AKHENATEN, AKHNATON or IKHNATION
(Means "Glorious Spirit of Aten") King Amenhotep IV - revered by many as the first Christ, the first monotheist, etc. (actually a maniac much hated by his people). While still alive incorporated himself as a God, along with Ra and Aten, forming a Trinity. All other Egyptian Gods were banished and their names removed from national monuments.

* Spiritual Theosophical Dictionary on Sisumara

Sisumara (Sanskrit). An imaginary rotating belt, upon which all the celestial bodies move.

This host of stars and constellations is represented under the figure of Sisumara, a tortoise (some say a porpoise !), dragon, crocodile, and what not. But as it is a symbol of the Yoga-meditation of holy Vasudeva or Krishna, it must be a crocodile, or rather, a dolphin, since it is identical with the zodiacal Makara. Dhruva, the ancient pole-star, is placed at the tip of the tail of this sidereal monster, whose head points southward and whose body bends in a ring.

Higher along the tail are the Prajapati Agni, etc., and at its root are placed Indra, Dharma, and the seven Rishis (the Great Bear), etc., etc. The meaning is of course mystical.

* Healing the Human Heart of Pain

It's not surprising to see both Hindus and Muslims praying at the dargah of the thirteenth century sufi, Shaikh Nizamuddin Aulia (1244-1325), in New Delhi. A refugee who had sought shelter here along with his parents, when Bukhara was subjected to repeated Mongol invasions, Nizamuddin never went back to the Central Asian Republic. Living here amongst the common people, he stressed that a mystic should transcend all barriers of religion, race and language in dealing with human beings.

* Spiritual Dictionary on Crystals

Crystals: A crystal is a solid material with a regular internal arrangement of atoms. Because of this orderly composition, it may form the smooth external surfaces called faces that allow us to see into the crystal when it is clear. Most all stones are made in part of silica. The presence of this silica is what gives crystals their luminosity and crystal clearness. Crystal is brittle—as we are—and as such is a reflection of ourselves. As we shatter our being, it is seen to be rigid and crystalline in structure. Crystals are described as being clear, milky, having rainbow prisms within, or having fractures visible along their length.

* MysticismMagick Dictionaryon MALICIOUS ANIMAL MAGNETISM

MALICIOUS ANIMAL MAGNETISM
Term coined by Mary Baker Eddy. Evil forces are always generated consciously or unconsciously by our enemies. As we become more attuned to the positive forces, the more open we become to all universal forces and the more likely it is that we also make ourselves vulnerable to negative vibrations. Popularity usually draws considerable malice along with its good will. The excruciating physical pain that wracked Mrs. Eddy in her final years, which she was not supposed to be feeling, was not attributed to any failing of Christian Science, but always to "M.A.M.

* Spiritual Theosophical Dictionary on Four Animals

Four Animals. The symbolical animals of the vision of Ezekiel (the Mercabah). " With the first Christians the celebration of the Mysteries of the Faith was accompanied by the burning of seven lights, with incense, the Trishagion, and the reading of the book of the gospels, upon which was wrought, both on covers and pages, the winged man, lion, bull, and eagle" (Qabbalah, by Isaac Myer, LL.B.).

To this day these animals are represented along with the four Evangelists and prefixing their respective gospels in the editions of the Greek Church.

Each represents one of the four lower classes of worlds or planes, into the similitude of which each personality is cast. Thus the Eagle (associated with St. John) represents cosmic Spirit or Ether, the all-piercing Eye of the Seer; the Bull of St. Luke, the waters of Life, the all-generating element and cosmic strength ; the Lion of St. Mark, fierce energy, undaunted courage and cosmic fire; while the human Head or the Angel, which stands near St. Matthew is the synthesis of all three combined in the higher Intellect of man, and in cosmic Spirituality. All these symbols are Egyptian, Chaldean, and Indian.

The Eagle, Bull and Lion-headed gods are plentiful, and all represented the same idea, whether in the Egyptian, Chaldean, Indian or Jewish religions, but beginning with the Astral body they went no higher than the cosmic Spirit or the Higher Manas - Atma-Buddhi, or Absolute Spirit and Spiritual Soul its vehicle, being incapable of being symbolised by concrete images.

* Ayurveda Ayurvedic Dictionary on Mantras

Mantras
Handed down since ancient times by religious seers who had attained self-realization by chanting them, mantras are words or syllables in Sanskrit which when repeated in meditation helps you transcend into a higher state of consciousness.

As sound energies that have always existed the universe, they cannot be created or destroyed and command the power to heal you physically & spiritually. At the very basic level mantras help you to concentrate in meditation. And once you enter its auspicious circle, the mind instantly gets focussed and you discover a new realm of peace and tranquility.

The original of all mantras, Om, is the root of all sounds, thus letters and therefore of all language and thought. The "O" is generated deep within the body, from inside the navel, and slowly brought upward joining with the "m" which then resonates through the entire head. Chanting Om in a whisper correctly for twenty minutes relaxes every atom in of every cell of your body.

A mala (garland of Sandal or Rudraksha) is often used in accompaniment. It has one hundred and eight beads plus the larger `meru'' beads. Holding it in the right hand, start at the meru and roll the beads along one by one between your thumb and third fingers while repeating your mantra. When you reach the meru, roll the mala in the opposite direction. Do not cross over the meru bead.
