see above) on the client, to determine if the goal is appropriate. PKP involves the ancient Chinese theory of the Five Elements. Its thrust is to balance the life energy forces. | | | alternative health practices: Health Benefits of Sahaja YogaHealth benefits of Sahaja Yoga On being asked as to why so many foreigners are coming to India, when advanced medicines are available with doctors of modern medicine all over the world, Dr. Rai added, "The doctors abroad don't have a treatment for the psyche of human being, except giving tranquillizers, sedatives and anti-depressant drugs. These are not only harmful, but also habit-forming. In view of this, Sahaj yoga, which can control the psyche of human being by meditation, has become very popular to the treatment and prevention of psychosomatic diseases like bronchial asthma, migraine, irritable bowel syndrome, infertility, multiple scierosis and spondylitis, to name a few. It is all due to the blessings of Shree Mataji Nirmala Devi, who founded Sahaj Yoga centre, and has enlightened thousands of people all over the world." | | | alternative health practices: Sahaja Yoga and the WorkplaceSahaja Yoga and the Workplace Most of us spend a lot of time at work and we all dream about a workplace where we could deal with enlightened people, integrate work and family life in a balanced and dharmic way, and (bottom line) enjoy what we do and the environment in which we do it. The reality shows that conventional management practices no longer work. What is more, employees and managers are more and more stressed and are looking for solutions to their problems. The good news is than an increasing number of business people are aware that the rational has its limits and that the solution may come from very different directions such as the spiritual path and Sahaja Yoga in particular. | | | alternative health practices: Aids to Positivity - Meditation and YogaIf there are two piles, one of gold and one of dirt, which one will you choose? The gold one. If there is only one pile in which the dirt and gold are mixed you would try to separate the gold from the dirt and take the gold. We need to do the same with our personality. In the beginning yoga is a practice, then it becomes a way of life. When it becomes a way of life identification with and expression of the balanced, positive and optimistic nature takes place and then one attains physical, mental and spiritual wealth. | | | alternative health practices: : Yoga - Beyond The Body And MindYog means union. Union with a supreme power which is the source of creation, perfection and destruction. Union with the supreme intellect and the guiding force behind the perfect mechanism of the universe. Yoga is merging oneself with this force that guides the human being to a state of total bliss. A human being is a small universe in itself. When the consciousness of this small universe unites with the energy prevailing in the vast canopy of the universe the union is complete and the light of wisdom starts flowing in the human body. | | | alternative health practices: The
Beginning Stage of Yoga When you first begin to practice yoga, the mind, like a child runs in different directions. For a while you may be able to stabilise your mind but the thoughts invariably get scattered. It is at this stage that you have to exercise conscious control and practice the art of ÒpratyahaarÓ. There are some practitioners who can control and bring the mind quickly to focus without much effort due to an inner state of calmness. Read more here: » Pratyahaar: The
