The one actor appearing in all four films is George Kennedy in the key role of airline mechanic Joe Patroni, although the sequels seem to have confused his wife's name and how many children he had. Airport is a 1970 film which tells the story of an airport manager trying to keep his fictional Chicago airport open during a snowstorm, whilst a bomber plots to blow up an airplane (a Boeing 707 in this movie).
